Chapter 403 - 26-

Examination Day

It was early in the morning inside the Bakugo household. Bakugo sat up in front of his mirror readying his uniform for what might be his last day in U.A.; he simply felt horrible. He worked hard for so many years to reach this place. To start his journey to become the next one number hero, but here he was on the verge of getting expelled…

Well to be accurate, he wasn't going to be expelled per se, but he felt being sent to a villain rehabilitation program was 10 times worse than being expelled. If he was expelled, he can always keep his dignity intact with a rumor that he was excessively violent in training, but with the villain rumor; he can kiss his hero career goodbye. It would be over before he even knew it.

He went down to the kitchen and noticed the thick atmosphere. His house isn't as lively as it used to be. His mother doesn't yell at him anymore. She only looks at him in shame at what guesses that her son turned out to be a horrible person who targets people weaker than him.

His father on the other hand only shakes his head whenever they meet eyes, and he had to admit that his reaction hurts ten times as much as his mother's reaction. The disappointment in his father's eyes makes him feel like he wants to jump off a cliff or bury himself in a place where no one can ever hope to find him again.

Masaru looked at his son, "Today, I need an answer to that question, Katsuki. Don't think that I forget what we talked about. I still need to know who was the reason that caused what happened to you. Don't think you can weasel your way out of it."

He looked at his father who wasn't bothering to even look at him idly flipping through his newspaper. Truly, this was a new humiliating feeling for Bakugo to be treated like he wasn't worth anything. He hated this feeling. A small voice in his head whispered, 'This what Deku used to feel like. And you are paying for everything that you did to him. Get used to…'

He quickly silenced that voice. He wasn't Deku. He was Katsuki fucking Bakugo. He needed to get over himself and get ready for the rat. Deep down, he hoped that the rat will just slap him on the wrist and they'll let bygones be bygones. If this happens, he will never look Deku's way ever again.

His mom looked at him and said, "Go, get on your shoes. We're heading to U.A. in a few minutes."

She didn't yell or shout at him. She only told him it as calmly as possible; another thing that irked him. He really wanted things to return to how they used to be.

So, in about five minutes, they were already in the family car and heading toward U.A., Bakugo only sighed as he looked at cars passing by and muttered under his breath, "Let's just get this over with. I don't think I can last anymore."

Inside Nezu's office, the principal was sitting and working on the world's largest puzzle cube made to him by one of his students that graduated a couple of years back in an attempt to challenge his intellect. Anyone would have been insulted by this, but to Nezu this was a gift of the highest of calibers that he enjoyed so much they put aside everything to finish.

Suddenly, his office's intercom came to life, "Nezu, sir. The Bakugos have arrived and are waiting for you." The rat thing frowned and sighed putting away the block. He personally wanted this affair to end. By all means, he and the other faculty members wanted to expel Bakugo. The mere idea that someone like him managed to slide under their radars made Nezu wary. Going on forward, schools with shady backgrounds were going to be investigated before any of its students are admitted into U.A.; they don't want a repeat of this year's disaster. But All Might came in with a request from Izuku Midoriya for them to give the boy one more chance for old times' sake…

The reports that he got from the orphanage weren't encouraging either, but there was something that did catch Nezu's attention and intrigued him to no extent…

The doors to the office were opened by Aizawa who was herding the family into his office. The family all sat in front of him as he smiled making Bakugo feel uncomfortable. He assumed the boy didn't even know the meaning of authority, but he guessed on some primal level the boy knew in this place wasn't the top dog or perhaps it was that his future depended on this session; who knows? Well, he guessed that he'll find out in a few moments.

Nezu then spoke, "Welcome to my office Mr. and Mrs. Bakugo." He then looked at the boy and added, "And it's good to see you too, Young Bakugo. I hope that you found your time at the orphanage enlightening." The boy shuddered under his gaze.

He rubbed his shoulder and nodded his head, "It was something…"

Nezu nodded his head, "Well, you weren't the first student we sent here to cool off their head," he smiled a little, "and I'm sure that you won't be the last one, so how about we start with business?"

The family nodded as Eraserhead began speaking, "Bakugo, let this be clear before we begin. Right now, you have zero potential in my eyes. In the beginning, I thought the way you acted was mostly ego, but now I can see that I was wrong. So right now, I'll begin with your first offense; on the first day, you attacked Monoma. Why did you do that?"

Bakugo looked away, "He used my quirk without permission. I got angry. He could've at least asked." The principal hummed a little as did Eraserhead before saying, "I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on this one. Moving on, in your first training exercise, you almost brought the entire building on your head and the others when you were fighting Monoma, and you didn't listen to instructions given by All Might. What do you have to say for yourself?"

