James walked into the kitchen scrolling on his tablet, sitting down across of Lucian "good morning Lucian" saying respectfully
A maid poured James a cup of coffee "good morning James, did you rest well?"
James smiled remembering how he woke up "spent nights at 5 star hotels but nothing beats a good sleep in such a warm household"
"You have such a silver tounge haha"
"Thank you sir, I paint it every morning haha"
Charlotte and the Madam walked in to the dining room shortly after, Charlotte deliberately sat next to James as if it was the most natural thing. While her mom sat next to Lucian, "Jeff will be down shortly we not long woke him up" she said
Turning to look at James "did you sleep well for the first night you were here?"
"Yes ma'am, the bed was like sleeping on clouds, was just telling Lucian that nothing bets a home with such a warm embrace"
She turned her attention towards Charlotte "how did you sleep daughter?"
"Nothing beats sleeping in your own bed" Charlotte said as she hid her smile.
Jeff stumbled in half asleep. Dropping ping himself on the seat farthest away, "Good morning Jeff" Lucian said casually
"Mhm" Jeff mumbled
"Guess he isn't fully awake yet" James said holding back a chuckle
"Dad, how has the company been for the last few months" Charlotte asked
"Oh right forgot to tell you, after you two left it's been going smoothly since you fixed a few things, everything is back on track and securing some more projects. With the donation yesterday, we been looking for more projects and such" Lucian emphasised donation trying to give James an indicator
"Oh right, Charlotte did mention about Jeff is having a project of his own at the moment as well" James spoke, Lucian gave a sigh of relief
Jeff looked at everyone at the table asking "so who is this person wearing pyjamas as if he stayed the night"
"Hey I'm James, it's a pleasure to meet you"
"Oh James the new driver. Why are you sitting at the table and not outside at the car?" Jeff sneered
"No wonder Lucian gave me the signal not to say much he is a snob" James thought to himself.
"It's one thing to be snobby outside but to be ignorant first thing in the morning in front your family is another thing" James said without thinking, not knowing that, him saying those things made the family like him a bit more and Jeff to further dislike him.
"Is that your way of talking to your employer? Your fired" Jeff huffed.
"Oh Jeff, you don't fully understand. I'm Charlottes bodyguard, driver and assistant. I work for her. You don't have that authority" James smiled while speaking, his words about Charlotte made her blush a little bit.
"You are a nobody, the help should know their place"
James felt Charlottes mood switch straight away, he placed a hand on her leg letting no one see, gently massaging her. Whispering "don't react to his words, your dad is hiding the identity from him on purpose"
She took a deep breathe before saying "before you judge a book by its cover, why don't you fix the problem you have with the project your doing. I saw the reports, you lost a lot more then you had. And even had multiple workers quit"
"They are just useless" Jeff spouted
"No they aren't, go to the company with dad today and learn before taking on the project, we can have someone replace the leads for it" Charlotte said bluntly without holding back
Seeing she had calmed down, James began to remove his hand. Hearing a quiet "thank you"
The Madam asked "what are you two plans for today?"
"Actually all that is on is meetings, Since Frank took the seat as CEO we don't really need to do much just signing documents here and there"
"Look at you two, started as interns at the Brand now doing so well for yourselves" Lucian said proudly
"Pfft so what they still work at the Brand don't they?"
Lucian shook his head "no before you returned Charlotte had an offer for another company and well from interning, her allowance and the job opportunity, she owns shares in another company."
"WHAT, she left the family legacy??" Jeff shouted
"I didn't leave anything, I gained more then just a legacy. What do you think I was doing for the best 3 months?" Charlotte said proudly
"Partying like everyone else at our age"
James shook his head "Your sister spend so long studying and putting in everything she learnt from those studies, to rebuild The Brand, now she has more assets then your mum and dad combined. The best three months she has travelled building up network and still came back richer then she left" James said with the up most respect
"That's not something to brag about considering you probably don't have any assets"
"If you want to be where your sister is at then work hard and don't be a snot nose" Lucian said being a bit annoyed
Maids walked into the dining room plates of pancakes down in front of everyone, as they began to eat Lucian casually asked "When will you both be leaving for cloud city again?"
"It seems like we'll be travelling more consistently with all of the projects going on, and can also join meetings via Skype as well so there's no issues to stay in one place. So we'll be off soon as we get the date and time" Charlotte said with a smile
"Dear sister, since you have graduated have you thought about settling down? I have meet a few outstanding people I can set you up with" Jeff said smugly
"Not interested" she replied coldly
"They are all outstanding and are going far, one just became a department director and the other a GM for Dawn group Subsidiary" Jeff explained
"I am devoted to only my work, my salary and net-worth is on par with third great family in this city. I have refused advances from other more influential people compared to a Gm and department director"
"What a lame excuse, our family barely scrape even as is" Jeff explained
"That's why you should go back to The Brand and learn more before continuing the projects" james said as he finished off his food, standing up "thank you all for your hospitality I'm going to bring the car around"
