Chapter 338 - 2-5

Chapter 2: Player 1

After seeing the screen, Izuku understandably started to freak out. So many questions ran through his mind at a mile a minute. But just as quickly as the panic appeared, it vanished as a wave of calm washed over Izuku. A new screen appeared in front of Izuku. "All good games have a tutorial, and this one is no different. To begin the tutorial, please say "Begin Tutorial" out loud."

"Begin Tutorial?" Izuku asked, confused as to what was going on. He knew he should have still been freaking out, but he was almost completely calm. The only emotion going through his head was excitement at the possibility of a power of his own.

{Main Menu}

[Character Info/Inventory]

[Skill Tree/Quirk Skill Tree]

[Map]

[Quests]

[Party]

[Close Main Menu]

"This is the Main Menu. You can access this menu by saying or thinking the words Main Menu. In the Main Menu, there are 6 other menus as well as the option to close the menu. To open these other menus, simply say the name of the menu you wish to open. Party is the simplest. In Party you can view party members. Each party member will have their own Character Info sheet you can view. Currently, your party members are hidden. That will change in the future. Next is quests, this is also very simple. You can view quests you have been given, as well as information about those quests, like what rewards they give for completing them. Map is next. In this menu, you can see multiple different maps. You can also use this menu to fast travel to locations you have been to before. However, this doesn't work when in combat or when enemies are within 100 feet of you."

Izuku took a quick look at each of the explained menus before the tutorial moved on. When he returned to the main menu a new message was displayed. "The last two menus are more complicated. In Character Info/Inventory, you can see information about yourself, such as your quirks, skills you have, and your stats as well as allocate stat points you gain through leveling up. Stats can also be raised by completing an activity using that stat. For example, studying would raise your intelligence stat while lifting heavy objects would raise your strength stat. Because you have the Gamer, you will improve your stats at a much quicker rate than those without the system. You can also view and access your inventory. There is no limit to the number of items you can place in your inventory. The only requirement an object has to meet to be placed in your inventory is that it cannot be a living person or animal, and you have to be able to lift said object without the assistance of quirks or skills to boost your strength. The final menu is the most complicated. Skill Tree/Quirk Skill Tree contains skill trees that you can spend points to unlock and gain new skills. You can open that menu at a later time for a more in-depth tutorial on skills."

Seeing as he had nothing better to do, Izuku opened the Skill Tree menu.

{Skill Tree/Quirk Skill Tree Menu}

 [Base Skill Tree]

[Class Skill Tree]

 [Quirk Skill Tree (LOCKED)]

[Skill Points: 0]

[Quirk Skill Points: 0]

"This is the Skill Tree/Quirk Skill Tree Menu. As you can see, there are currently three different trees you can access. Certain Quests or Dungeon Rewards can grant access to other Skill Trees by giving you certain items or a new type of skill as a reward. Below the three different Skill Trees you can see your current number of Skill Points and Quirk Skill Points. Skill Points are used to unlock skills in the Base Skill Tree. Quirk Skill Points are used to unlock skills in the Quirk Skill Tree. The Class Skill Tree is a bit different. Instead of using skill points to gain new skills, you unlock new skills based on your Class Level. Some skills can be leveled up or upgraded, while others are already at their strongest once you obtain them and scale off of stats instead of leveling up. Skills that can level up will gain EXP every time they are used."

'I can't use the quirk skill tree because I don't have a quirk. But that will change soon!' Izuku was slightly ahead of schedule for finishing his task of cleaning a beach to prepare himself for the power he was going to receive. Izuku selected Base Skill Tree.

[Base Skill Tree]

(Skill: Gamer's Body) (Skill: Gamer's Mind)

(Skill: Passive Regeneration Unlock: 3 Skill Points) (Skill: Analyze Unlock: 1 Skill Point)

(Skill: Hidden) (Skill: Hidden)

There wasn't anything Izuku could do with the Base Skill Tree at the moment. He would need to level up a few times first, then he would get skill points. But who knew how many he would get per level up? Instead of wasting time speculating what he would find out later on, he tapped on the skills he had already unlocked.

[Skill: Gamer's Body]

[Type: Passive]

[Description: You are a gamer. Due to this, you cannot be permanently harmed in any way. After 8 hours of sleep, your Health, Stamina, and Mana will be restored to 100% and any injuries you may have suffered during the time between resting will be healed. You will not age past physical maturity. You can even regrow body parts and lost limbs should the need arise. You will also not need to sleep unless your Stamina or Health drop below a certain percentage.]

After reading that, Izuku got some ideas. Depending on how well he managed his Stamina, which he could see in the upper left corner of his vision along with his Health and Mana, he could potentially work on the beach and study for school non-stop. Then he read a warning that came with the skill that put any sort of idea of working for days and days out of his mind.

"Warning! While you may not need sleep, your brain would have difficulty adjusting to a constant state of consciousness without a time to rest and recharge, so staying up for long periods of time is strongly advised against unless absolutely necessary."

That warning made him rethink his plans and ditch them. He then read the other skill.

[Skill: Gamer's Mind]

[Type: Passive]

[Description: You are a Gamer. You cannot suffer from mental illnesses. Your emotions will never overwhelm you. Should an emotion almost overwhelm you, it will be suppressed enough for you to function, or silenced completely. Your mind is also capable of adapting to new situations easier than the average person. * Staying up for days at a time is still advised against! *]

Wow, the gamer had warned him twice that even if his body didn't need sleep, his mind still did. It really didn't trust him not to stay up until he finished cleaning the beach that he had been working on for months now. And that was fair, after all his mentor All Might had already scolded him for overworking himself. But since he really couldn't do much else with that skill tree Izuku moved on to the other one he could access.