Bakugo knew whatever he said won't sound good enough so might as well tell the truth…

The boy crossed his arms, "I wanted to win so much that I got carried away and I didn't think straight anymore. The only thing I had in my mind was beating the copy-cat fre…" he was slapped by his mom, "…I mean Monoma and winning. Everything at that moment didn't matter."

Eraserhead continued to give out his mistakes as he was forced to explain them one by one. In the end, the nighttime hero said, "This leaves everything you have ever done with Izuku Midoriya. Naming them would take too much time, but the only question I have is why?"

Bakugo shrugged, "I don't know. He was someone I saw standing in my path. I felt that his mere existence left a bad taste in my mouth…" he looked down, "Even though he was quirkless, he was always happy like he was normal. He wanted to be a hero. It just pissed me off for some reason. I was taught that I was the best and I felt like I should remind him of his place."

His parents lowered their heads in shame and Eraserhead shook his in disappointment.

"Interesting answer, Young Bakugo," Nezu said, "And I assume that's why followed him around to gyms, dojos, and even a secluded parts of the woods where you beat him up for trying to train on March 5th of 2330." The boy cringed as the rat thing added, "Don't be like that. I have eyes everywhere." He looked at the boy with a dangerous gleam in his eyes adding, "And I mean everywhere." The boy simply nodded his head. "I feel the real reason why you bullied him was that you, on a subconscious level, knew that young Midoriya, though quirkless, would have made a much better hero than you ever hoped to be, but that's only speculation."

Nezu then said, "Now before we divulge something related to your previous school. Let's talk about your complexes and how they affect you on every scale in your life."

The boy frowned and muttered under his breath, "I don't have a complex…"

He was smacked by his mom, "Please principal carry on, we're listening…"

Nezu began, "First off when asked by Hound Dog what will you do if you find a civilian in the middle of the crossfire of a battle with you and a villain, your immediate response was that it wasn't your fault that some extra stood in the way of your fight. Secondly, it sounds like you see heroism as only fighting and no one other than yourself is worth living or anything. And finally, you see to carry yourself above others who are weaker than you, while the ones who are stronger you keep kissing up to them until you can beat them."

Nezu then said, "Let's begin with how I see your personality; first off, I have come to the conclusion that it's your superiority and inferiority complexes that stops you from saving others. In a fight that involves you, you either see the villain as someone lesser than you or someone stronger than you, so you need to prove that you're better than them. Your regular Joe in your eyes is someone lesser than you, so your superiority complex prevents you from saving him since your inferiority complex won't allow you to leave the fight even if it kills you or anyone else. However, when a disaster strikes, since you are the stronger party, you don't help anyone since you believe that you are better than this due to your superiority complex." Nezu took a sip from his cup of tea, "And when confronted about it, you use your anger issues as a defense mechanism, since even in your mind, subconsciously that is, you know that what you did is wrong."

Everyone looked at him as he asked, "Did I miss something in my analysis?"

Bakugo was about to yell how everything he said was wrong, but his father said, "No. you described my son exactly. He would rather die and let people suffer before he backs down from a fight. I should have seen it earlier, but better late than never."

Nezu hummed, "I agree so, but now moving to your old school. I saw in many videos that your teachers talked to you many times before you attacked Izuku. Can you tell me why?"

The boy shrugged, "To remind me how great I am. Tell me that I should keep Deku in his place. How he's a less evolved being than I am. How the strong have the right to walk over the weak."

His parents gasped; what kind of things were they teaching their son in that school?

Nezu then asked, "Do you know why they did that, Young Bakugo?" the boy shrugged because they told him what he wanted to hear so why question it? It was unnecessary back then.

Nezu then said, "Because they saw a potential member for their organization in you."

Bakugo raised an eyebrow and his mom asked, "What organization are you talking about?" the woman had a vague idea, but she was hoping that she was wrong because she didn't want her son to be actually taught by crazy self-righteous terrorists.

Nezu carried on, "Well according to my humble research, your school was driven by people devoted to an old terrorist group who sought to turn our country into an open fire zone range where everyone would do as he pleased. You might have heard this name somewhere in your history books…" Nezu then named them, "Meta Liberation Army"

Bakugo raised an eyebrow, "Yeah, I heard them talk about it once. About some guy who wanted to remove restrictions on quirks. Honestly doesn't sound that bad..."

Nezu laughed saying, "Of course on paper, it doesn't sound bad, but look at the ideals and beliefs closer and the problems begin to appear. They believed that people with lesser quirks are meant to be pushed aside to make way for the needs of those with stronger quirks. God forbid if you were quirkless then that means to them that you are nothing but dirt. That people with strong quirks should be praised endlessly," he began to shake his cup of tea, "You can say that they will lie to someone to make them think that they're always right and everyone weaker than him is wrong."

He looked at the blond and said, "Does that sound familiar to you, Bakugo?"

