Jake was nowhere to be found either. He had been accompanying Sonia for the previous months ever since they became friends, so he thought they must've eaten out somewhere nearby since they often do that.
With that conclusion, Luke informed Sonia through text that he'd be going home before her and that she could just contact him if she forgot to bring her umbrella, or if she doesn't feel safe walking back home alone. That way he could make time for her later.
After messaging her, Luke took a shortcut in an alleyway and looked up at the sky.
It was as dark as before and the rain was pouring so hard his umbrella was almost useless.
Despite that, when he spotted a blurry and almost undistinguishable figure on the rooftop of a building, he immediately recognized that it was Sonia.
She was with someone else who was a pure blur in his eyes. However, since the building had a food logo, he concluded his guess earlier was probably right and that was Jake with her.