[Class Skill Tree]

Other than the name of the menu, it the screen was blank. Izuku wasn't sure what was going on, but then another screen appeared.

"Your Class has been discovered. There are six tiers of classes. Common, Uncommon, Rare, Super Rare, Legendary, and Mythical. Higher rarity classes offer either a higher number of skills or better-quality skills. You can gain more skills by leveling up or evolving your class. Classes level up by gaining Class EXP. Class EXP can only be obtained from defeating enemies or as a reward for completing a dungeon. Quests will not give Class EXP. When certain classes reach Max Level, they can be evolved. Evolved classes go up one tier and revert to level one. Skills gained from your previous class will be retained unless your class undergoes an extreme change, like switching from a ranged attacker to a brawler. Low Tier classes can just evolve once they reach Max Level. High Tier classes will require a specific dungeon to be completed to evolve.

[Class: Dragonborn (Legendary) LVL 1]

[Skill Unlocked: Blood of the Ruby Dragon LVL 1/50

Type: Passive

Description: The blood of a powerful creature runs through your veins. It's power and potential are yours to unlock and discover.

Effects: Grants +2% fire damage to basic physical attacks (minimum of 1 extra damage) as well as a 1% chance to burn the target on basic attacks.]

[Skill Unlocked: Natural Armor LVL 1/25

Type: Passive/Active

Description: With the blood of dragons running through you, it causes certain physical changes in your body. One of those changes is tougher skin and bones. Scales can also be formed for further protection. Activation of this Skill costs Stamina.

Effects: Reduces Physical Damage by 1%, and Elemental Damage by 2%. Activating scales adds a .5 multiplier to those bonuses. If an attack is weak enough, all damage can be resisted.]

"So, forming scales would increase the physical damage reduction to 1.5% and the elemental damage reduction to 3%. At level 1 anyways."

[Skill Unlocked: Draconic Weapons LVL 1/10

Type: Active

Description: With the blood of dragons running through you, it causes certain physical changes in your body. One of those changes is sharp claws and teeth. Upon activation, your nails lengthen and sharpen, as do your teeth. Activation of this Skill costs Stamina.

Effects: Boosts Physical Damage by 10% and can cause bleeding on a target.]

It was honestly a really good think Izuku loved quirks so much. He could analyze them and tear apart how they worked, what their weaknesses were, and so many other things about them. And because Gamer's Mind was keeping him from freaking out, he could start working on figuring these skills out right away. "No percentage chance to make someone bleed. I guess it would depend how I use the claws and teeth. I could punch someone with the skill active, and they most likely wouldn't start bleeding unless I hit them in the face. But if I used the claws or teeth this skill would give me, that would be a different story." Izuku once again checked out the skill tree again.

[Class Skill Tree]

Class: Dragonborn (Legendary)

(Skill: Blood of the Ruby Dragon)

(Skill: Draconic Weapons) (Skill: Natural Armor)

(Skill: Draconic Strength Unlock: Class LVL 3)

(Skill: Hidden) (Skill: Hidden) (Skill: Hidden)

The only thing left for Izuku to do was look at his Character Sheet. He opened that screen, and he was pleasantly surprised by his stats. His physical stats were all at 13, and his mental stats were even more impressive. Charisma was, to his shock, at 19. He didn't think he was all that Charismatic, but clearly this system disagreed. His wisdom was slightly higher, being at 21. His intelligence stat was by far his highest. It was at 37. Almost as high as all his physical stats put together. And there was so much else as well! He tested out the inventory. He even put his own bed in it then took it back out. There was a list of skills he had, and he could see how much EXP he needed to level up and how much EXP his class needed to level up. It was incredible!

Despite it being a day to rest, that was no longer a possibility. He wouldn't be staying up for days at a time, but he also didn't need to worry about overworking himself because he would wake up each day feeling completely refreshed. So, he quickly got dressed and ate breakfast. He let his mom know where he would be and left the house.

Once Izuku got to the entrance of the beach, The Gamer did something he couldn't believe. There was the normal entrance to the beach, a simple stone archway. But about 10 feet to the left of the entrance, there was a swirling green portal of sorts.

[Takoba Beach Dungeon]

[Recommended LVL: LVL 1]

[Rewards: EXP, YEN, ???]

[Enter Dungeon?]

It was risky. Izuku had never been in a fight where he had actually got to throw a punch, not in a really long time anyways. But at the same time, it was a level one dungeon, and it couldn't be that hard. Right? To decide whether or not to go in, Izuku pulled a coin out of his wallet. "Heads I go in, Tails I don't and then I call All Might to tell him about all this." He then quickly put his wallet into his inventory, where something new appeared. The wallet itself, as well as Izuku's ID for his middle school, appeared in his inventory. But a new meter had appeared for his money. It currently read 2500 Yen. It wasn't much, but it was enough for a decent lunch at one of the nearby cafes.

One of the things Izuku was taught to never do was waste too much time. He flipped the coin, and it came up heads. Izuku looked at the enter dungeon part of the screen and said, "Enter Dungeon." The moment he did so, the portal sucked him in. Everything was green and the experience was similar to surfing, at least according to what he had been told by one of the nicer students at his middle school.

When the portal spit him out again, it looked like he was on the beach, but there was a clear difference. There was no trash anywhere. The beach was clean, and yet despite the beautiful view there wasn't a single other person in sight. In the top right corner of his vision, just like his Health, Stamina and Mana, there was a bar. He could see and read it perfectly despite where it was, and it read "Enemies Left: 12, Bosses left: 1" But there was still nothing there. Just an empty beach.