The boy's eyes were opened wide; where everything his shitty teachers told him was just a lie? A lie to make him join some shitty organization. Now that he thought about it, he did hear one of the teachers once talking about how he'll make a fine addition…

Was his entire life nothing but a huge lie?

Nezu then said, "I'll let you brew on that, but let's move to the orphanage reports."

The rat thing began skimming them, "For what it appears that no incident happened there, so there's a boon on your end, Young Bakugo." He said to the boy who was dazed out after having his entire world shatter, "However, let's look at what the children said."

The boy snapped out of his daze and gulped. In his entire month and a half there, the boy didn't manage to make any meaningful friendships there. Given that the children were quirkless and his admittedly less than stellar opinion toward quirkless, which was in the open by the way, made all the children hesitant in coming near him. Also, that kid that caught his attention really didn't help him either by telling everyone to back away from him. Yeah, he was in deep trouble.

The principal hummed, "Wow, all of them said one thing that you're scary beyond belief," the boy's head fell, "however, there are two interesting letters from the orphanage from two known as Hiro and Mui; those are their opinion respectively: Not all that bad and very persistent."

The boy lifted his head hopefully, "Does that mean I'll go back to the hero course?"

The rat thing shook his head, "Sadly, no." the boy was confused, "Remember our deal was for one child to say that you of all people can be a hero and can make them feel safe. No one said that…"

Bakugo lowered his head again; he lost the ability to be angry the moment he learned that all the times he was being praised might have been nothing, but an attempt to brainwash him. That was a fool they hoped to enroll in some whacky 24th-century genocide.

The boy looked down bitterly to the floor, 'I guess I'll go to the villain center in Shiketus after all.'

Nezu then carried on, "…however, I came up with a third solution for you." The boy looked at him, "Going on forward, you'll be put into a probation program where you'll have therapy including family therapy until we get rid of all your issues. Furthermore, you'll still participate in the orphanage. In addition to that, you'll be doing all kinds of community service."

Bakugo nodded his head at the opportunity, but there was always a butt with Nezu, "However, your training will be put on halt for about a year where you'll wear a quirk-canceling bracelet. Plus, your introduction to the hero scene might wait a couple of years till we deem you fit of being a hero."

The boy sighed in annoyance, "Fine. I just want to be a hero. I'll do whatever it takes."

Nezu smiled, "Now, that's the spirit. However, you might not know. At the end of it, you might not be interested in becoming a hero anymore…"

Bakugo jumped, "What the hell do you mean? It was my childhood dream to become one."

Nezu's smile widened, "You said it yourself your childhood dream."

The boy was beyond confused now as he stuttered, "I-I d-don't get what you mean, sir."

Nezu explained, "Young Bakugo, tell me what did the teachers tell you from the time you were a child? That you should be a hero, right? That you're meant to be one. The next big shot in the hero world." The boy lost his strength as he sat down, "I hate to say it to you, but most of them were lying to get on your good side especially you know who because they need strong heroes who believed in their cause."

Bakugo then yelled having reached his emotional breaking point, "So what now? I just lay down and look for another job? I want to become a hero and that's final…"

Nezu shook his head, "Of course not, I'm not telling you to give up on your dream if you still believed yourself to be fit to be a hero, but remember every job need certain criteria to have its member work to their utmost ability, and a hero's job greatest requirement is: the will to save others. All the heroes need to be ready to save others even the most self-centered of them save people if only for the public face." he then looked straight in the eye, "And I mean every hero from daylight heroes, to combat heroes, to rescue heroes, to relief heroes, to underground; all of them have to throw everything down and save people. If you don't have that will young Bakugo, you won't make it. And when I said if you want to continue being a hero, I meant that at the end of it, you might find a new passion."

Nezu then observed Bakugo, "I mean you could become a capable hero with many takedowns, but if you can't rescue people and leave them to die while you fight villains, everyone will be against you if your takedowns are at their lives expense. In that case, I see you more as a quirk wrestler. That way you can prove your strength like you want."

The rat thing then said, "Well, that's all the time I have for today. I will email your parents your new schedule." He then looked at Eraserhead, "Can you escort them to the gate?"

The man nodded his head, "Come on. I'll take you to the front gate after we hit the cafeteria because I'm sure Bakugo needs something to eat or he'll have a meltdown."

Bakugo's parents who were keen on observing nodded their heads; they hoped this program will do its best to put their son back on the right track and remove any ideas implanted into his head.

As they reached the door, Nezu yelled, "Young Bakugo, I need you to ask yourself a question when you reach home."

The boy looked at him and nodded, "Do you really want to be a hero, or is it just because everyone told you to be one?"

The boy turned and walked away as All Might came from a corner hidden in the room and said, "That was harsh even for you, Nezu sir. I think you might have broken him."

Nezu had a solemn look on his face, "I prefer that than having dead bodies on the streets because he decided that saving someone isn't worth his time and effort." The man then added, "Even Endeavor, for all his flaws, saves people as much as he can."