A screen appeared in front of Izuku's face. It read "Main Objective: Defeat all Enemies and Bosses. Starting in 15 seconds." The 15 second timer started counting down. When it reached zero, something exploded out of the sand and charged towards Izuku. Once again, Panic would have made him freeze in place, but Gamer's Mind activated, and a wave of calm washed over him. The creature charging him wasn't moving that fast, so Izuku got a good look at it. It looked like a large crab, about the size of a German Shepard, but it was made of scrap metal.

It was one of the strangest things Izuku had ever seen, and that was saying something because one of his classmates could pull his eyes out of their sockets. The crab moved fast, but not nearly as fast as the sludge villain that had attacked him a couple of months ago. Izuku dodged to the side once the crab got close, and it rushed past him. While it stopped and tried to turn around, Izuku ran over and stomped as hard as he could on the crab. The attack dented the crab's shell and buried it in the sand, but the crab dug itself out looking more angry than hurt by the attack. There was a small red health bar above the crab's head. It looked like that stomp had taken it's health down by about 15%, but it was hard to say for sure.

The next time the crab attacked, it actually landed a hit on Izuku and tore his shirt sleeve. The attack didn't do much damage though. Izuku assumed it was because of his natural armor skill. He activated his natural weapons skill, and felt his nails and teeth elongate and sharpen. His teeth wouldn't do much good in the fight, and neither would his claws most likely. Even if Izuku could get the chance to use them, the crab was made of metal. That would break his teeth and claws, even if they did damage in the process. Metal was hard to pierce, even thin metal. So, his best bet was to just use the damage boost the skill gave him. But that would still be difficult. It would take six or seven hits to kill the crab if he kept attacking the same was as before, even with the damage boost. With eleven other enemies, plus two boss enemies, he would tire himself out long before he finished the dungeon. There had to be a chink in the crab's armor, one that would allow Izuku to do more damage.

There were two immediately obvious points that Izuku could try to attack. The crab's eyes weren't made of metal. That stood to reason that it was just the shell that was made of metal, not the insides of the crab. If that was the case, then if Izuku could pierce the eyes of the crab with his claws, then he might do some serious damage. But the eyes were small, and the crab was quick. "I might not be able to line up an attack. So, the eyes are out unless I can find some way to immobilize it." Onto the next weak point. One that Izuku could only do because he was fairly strong. "If I can grab his claws, I might be able to rip them off or crush them. The metal isn't all that strong, so it's worth a try." That would be a much easier method to test. The crab mainly attacked by charging forward and snapping at Izuku with its claws. The crab was fast, but not fast enough to give Izuku trouble dodging. Grabbing the claws should be simple, plus even if he got hit it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Once again, the crab charged Izuku, but this time he had a plan to deal with it. It wasn't difficult to grab the claws, but the armor on them was much stronger than he thought. He couldn't rip them off or crush them, but when he tried, there was a small burst of flames from Izuku's hands that seemed to hurt the crab. "Thats right! I have fire damage on my attacks! When I buried it with my last one, it must have doused the fire before I saw it." The crab ripped itself free of Izuku's grip but landed on its back. Then Izuku saw the real weak spot.

All the plating on the crab came to one spot in the middle of the crab's stomach. It left a seam there that would be easy to pierce. Izuku drove his claws into that seam with as much force as he could muster, and it worked. His claws entered the crab and there was a spray of blood. When Izuku pulled his hand out, his claws didn't even look scratched, though it was slightly hard to tell when they were covered in blood. That had done much more damage, and the crab dissolved into nothing, leaving only a small pile of yen behind. Izuku put it into his inventory but before he could see how much it was, another, larger crab appeared. Izuku used the same strategy. He used its own momentum to flip it over this time, but the result was the same. A crab on its back, and claws in its belly. More yen dropped when it died.

And those were the rest of the enemies. Ten more crabs appeared, each one slightly bigger than the last, and ten crabs died. The last crab was almost as big as Izuku and almost too heavy for him to lift, but he managed to do it and he chucked the crab as far as he could, then killed it with his claws. It was the toughest of the crabs he had fought and actually survived the first hit, so he had to repeat the process.

Izuku was covered in blood from the crabs, a little from himself when one got a good hit in, and ash from the fires he caused when he attacked. Once he killed the last one, all his class skills leveled up to level two. His fire damage had increased by 2%, his damage reductions increased by 1% each, and his attack boost from Natural weapons doubled, so now he did 20% more damage. His claws got slightly longer and sharper, as did his teeth. Then the boss spawned. A metal crab that was at least twice the size of him burst out of the sand. The only words he could get out before it charged him were "Oh crap!"

Chapter 3

"Oh crap!" After Izuku said that he jumped to the side as the crab lashed out with its claws. As the crab ran past Izuku punched it in the side, only for his fist to be stopped cold by the metal protecting the crab, although the burst of fire did seem to leave a mark on the place he hit.

Before Izuku had a chance to think of a plan, the crab attacked again. This time it hit Izuku and sent him flying into the hole it climbed out of. The crab stood over the hole but didn't climb into it to attack Izuku. This gave him some time to think of a plan. "I can't hurt it much by attacking it's shell. Not a big surprise, because even the first crab I fought had tough enough armor to resist direct damage." Izuku had leveled up to level 2, something he only now noticed since it didn't come with any sort of notification like the skill level ups did. He could have put a few levels into strength, but he knew it most likely wouldn't have helped much. The crab's armor was too strong for Izuku to win using brute strength, unless he could double his strength anyways. But maybe the level up would do something else for him. He opened his skill tree. Leveling up had given him skill points. Four, to be exact. Something about how his first level up gave him some sort of achievement that gave him an extra two skill points when he checked his character sheet.

[Base Skill Tree]

(Skill: Gamer's Body) (Skill: Gamer's Mind)

(Skill: Passive Regeneration Unlock: 3 Skill Points) (Skill: Analyze Unlock: 1 Skill Point)

(Skill: Hidden) (Skill: Hidden)

So, Izuku bought both the available skills, not bothering to check the two that would be revealed. The regeneration was simple, and not very helpful at the moment because of the fact that it didn't work in combat.

[Skill: Passive Regeneration LVL 1/5]

[Type: Passive]

[Description: When not in combat for at least 30 seconds, you regenerate health at a rate of 10% per second. This cannot restore lost limbs, but that will change at higher levels, as will how much the skill regenerates.]

The other skill was possibly much more helpful.

[Skill: Analyze]

[Type: Active]

[Description: Using this skill has different effects depending on what it is used on. When used on an enemy it will reveal the enemy's current Health, Stamina, Mana, LVL, Class, and highest stat. When used on an ally/party member, it will reveal the same, but will also show the highest-level skill. When used on a neutral target, it will display the same as an enemy, as well as how easily they could be turned into an enemy. When used in a dungeon without a specific target in mind, it will show the rewards for the dungeon, how many enemies you have left, and display how many secrets the dungeon may hold.]

It was a long shot, but maybe the dungeon would have something useful for beating the crab. Because as it was, Izuku didn't have much other option. Izuku used the skill.

[Analyze: Dungeon]

[Enemies: 0/10 Boss: 1/1]

[Rewards: Rewards: EXP, YEN, ???]

[Secrets: 1/1 (Weapon)]

Apparently, the secret was a weapon of some kind! That could be useful, even if Izuku had no idea how to use one. He just hoped it wasn't a sword or something because it wouldn't be easy to pierce the metal shell the crab had. The most obvious place to start looking for the weapon was in the hole he was in. It wasn't there before the boss spawned, and it might vanish afterwards like the other holes had done, so it was a good place to hide a secret. In the hole there was nothing visible but rusted metal. Izuku sat on top of it all, but there might be something beneath it. He started picking up scraps of metal and throwing it out of the hole. The sand beneath the metal was quickly revealed.

Izuku was about to give up on the weapon being there and look somewhere else, maybe on the crab itself, when he saw something. Barly poking up out of the sand was an object of some sort. Once again Izuku started digging, this time to reveal whatever it was. After getting a few inches of sand out of the way, Izuku saw what he was looking for. It was the hilt of some sort of weapon, possibly a sword. A sword wouldn't be ideal, but it would most likely be better than nothing. He grabbed onto the hilt as tightly as he could and yanked on it.

Despite how much effort Izuku put into it, the hilt barely moved at all. But underneath it the sand had shifted. Izuku did it again, this time losing balance as he tried to pull whatever sort of weapon it was out of the ground. And this time it moved more, exposing the entire hilt. Izuku grabbed it with both hands and gave it one last tug. The weapon came out of the ground and a screen appeared in front of Izuku.

[Item obtained: Sword]

[Item: Sword

Rarity: Common

Strength: +10 Damage

Other effects: Ignores 5% of defense granted by durability.]

'Great. I got it, but will this thing even be able to get through the crab's armor?' Izuku was glad he found the sword, but he wasn't sure how useful it would be. After all, the crab had strong metal covering it. The sword would help, but it wouldn't make things much easier. Strategy was still the key here. "It doesn't seem to have any trouble moving across the sand at all, so I can't use the terrain to unbalance it and make it easier to flip over. The belly might not be the only place I can aim though. Before I didn't try to go for the eyes because they were too small a target, and I wasn't sure I would be able to hit them. But this crab is bigger and should have a harder time dodging. Here goes nothing!" The hole was deep, but not so deep that it gave Izuku trouble getting out. The crab seemed to be waiting patiently for Izuku to make the next move. That gave Izuku time to analyze it.

[Analyze: Boss (Giant Mecha-Crab)]

[LVL: 5]

[Health: 265/270 (Not based off of stats)]

[Stamina: 200/200]

[Mana: 0/0]

[Highest Stat: Durability: 80]

Izuku thought through the situation. A defense of thirty, that was over twice as high as his own physical stats. And the crab was also three levels higher than Izuku, so it was no wonder he had so much trouble hurting it. A single hit to its armor did five damage. That meant it would take about 15 damage with the sword. But if he hit a weak spot, that damage would be much stronger. But part of that message made Izuku curious. This enemy's health wasn't based off of stats, but its durability was 80, then how much health would it have if it was based off of its stats? Would Izuku have even been able to beat it? Either way, he seriously lucked out that the health was a static value for this enemy.

The crab still sat there, waiting for Izuku to make a move. Because the crab had no mana, Izuku wasn't too worried about it unleashing some crazy skill that would do a bunch of damage. So, he carefully moved closer, sword at the ready, to get as close as he could before making a move. When he got close enough, Izuku lunged forward and aimed a stab at the crab's eye. One of the massive claws came up to block the strike, but the sword pierced through the metal with surprisingly little resistance. A burst of fire from the sword filled the air with the smell of burnt crab. After using analyze the crab's health bar had a number above it. It now read 200/270. The attack did so much more damage!