All Might rubbed the back of his head, "Yeah, I admit that you have a point there."

Nezu then chirped happily, "On other news, how are the preparations for our exams today?"

All Might coughed into his fist, "I still don't like the idea of blindsiding the students like this suddenly, but just for your information, everyone is ready for their part in the exams."

Nezu smiled sipping his tea, "Oh, I truly can't wait for the three of us to clash minds."

Right now, with Izuku, he was walking with Tokage to school. He couldn't help but feel something bad was about to happen, "Man, I don't know why, but something feels seriously off today."

The girl looked at him curiously, "What do you mean? Everything seems normal." She then said, "I get it. It must be your mating season given that you're as cute as a bunny." The girl smirked as she saw the boy stumble in his steps and almost fall on his face from embarrassment.

The boy covered his face and said, "Setchan, don't say that. People might get the wrong idea."

The girl then pressed herself against his side as she put her hand on his chest, "What if I want them to, Izuchan? I mean you're one of the hottest guys in our class." He pinched his cheek, "You're a catch. Any lady would be lucky to have your children…" she then blushed heavily moving to school as her teasing managed to get her too.

Izuku looked at her shocked, "Well, I guess that even she has her limits." He then tried to catch up.

Inside the classroom, the students were sitting waiting for their first class to begin. It was history and a lot of students didn't like given how complicated it was. They hoped that Midnight would go easy on them with today's lecture.

Setsuna then entered the classroom followed by Izuku, "Good morning, mortals. Your queen has finally arrived." She then put out her hand, "Don't be afraid to kiss it."

Kamakiri then yelled from the side, "All hail Her Highness. Queen Setsuna of shit mountain." The class began to laugh as the girl's face flew before sending her finger sand poking the boy in the eyes causing him to cry out in pain, "Hey, my eyes are sensitive."

The girl huffed crossing her arms, "Never mess with a Tokage. We'll eat you on lunch."

The boy scoffed and flipped her off making the girl's eyebrow twitch as she turned her attention to other things like talking to her friends. The girl sat down and asked, "So how is studying going for you? Last night, I stayed till 3 in the morning preparing for the exams."

Izuku then said, "I understand that. I stayed till 5 in the morning. I only had 3 hours of sleep after I decided not to do my morning exercises."

Kendo then asked, "Midoriya, I never asked, but what kind of morning routine do you have?"

The boy hummed a little, "Well, I usually start with some stretches, but my routine consists of 100 push-ups, 100 pull-ups, 100 squats, 100 crunches, a 10-mile run…" Setsuna then put a hand on his mouth. The raised an eyebrow moving her hand away, "Is there a problem?"

The girl then said, "Dude, your workout regime makes me feel like I'm lazy. And just hearing it makes every bone in my body hurt." The others nodded their heads.

The boy argued, "Not really. I mean my quirk is related to my strength so it's supposed to be this intense." The others fell as Tetsu jumped up crying about manly Izuku was.

Kendo neck-chopped him, "That isn't normal, Midoriya. Your body will begin to hurt you at some point. Does your trainer approve of this? My father runs a gym and a dojo, and he kicked someone out for suggesting this idea." The boy remembered when All Might punched him in the face for suggesting this.

Kinoko then said, "I guess by his silence, his trainer doesn't approve of this, does he?"

The boy whistled innocently as Setsuna neck-chopped him, "Don't do that to yourself. You might get injured or worse." The boy looked away in embarrassment.

Kinoko shook her head, "You truly are the little brother of the class."

The boy pouted crossing his arms, "I'm not. I mean you're shorter than me." The mushroom girl would have been offended if she hadn't heard that line a million times before, so she simply clapped her hands slowly.

Tetsu then added, "I think for you to be the younger brother of the class, you have to act like one."

Izuku huffed indignantly, "I don't attack like the younger brother of the class. I never acted like one…" he was silenced when Kendo hugged him.

The orange-haired girl then said, "Hush, little one. I mean you only go in crazy situations and give all of us heart attacks. If that's not a younger brother, I don't know what is."

Setsuna, who had a strained smile, coughed, "Itsuka, you might want to let him go. People are getting the wrong idea." The orange-haired girl raised an eyebrow and saw the boy blushing because his face was in her… um, chest.

She quickly let go with a blush on her face, "I swear I didn't mean to do that."

Tetsu, who was feeling a bit funny, patted her on the back, "We know you didn't and that's what makes you our fun and dense big sister of 1-B."

The girl looked offended, "I am not dense…" They all pointed to Izuku who was still blushing and boiling with Tokage fanning him to calm him down causing her to say, "I see your point, but still…"

The girl was stopped when they saw Vlad enter the room holding a huge stack of papers and a sealed envelope with a huge red stamp on it that said 'EXAMS'; this caused the entire class to pale.