"I guess this sword is sharper than I thought!" Izuku swung the sword at the crab's other claw, cutting it off completely. Then he stabbed the crab in the eye, reducing its health to one. The crab got one last desperate swing in, sending Izuku flying to the other side of the beach. His own health was reduced to 23/130, and before he could get up the crab appeared standing over him. He plunged his claws into the beast, finishing it off. Once he did another screen appeared.

[DUNGEON CLEARED!]

[REWARDS: EXP: 500, YEN: 3000, Common item: Combat Gloves]

[All rewards have been sent to your inventory.]

[Exiting Dungeon]

The screen disappeared and then shortly after everything went back. Izuku was spit back out where he started, in front of the beach, and stood up to see his mentor staring at him with surprise.

Since he was in the area, All Might decided to go visit the beach his future successor was cleaning. He had given Izuku a strict schedule, and the young man had already been caught overworking himself. So, All Might made it a habit to check on the beach at least once when it was one of Izuku's days off, to make sure he was actually taking a break. When he first arrived, there was nobody at the beach. It looked like Izuku was following his schedule. But just before he left, his successor appeared out of nowhere covered in sand, more than a few bruises and cuts, and covered in blood. "WHAT THE HELL?" All Might shouted in shock. If he had any time left, he would have transformed into his buff form, but he had already run out for the day.

Izuku winced but waved and said "Hi All Might."

"DON'T HI ALL MIGHT ME! WHERE DID YOU COME FROM, AND WHY ARE YOU COVERED IN INJURIES AND BLOOD?!" The number one hero was panicking, as one should when a teenager appears in front of them in that condition.

Falling on his butt, Izuku tried to appease his mentor. "If it makes you feel any better, most of this blood isn't mine. It's from a giant crab."

That just made All Might more worried. "Explain yourself!" And so Izuku did. He told All Might about the gamer, and a few of the different powers he had. He then showed them off, to make All Might believe him.

"And when I got to the beach, I saw that I could enter a dungeon. I decided to try it out." He was extra careful not to mention how he almost died in that dungeon. All Might didn't need to know that little detail. "I got these gloves, and this sword." Izuku showed off both. "The enemies were crabs with metal shells. I couldn't do much to any of them with just punching and kicking, other than the first one. I dented that one's shell. But for the most part I flipped the crabs over and killed them by stabbing my claws into their stomachs where the plating of the shell met, leaving an opening. The boss of the dungeon was a crab twice as big as me, and when I was fighting it, I found the sword and used it to kill it when I couldn't damage it much otherwise. That's where most of the blood came from. The reward for the dungeon was these gloves, and some money and EXP."

It took a little while for All Might to calm down, but he figured that Izuku wasn't hurt as much as he looked, plus his wounds were already healing quickly. "I do wish you would have told me about this before going into the dungeon, perhaps I could have joined you to make it easier. If you are feeling up to it, I want you to try to add me to the party and do the dungeon again so I can see what happens." Izuku nodded.

After a bit of experimenting, Izuku managed to send an invitation to All Might. A screen appeared in front of the hero, and it read [Join Party?] All Might said yes.

Once he did, another screen appeared in front of Izuku. [An ally has joined the party! Allies are temporary party members that have limited access to the gamer. They can access their stat page, and they can leave the party on their own, but they cannot rejoin it once they leave without another invitation from a full member of the party.]

All Might's name, level, and health bar appeared beneath Izuku's. "Yagi Toshinori? That's your name?"

"Yes. Wait, did I never tell you?" Izuku shook his head. "I apologize, it must have slipped my mind. Well, in any case, when I am in my true form, call me Toshinori or Toshi. That will help me keep this identity secret. Now, give me a couple minutes to look through my screens and get used to all this, then we can try the dungeon."

Then Izuku noticed All Might's level. "Wow, you're level 127. That puts you over a hundred and twenty levels above me. I wonder what your stats are like."

"My lowest stat is my wisdom, and that's still at 400. The rest are closer to 1000, and my strength stat is in the four-digit range. So, can we enter the dungeon now?" All Might was confident that he could help even without his muscle form. Even weakened and without his quirk, he was still All Might, the greatest hero in Japan.

"Nope." Izuku was facing where the portal was, which All Might could now see. "Apparently temporary party members can't enter dungeons at all. So, you won't be able to help with any. And even if you could, I can only do the dungeon once per day."

That was slightly annoying. The dungeon would go much quicker with All Might joining him, but he couldn't do that. "Can you make me a full party member?" Izuku shook his head.

He explained "Apparently, the other four party slots are filled, but I can't see who they are or kick them out of the party."

"Perhaps it is for the best. If I were to join the dungeon you wouldn't have to do anything. And it is also possible that, like other games I have played before I became so busy, the enemies would become stronger with more party members. As you are now, you might lack the strength to defeat them. And if that were the case, I would have to handle everything myself, and you would most likely gain very little from that happening." All Might thought about it for a minute. "Right now, to maximize your growth, it may be best to find at least one of your other party members. Is there anything that could help you locate them?" Izuku shook his head no and Toshi said "That is unfortunate. Perhaps it will be revealed once you reach U.A. Until then, continue with your training, and do not overwork yourself. Keep me informed of any changes with The Gamer. No head home, you're supposed to be resting today."

He sighed as Izuku ran off in the direction of his house. "That kid will be the greatest hero in the world. I just hope he doesn't give me a heart attack with his antics so I can live to see that day."

Chapter 4: Player 2

In one part of Japan a boy gained the Gamer and his journey to becoming the greatest hero in the world started. He would continue to grow as the months passed. But on the same day he got his new powers, four others did as well. The next person to awaken them was a brown-haired girl named Uraraka Ochako. She was a kind and sweet girl, helping her parents whenever she could. Her goal was to become a hero to support her parents further while helping others in the process. However, that dream was looking more and more unlikely by the day. It was expensive to send her to school, and her parent's construction business hadn't been doing well in the past few years. It would be another year or two before she could get an actual job to help with money, but she did what she could.

One Sunday she was sleeping in as it was one of the only times she could. She was constantly doing small jobs for her neighbors or helping out around the construction sites her parents were working at, so that left her very little free time. It was around ten am before she woke up. When she did, something extremely strange appeared in front of her.

"Hello, one of the new and final users of the Gamer 2.5!"

Normally she would have freaked out when she saw something like this and questioned her sanity, but something kept her calm. She was still questioning her sanity though. The first pink screen vanished and a second one appeared. "All good games have a tutorial, and this one is no different. To begin the tutorial, please say "Begin Tutorial" out loud."

Ochako took a deep breath. Clearly something was going on. Maybe she was still asleep, and this was just a dream, maybe someone was using a quirk to mess with her, or maybe she was going crazy. Or just maybe it was real. Whatever the explanation, she decided it couldn't hurt to go along with it. "Begin tutorial." Another screen appeared.

{Main Menu}

"Wow. Whatever this is it just keeps getting crazier by the minute!" Ochako still didn't actually think this was real, but it was a surprising amount of detail. Then a thought crossed her head that made her laugh a little. "If this is real, that will save me so much money on train tickets going to and from school!" She quickly took a look at each screen, but nothing really caught her attention except her character info. Her stats were all in the high teens, even her intelligence. Her quirk was level 10 and apparently a rare one according to the rarity rating it was given. After she looked at everything, the tutorial moved on.

The more Ochako read, and the longer she spent doing so, the less she thought this was a dream. She opened the skill tree menu and was surprised at what she saw.

{Skill Tree/Quirk Skill Tree Menu}

 [Base Skill Tree]

[Class Skill Tree]

 [Quirk Skill Tree]

[Skill Points: 0]

[Quirk Skill Points: 2]

The first thing on the list was usually the best place to start, even if Ochako didn't have any skill points yet.

[Base Skill Tree]

(Skill: Gamer's Body) (Skill: Gamer's Mind)

(Skill: Passive Regeneration Unlock: 3 Skill Points) (Skill: Analyze Unlock: 1 Skill Point)

(Skill: Hidden) (Skill: Hidden)

Since she was level one, there really wasn't much she could do with this skill tree. But she could look at the skills she already had.

"Warning! While you may not need sleep, your brain would have difficulty adjusting to a constant state of consciousness without a time to rest and recharge, so staying up for long periods of time is strongly advised against unless absolutely necessary."

At first Ochako was thinking about how she could get so much done if she didn't need to sleep, but decided it wasn't worth it. She might not get tired, but sleep was still important. The other skill she got explained why she wasn't freaking out.

Clearly the fact that she still needed to sleep was considered extremely important. She couldn't do anything else with that tree, so she just moved on to the next one.

[Class Skill Tree]

[Class: Space Walker (Legendary) LVL 1]

[Skill Unlocked: Child of the Stars LVL 1/50

[Skill Unlocked: Spacebound

[Skill Unlocked: Moon Beam LVL 1/10

Effects: Does Light damage based on your intelligence and wisdom stats (Int + Wis /2 X 1.5). Applies the effect Moonfire.]

After she read all her new skills and class, Ochako saw her class skill tree. If this turned out to be real, she couldn't wait to see just how much she could unlock.

[Class Skill Tree]

Class: Space Walker (Legendary)

 (Skill: Child of the Stars)

(Skill: Spacebound) (Skill: Moon Beam)

(Skill: Sun Beam: Class LVL 3)

(Skill: Hidden) (Skill: Hidden) (Skill: Hidden)

Before Ochako could look at her last skill tree, her mother shouted "Ochako, are you awake? Breakfast is ready." Ochako scrambled out of bed and in her haste to get dressed stubbed her toe against her dresser. It hurt a bit, but that wasn't what Ochako focused on. She focused on the fact that it felt real, and normally in a dream any amount of pain would be enough to wake her up.

"Is this real?" Ochako quietly said "Moon Beam" She just wanted to see if it was actually real, because she definitely wasn't sleeping. The Mana bar she could see in the corner of her vision went down a bit, and a small ball of white energy formed in her hand. It felt hot to her, but not uncomfortably so. Then she realized that she had nothing to do with it. "Wait wait wait! No, stop! Don't fire!" Thankfully, the ball of energy dispersed harmlessly. She would have to try it out later when she couldn't possibly blow a hole in her wall. Because not only would that be difficult to explain, it would also require more money to fix than they could afford to spend.

At breakfast Ochako didn't say much. She went back over her screens, having figured out how to change between them without saying anything, to see if she missed anything. Something else caught her attention. She saw before that the four party member slots were filled, but now she saw two things she didn't see before. One, she wasn't the party leader. Someone else was. And two, All Might was listed as an ally, which the Gamer explained was a temporary party member that didn't get access to most of the gamer's system. 'Just who is the party leader? And why are they hidden?' Suddenly, a quest appeared on another screen.

[Quest Alert!]

[Objective: Find the Party Leader]

[Rewards: Party Leader revealed, a way to get stronger, help getting into U.A High School]

[Location: Takoba Beach (Mustutafu)]

[Accept Quest?]

Ochako said one word, quietly as to not alert her parents that something was going on. "Yes."

Chapter 5

Right after finishing breakfast, Ochako made her way to the train station. Her parents didn't question it because they had to go to work and Ochako often spent time outside of the house with friends or doing small jobs.