Shoda then asked, "Umm Vlad-sensei, those seem a little bit heavy. Do you want me to help you take them to the teacher's room after we're finished with today's lesson?"

The man chuckled, "Thanks for the assist, Shoda. That we'd make me happy." The class sighed in relief, but Vlad added, "But you'll deliver after you all are done with today's final exams."

Ibara exclaimed, "What? But I thought we had at least two weeks before the exams…"

The man shrugged, "DEAL WITH IT, MAGGOTS! YOU AREN'T THE ONLY WHO ARE DOING THEIR EXAMS," the man then added, "but for my small amount of love that I feel toward you my midgets, I'll give you 5 minutes to review…" the class sighed in relief but he then said, "…which started 2 minutes ago. Good luck, kids. You're going to need it."

The students all came out of the classroom with exhausted faces 6 hours later. Some students were crawling on the ground from mental exhaustion. Awase then said, "That was the closest thing to torture, but I managed to at least write everything. Thank you, everyone, for your help. I can die now." The boy's soul then tried to leave his body, but Ibara stopped it by whacking him awake.

The girl grabbed him and said, "Don't try that again." She hugged him, "I thought you were hurt. You made me worried about your health." The boy blushed and looked away.

The girl then helped him up and they both heard whistling for Tokage, "Ibara and Yosetsu sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G." the girl chuckled a little, "Man, you two are meant to be together."

Both students blushed, but Kinoko then showed Setsuna something that made her pout and say, "I'm sorry for teasing you guys." She then walked away with a frown on her face.

She truly hated that the little mushroom girl had blackmail material on her. It made her feel outplayed in her own game, but she swore to have revenge.

She knew that the little mushroom fairy had something for their resident emo lord; she only needs a picture. Only one picture is what she needs to come back.

She smirked as she decided to follow the girl and she saw her getting hugged by the emo lord. She was about to take the picture when Vlad came back, "Everyone, get inside your hero costume and meet me in front of the school."

The students shuffled to the changing rooms with disgruntled looks. they grumbled about wanting some time to rest their minds, but they knew that they weren't going to have it.

The students quickly finished putting on their hero costumes and headed toward the front of the school.

Class 1-B arrived at the front after 5 minutes only to be shocked when they found their sister class there.

Momo smiled and went to greet Itsuka, "Good morning, Itsuka. I have to say that it's a surprise that you're here. My teacher told me that we are doing our exams here." The girl thought for a little, "Perhaps, we'll watch each other's exams to have an idea about each class's ability."

Itsuka nodded her head, "I suppose that is reasonable." She then looked back at her classmates, "I remember my friend from the third year telling me that in the next semester, we have joint class training, so it would be good to have an idea of what each class can do."

The students nodded their heads seeing this as a reasonable explanation. Itsuka then saw Iida and Todoroki glaring at her class specifically Kamakiri and Midoriya, with the former growling at them and the latter trying to formulate a winning plan against any teacher he may come up against not noticing them in the first place.

Jiro then said, "If you're wondering why ice prince and Sonic are here, turns out that both clowns were shoved temporarily into general studies to readjust their attitude."

The orange-haired girl replied, "I'm more interested in how Iida is present. I heard that he had a harsh injury from Stain. It's not possible that he managed to do a rebound that quickly."

Jiro quirked an eyebrow, "Now that you mention it, how did he come back so quickly?" she turned to the blue-haired boy, "Yo Iida, how did you come back so quickly I heard that you were injured horribly. I thought it would take you at least a couple more weeks to see you here."

The boy smiled though anyone can see it is strained, "I went beyond 'Plus Ultra' on my body."

Ochako then went to him, "Do you mean that you pushed yourself too hard?" the boy looked away and Ochako shook her head, "Honestly, Iida… this could lead to your injuries becoming worse."

Iida patted her on the back, "Don't worry about that Uraraka. I came through this, I come through anything harder." The entire time he was still glaring at Izuku.

Kamakiri having had enough of this, "Oi, sonic…" the boy looked at him, "Stop looking at us like we committed a crime against you, so keep your eyes to yourself."

The blue-haired boy was about to retort, but Momo replied, "I'm sorry about that Kamakiri. I'll make sure that my classmate stops doing that." The girl looked at the boy and silently told him to be quiet and not to stir more trouble.

The boy walked away, but Momo moved on nudging Shoto to do the same thing, but the boy ignored her and contained glaring. At this point, he truly loathes those two. The lecture his father gave him was brutal, especially after hearing what he did.

He wasn't bothered that his son fought the hero killer, but he was mad that his son sabotaged other people and almost got them killed. He also was afraid that Shoto still refused to use his fire.