The subway station was a bit of a long walk from her house, but it was one Ochako was familiar with. She had to ride the train every day to get to school on time because she unfortunately lived too far away to walk and neither of her parents owned a car. She reread the quest she got in case there was any new information, but there wasn't.

At the train station Ochako looked at a map to see how far away Mustutafu was, and if she even had enough money to afford the ticket. "That far?" She said out loud when she found her destination on the map she was looking. By subway it would take almost an hour to get to where she was going. While the ticket for that wouldn't be super expensive for most people, it would still be most of Ochako's money, and she wouldn't have enough for the trip back. Then she remembered something. "Oh wait, I can just teleport back."

So, she bought her ticket and got on the next subway going there. After she managed to get a seat and the subway started moving Ochako looked at the only screen she hadn't opened yet.

{Skill Tree/Quirk Skill Tree Menu}

 [Base Skill Tree]

[Class Skill Tree]

 [Quirk Skill Tree]

[Skill Points: 0]

[Quirk Skill Points: 2]

The Base Skill Tree had been interesting, especially with how useful the skills seemed to be, and the Class Skill Tree had given her an incredible class and powerful abilities to go along with it. She could only hope the Quirk Skill Tree would be just as good.

[Quirk Skill Tree]

Quirk: Zero Gravity LVL 10 (Rare)

 (Skill: Zero Gravity) (Skill: Float)

(Skill: Nausea Resistance: Unlock: 1 Quirk Skill Point) (Skill: Momentum Cancel: Unlock: 2 Quirk Skill Points) (Super Move: Meteor Storm: Unlock: 4 Quirk Skill Points)

(Skill: Evolve Quirk: Unlock: 10 Quirk Skill Points, Quirk Level 25)

'My quirk can evolve?' Ochako thought to herself. It seemed like it. But before she could do that, she would need to level up her quirk more. She was only 15 levels away, so it couldn't be too hard to get it to the max level, right? Then another thought crossed her mind, she would also have to level up to evolve her quirk because she needed more quirk skill points. The question was how did she do that? Maybe finding the party leader would help her with that. For now, she bought what she felt was the most useful skill.

[Skill: Nausea Resistance LVL 1/10]

[Type: Passive]

[Description: You should be used to floating around by now, but your quirk is still hard on your stomach. This skill will decrease the amount of nausea you feel from using your quirk on yourself by 10%.]

Ochako felt slightly embarrassed at getting called out like that, but the skill was useful. Still, it was like the gamer was saying "You suck at adapting to your quirk, so I'll do it for you." The rest of the train ride went smoothly. There were no problems or villain attacks, and Ochako thought about the party leader. She wondered who he was, what his powers were, and how strong he was. The one question that stood above the rest, however, was how he knew All Might. She opened her party screen to see if anything changed.

[Party]

[Party Members:

Player 1(Party Leader): Hidden

Player 2: Uraraka Ochako

Player 3: Hidden

Player 4: Hidden

Player 5: Hidden]

[Allies: Yagi Toshinori (All Might)]

He was apparently the only ally the party had at the moment, but that was more than enough considering who it was.

When she arrived at Mustutafu, Ochako first grabbed a travel pamphlet from one of the nearby stands. She hoped this would tell her where the beach was, because the party leader could be found around there most of the time. In the pamphlet she saw a few decent places to eat that weren't super expensive, and popular tourist destinations. Thankfully, the beach was one of those places. It even had directions to it!

Ochako exited the subway station and looked around. Once she was out on the street, a screen appeared. It read "New location discovered. Adding [Mustutafu] to your map. Marking fast travel points." The map appeared and Ochako saw that a new tap appeared, the open one was of the town she was now in. It had one location she could travel to, the subway. The map also made it easier to find places. She discovered a new feature that wasn't mentioned in the tutorial. She tapped on Takoba beach, and another screen asked her if she wanted navigation to it. She selected yes and a mini map appeared in the bottom left corner of her vision. A pink arrow appeared on the map and pointed in the direction of the beach.

"Helpful." Ochako followed to where the arrow led, almost walking into multiple people when she stopped paying attention to her surroundings at one point. The subway wasn't too far away from her destination thankfully, so she didn't have to walk for long. When she arrived, she almost thought she had the wrong place. The pamphlet she grabbed showed pictures of a beautiful beach with clear water and white sand. The beach in front of her was covered in mountains of trash that were so big she couldn't even see the water.

"Am I in the wrong place?" She checked both the map the gamer gave her, and the map on the pamphlet she got from the subway station. "No, this is it."

The gamer confirmed it with another screen. "New Fast Travel Point discovered. Adding [Takoba Beach (Ruined)] to your fast travel points."

After taking a look around, Ochako found that nobody was around. She did find out why the party leader was spending time in a place like this though. Next to the entrance to the beach there was a dumpster filled with trash from the beach. Whoever the party leader was, was cleaning the beach. "Just when Ochako decided to leave and try again another day, someone else showed up. A boy about her age poked his head out of an alleyway and looked around. Apparently satisfied with what he saw, the boy exited the alleyway and entered the beach, cleaning up the trash. He started small but quickly moved to larger objects.

This had to be the party leader, right? The quest confirmed it. "Quest Complete. Party Leader found." Another screen appeared. "Player 1 revealed. You have been added to Player 1: Midoriya Izuku's party." Ochako looked over to the boy who had stopped cleaning. She couldn't read it from so far away, but he was now looking at a green screen similar to her own.

He finally noticed her and turned around. He looked nervous, but after taking a deep breath he calmed down enough to speak. "H-hi." He stuttered with his words at first. A green star had appeared above his head after she was added to his party, so she assumed she had some sort of symbol above her head as well. "I-i" He stopped and took another deep breath then stopped stuttering. "I'm Midoriya Izuku. But I guess you already know that since you were added to my party, right?"

"R-right!" Ochako didn't expect him to be so cute, so she also stuttered a bit. "And I'm Uraraka Ochako. It's nice to meet you." She held out her hand for a handshake. Izuku shook her hand then started floating as she accidently activated her quirk on him. "Oops. Sorry, sometimes I forget about my quirk. Release." She pressed her fingertips together and Izuku stopped floating. She was afraid he would be weirded out by her quirk, or not like her because she activated it on him, but to her surprise he looked at her in awe.

Izuku pulled out a notebook and started asking her questions faster than she could understand. "That was your quirk? How does it activate? Only by touch, or can it work other ways too? It's some sort of levitation quirk, or maybe a gravity quirk, right? Does it work on yourself?" He went through at least another twenty questions in the span of a minute before Ochako tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention.

"Slow down!" She said once she did. "I'm fine with answering questions about my quirk, but you're talking too fast for me to understand you." She giggled a bit because the expression he made when he realized what he was doing was funny.

"Ah!" He apologized. "Sorry, you don't want to hear my questions anyways. I take it too far." He blushed in embarrassment and his notebook vanished into his inventory, where he now stored them to keep anyone else from stealing them. Afterall, there was some pretty detailed notes in his notebooks and if even one of his older and less accurate ones were stolen it could possibly get some pro heroes killed by villains who now knew their weaknesses.

The way Izuku flinched and apologized as if he had done something seriously wrong to her set off red flags to Ochako. She had seen the signs of bullying enough to recognize them. "Well, I'll tell you what I know about it anyways. We're party members, so it would make sense for us to know about each other's powers, right?" Izuku slowly nodded. "Good. To start, my quirk is called Zero Gravity. If I touch someone or something with all five of these special pads on my fingers, they are no longer affected by gravity and start to float. They are easier to move but normally just float there. I can make small objects shoot off into space if I really try, but I can't do it to anything heavier than 15 pounds. I can make myself float, but that makes me nauseas really fast. So does overusing my quirk. I can make a total of around two tons weightless before I throw up. And I can only make myself float for about 10 seconds before that happens." Izuku wrote everything down. "That's about it. So, now that you know about my quirk how about you tell me about yours?"

Instantly Ochako regretted saying that. Izuku looked physically hurt as he reacted to her question. He recoiled a bit before saying "I'm quirkless." Before when he spoke his voice was filled with curiosity and kindness. Now it was empty, reserved. Like he was expecting her to laugh at him or worse.

'That explains things. He must be bullied by quirkist jackasses. He might not even have any friends. Well, I'll just have to change that. And then I can help him!' Ochako said "That's so cool! I've never met anyone who was quirkless! But hey, I'm guessing you're far from powerless now that you have the gamer, right?" That got Izuku to smile. He nodded and Ochako pressed him to try to get him to open up more so she could find out what was really going on with him, so she could help him.

"S-sure." He was slightly retreating back into his shell, but not so much that she couldn't get answers out of him. "My class is called Dragonborn. It's a legendary class that gives me three skills, one passive, one active, and one that's a combination of both. I deal fire damage every time I hit something, and I can form claws and scales to increase my damage and defense. I also get a passive defense boost from the scales that improve when I form them. I also bought a skill from the base skill tree that heals me outside of a fight or a dungeon, and another skill that gives me some information about people. I'll show you. Analyze." A screen appeared in front of Izuku, and he read it before it disappeared.

"From that screen I can determine that you are level one, you have 170 health, 200 stamina, and 320 mana. Your quirk is rare and level 10, your class is legendary like mine is and called Space Walker. And your highest-level skill is something called Moon Beam."

"Wow!" Ochako realized something. "Wait! But that would mean you can level up! How did you do it?"

The leader of the party pointed to a swirling green portal that she hadn't noticed somehow. "That's the entrance to a level one dungeon. I leveled up from it, and I even got a sword and a pair of combat gloves from it. Plus, a couple thousand yen."

Dollar signs appeared in Ochako's eyes. That could help out her financial situation. That left one more question for her to ask. "One more question, how do you know All Might enough for him to appear as an ally?"

Izuku panicked at that, clearly whatever was going on was supposed to be a secret. "You can see that? How?!" Ochako showed him her party screen. It had All Might listed as an ally. "Oh. Well, I guess you would have found about it eventually anyways."

Before anything else could be said a voice called out "YOUNG MIDORIYA! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE? DON'T MAKE ME CALL YOUR MOTHER!" Izuku squeaked in fear and turned to where the voice was coming from. An extremely thin man was stomping over to them. and he did not look happy. Ochako wasn't sure if Izuku was scared of the man approaching them, or if he was scared of the possibility of his mother getting involved.

"I'm sorry Mr. Yagi! I got a quest to go to the beach for some reason! But I found one of my party members!"

Ochako couldn't believe it. There was no way this twig of a man was All Might, but the name matched. Yagi Toshinori was apparently All Might's real name, and this was him. "No way! You can't be All Might! All Might is huge and muscular! You look like you would blow away in the next light breeze!"

"YOU TOLD HER! THAT'S IT! I'M CALLING INKO!"

Now Izuku was shouting too. "WAIT! SINCE WHEN ARE YOU ON A FIRST NAME BASIS WITH MY MOM!" The situation just got a lot more complicated.