Kaminari then said, "Man, I'm terrified that we might fight the teachers." He shivered a little, "I don't know if I'm up to it. I mean they are pros…"

A voice came from behind them, "In that case Kaminari, you have to rise to the responsibility of being a hero…" the boy looked behind him to see his homeroom teacher walking up to them with the other teachers from different courses. The message was clear; they were fighting them.

Suddenly, someone fell from the sky and landed in front of the students. It was All Might who said, "I am here to test the students in the practical portion of the finals."

The students almost fell over knowing that two of them might have to fight All Might. Ibara then put her hands in a prayer position, "For those who have to fight All Might, I wish them the best of luck and god's divine protection because they are going to need it."

"Believe me when I say that need this prayer," Nezu said popping out from Eraserhead's scarf, "it seems that you all saw what we planned for you in today's exams. Not shocking given how smart some of your classmates are, but there are some details that we must tell you beforehand."

Nezu smiled, "First off, I must tell you that no one will know whom they are going against because we want to make the exam as realistic as possible. You'll know who you are up against when you enter the exam area because we don't want to give you a head start."

Awase then raised his hand, Vlad answered him, "Life is unfair. Deal with it." The boy lowered it.

Nezu chuckled, "Furthermore, I must tell you that you won't know whom you are paired with until the time of the exam because in realistic cases, heroes are paired at random and on the spot."

Izuku gulped, 'They really thought of everything, but on the other hand, they must have given us some type of advantage that hinder the teachers…"

Izuku was cut off by Nezu saying, "And Mr. Midoriya brings me to my third point," the boy put a hand on his mouth knowing he muttered out loud, "Myself and teachers are going to weight compressing weights which will make the exam much fairer."

Izuku's eyebrow twitched, 'How in the world is that making things much fairer? Snipe's quirk is the ability to shoot, and weights won't hinder him. In fact, none of the heroes will be hindered since most of them have non-physical quirks that don't require mobility. In fact, the only hero hindered is Eraserhead, but he's lifted heavier if that video from the hero net says something…"

Nezu then said, "I have to say young Midoriya that I didn't look at it this way, however, everything is set in motion." The boy facepalmed as Kamakiri patted him on the back, "There, there, stutter. We all have our embarrassing moments. I'll make sure to immortalize it."

Nezu carried on, "And finally, each one of the teams and opponents were picked thoroughly…"

Nezu and the other heroes in the facility were discussing the finals. "It seems that this year was out of the ordinary. Our students were subjected to multiple nerve-wracking events, but they managed to survive them and reach the finals of this year."

Powerloder then said, "I already have the robots ready for testing processes. I'll start deploying them today into the assigned arenas…" he looked at his monitor, but a cough grabbed his attention.

Midnight asked, "Is it wise to still test our students with the robots like last year and the ones before? What happened this year I highly doubt will be a passing event."

"I agree with her," Present Mic said, "We should prepare our students for the upcoming challenges and those robots aren't enough. We need to put something more challenging to test their abilities."

Aizawa then said, "The dangers of being a hero are increasing and it's our job to prepare the students to face them." The nighttime hero then looked at his papers, "We have to make this year's exams something special to sink in this point. We need to show the students what kind of dangers they are fighting. We need to show them that it isn't them who finds the fight, the fight comes to them." The other teachers nodded their heads in agreement.

Nezu hummed, "I think that I have an idea. It's something that I've been thinking about for a couple of years now." Everyone looked at him, "Why don't we fight the students?"

Vlad then said, "Alright, I'm down with it. I'll make sure to give my students hell." He was smacked by Midnight making him frown.

The woman then said, "Cool down your blood, Vlad. Are you sure Nezu? Wouldn't it be better to put some third year against them to make things a little bit fairer?"

Ectoplasm then said, "The world isn't a fair place. We just can't afford to coddle them," the hero then rubbed his chin, "However we do need to do something to limit our abilities. We're trained professionals after all. Putting them against us without some hindrance on them will be an automatic failure."

Cementoss replied, "I don't think that there's anything that can stop me. My quirk is really simple, but it is effective for opponents whose quirks have a time limit."

Nezu hummed, "We'll figure something out, but how are we going to do this?"

Snipe then said, "Well, I believe that we should divide them into teams, and pin them against one of us in each round or another member of U.A. where they'll be in a fight or flight case."

Eraserhead hummed, "If it's a fight, they need to at least handcuff their opponent or catch him while making sure he can't move anymore. If it's flight, they have to make a strategy where their opponent is tricked into lowering his guard allowing them to spill through or fight their way out."

The heroes all hummed in agreement as Nezu said, "I suppose that we will do match-ups from each class with their classmates. We will have 1-B the practical exam while 1-A takes the written one, and then we will reverse the turns…" he was cut off by All Might raising his hand.

All Might asked, "Is it really a good idea for us to have the children from each class work together?"

Aziawa looked at him curiously, "What are going at, Yagi?" the man then smiled, "For once, you are saying something that I agree with." He clapped a bit, "Carry on…"

Toshinori fought the urge to glare, but carried on, "I mean in regular heroics you rarely have a chance to know whom you are fighting with or against," the heroes agreed with him, "Wouldn't it be much more beneficial if the students were paired 1 from each class?"

Nezu hummed a little and looked at All Might, "I am interested, Yagi. Carry on."

The man coughed, "What I mean is simple," everyone looked at him, "All those students from both classes know each other and are well-versed in how each other thinks." He then smiled a little, "However, when it comes to the other class, they don't know much other than the little time they spent together whether be it the sports festival or outside activities. If we pair them 1 from each class, we'll make the case as realistic as possible."

Nezu began to laugh evilly, "Oh, Toshinori. You just gave me the most wonderful idea. These exams will really put our students through the wringer, but they will come out of it ten times stronger."

The rat thing then said, "Now, let's begin talking about how works with who is paired with whom."

Thirteen then said, "If we're talking about pairing then it should be people who would help each other through a tough spot or have a common trait that they might want to work together to beat such as Tsuburaba, Kaminari, Ashido, and Awase all have low grades, so they need to be put in an environment where they'll be forced to think their way through."

Hound Dog added, "She's right. We can't just pair them left and right. They at least have to have something in common so they can work together…"

The teachers then began to arrange the students and put them in groups of two; 1 student from 1-A and 1 student from 1-B. however, this left 1-A short on 1 student which caused 1 student from 1-B to be alone. The teachers weren't sure what to do till Aizawa said, "I have a suggestion. Given that Bakugo is going to be expelled as all signs are pointing to, how about we add Shinso to the hero course? It would be unfair to make him wait another year."

Midnight said, "Shota, look I know that you like the kid, but he's so far behind. I mean you are setting him up to fail. How about you wait till next year when he'll have a better chance?"

The man replied, "Illogical. If he waits till next year, he'll be too far behind."

Present Mic then said, "I have no problem with that," Aizawa sensed a 'but' coming, "but it's a little bit unfair. There are a lot of general students who are much stronger than Shinso… in their build and muscles not their quirk who also deserves a chance to be put inside the hero course. Some of them have mental quirks too, you know? One of them has some kind of a fear quirk that causes someone to be trapped inside their greatest fear for an hour by just looking in their eyes."

Aizawa hummed, "I understand, and don't think that I picked Shinso from random. I saw everyone; some of them have potential, but Shinso worked hard and even managed to reach a good place in the sports festival. He has good relations with the hero students from both classes, so I think he's the most suitable." He crossed his arms, "but in the end, it's your call Nezu."

The rat thing seemed to be deep in thought, but he said, "I'll allow it to slide…" Aizawa smiled, but he then noticed the gleam in Nezu's eyes, "…but next year and the coming year, you'll begin to join our orientation and you'll begin to read student files. We don't want a repetition of our dear friend Midoriya." The man cringed a little, but everyone swore they saw his soul leaving his body when Nezu added, "And no more napping during your class. You'll wake up during the entire class."

The nighttime hero nodded his head as he slumped forward with a hollow look in his eyes. He got what he wanted, but at what cost? This is truly horrible; his nap time. His precious nap time is gone. This was a cruel and unusual type of punishment.

After that was settled, the heroes began to discuss who will fight whom. And they asked if they should ask for help from outside the school if they didn't have enough members to do the exams.

In the end, Nezu looked at everything with a smile on his face and said, "Gentlemen, you have finished your objective. Now all we have to do is do the exams."

The teachers left the conference room and each went to his classroom or station.

Nezu smiled, "This year's exams are going to be wonderful and amazing."

The students looked at Nezu. Ibara then asked, "Sir, what are the objectives of the exams?"

The rat thing smiled, "It is very simple. The students will be paired in 2; 1 student from 1-A and 1 student from 1-B. you'll be sent to a city where you'll find the hero you'll face waiting for you at the gate, and when you enter the time of the exam begins. You all have half an hour." He then summoned cuffs, "From that point forward, you can either catch the hero or run away calling for reinforcements with a button placed at the gate. You need to hit it before you escape or you'll be failed since an escape without calling for help means you left people to fend for themselves."

Mina then asked, "Are you sure it's cool to just call for help and bolt it?"

Nezu smiled, "Of course, Young Ashido. Heroes do strategic retreats all the time to reorganize their ranks in case they were overwhelmed." The girl nodded her head.

Aizawa then said, "But there is something that you all need to know…" All the students looked at him and he sighed. He knew this moment was coming, but he still didn't like it, "Starting for this morning and forward, Bakugo is no longer a part of the hero course…"

The man can hear the gasps of disbelief from everyone in his class, especially the detective squad. He really should have talked to them, but he thinks it's the reason why Nezu made his deal to put Shinso in class 1-A hard, and why he accepted All Might's proposal, "…naturally, this left a spot open in his place, so…" a shadow fell over them as someone jumped to the ground in front of Eraserhead wearing attire similar to that of the hero.

"…I decided to make Shinso a part of the hero course." Eraserhead finished his explanation.

Shinso then walked forward, "This will be my entrance exam to the hero course," he then looked at both classes and said, "…but now that I'm not here to make friends with anyone."

At that, the students began to laugh at him making getting angry, "What is the hell so funny about this? I'm serious. I'm not here to make friends…" he was then moved toward Yanagi causing him to blush as she looked at him.

She then asked, "But aren't we friends, Shinso-kun?" she said catching everyone by surprise, but some girls were happy that they found a new clue to their ship.

The boy stuttered to give out a response as Aizawa chuckled from behind at the scene. Don't get him wrong; he was against romance in general, but seeing his student turn into a tomato was funny. It was worth all the sleepless hours in addition to his torture.

Kaminari then added, "Plus dude, like you keep hanging out with us or class 1-B." the purple-haired boy looked away, "We're already your friends at this point so why not admit that you're one of us."

The students began to cheer for him to join as he looked at his mentor for help, but the man looked away. He finally yielded and stood by their side.

Nezu approached Shinso and said, "Young Shinso, I'm happy to tell you that you will be a wonderful addition to the hero course." The rat thing paused for a moment before adding, "But in the exam, you'll be judged, unlike the others, for example, you'll be judged for overall performance, attitude, body strength, fighting style, and another bunch of stuff to make sure that you are fit to enter the hero course. Are you aware of that?"

The boy gulped but nodded his head. Before, he thought that only his quirk can help him, but now after having his ass handed to him by Aizawa many times; he knows that body strength is just as important as the other factors.

Nezu smiled and clapped his hands, "Good, but now you'll still have summer school to catch up to the other students. Is there a problem with that?"

Although peeved a little, he understood where the principal was coming from. Shinso didn't have enough training or knowledge so it's only fair that he takes extra courses. He opted to nod his head.

Nezu smiled, "Good, good. Because believe summer school for you will be hell on earth. It will be torture in the morning followed by a sprinkle of torture for breakfast. A little torture in between classes and so on. You get the idea." The boy paled, but still found it in him to nod.

The rat thing then said, "Alright, everyone to the watching room with Recovery Girl or you can go and lounge in the waiting room. Every two students will have their name called out to them, and robotic helpers to guide them to the bus that will take them to the examining area."

The students nodded and went inside the building.

The students entered the monitoring building and waited for a couple of minutes till a voice rang out, "Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu and Eijiro Kirishima. Please head to your bus. Your exam will begin shortly after you arrive."

The manly duo said goodbye to their friends and went to their bus. They sat and began to exchange small talk till they arrived where they saw Cementoss waiting for them at the front of the gate.

The cement hero said, "I hope you are both ready for the exam because I won't be going easy on you. And for your sake, I hope you don't underestimate me."

The two nodded their heads as the three entered the city. Cementoss despite his frame quickly disappeared and the two began searching for him. It took them 5 minutes, but they finally found the man sitting on the ground causing Kirishima to say, "Well, this seems easier than it should be."

Tetsu looked at this suspiciously and said, "Now that you mention it; yeah, it does seem too easy."

The cement hero then put his hands on the ground and began to manipulate the cement and push it forward toward the boys. Walls of cement were being put in front of their faces, but Kirishima said, "Let's break through those walls and grab Sensei."

Tetsu then yelled, "Yeah, let's go and grab him." The two boys began to punch through the walls. It was easy at first, but the longer they went the harder it became.

Tetsu felt that they were about to lose till he remembered something when they were at Momo's house the previous day.

Izuku opened his notebook and picked Cementoss, "People with quirks that have a time limit might be put against him to find a way to capture him since he doesn't have a limit on his ability, so let's say someone like Tetsu needs to beat him, he needs to blindside him."

Tetsu then yelled, "Titanium Mode"

Kirishima looked at him and smiled, "Good thing, you brought the heavy guns out…"

Tetsu then said, "Keep him busy. I have a plan to catch him." The boy then began to plow his way through sideways taking Kirishima by surprise, but the boy continued fighting through the waves of cement.

It was only 2 minutes after Tetsu disappeared that Kirishima was finally overpowered. Cementoos walked over to him and said, "You shouldn't have put yourself in a war where time isn't your ally."

The boy looked up at him from where he was stuck and smirked, "And you shouldn't have lowered your guard." It was only then the hero noticed that Tetsu wasn't here, but it was too little.

The metal boy has used his power to plow through the cement and make his way around Cementoss and handcuff him, "Game over, Sensei. I win."

The hero smiled, "Good work, kids." The sirens then activated announcing the students' passing their practical exam.
