It sounds a bit strange, as the Empire has always been fanatically obsessed with infrastructure projects, especially railway construction, with its world's largest, most complex, and precise railway network system being a model for other countries to emulate. Taking a high-speed train to the coastal cities for holidays is one of the highlights of the "Gaining Strength through Happiness" organization's annual events. Marseille has participated in such events twice. Arietta and Luis also often travel by train across the Empire, occasionally engaging in mental skirmishes with the Imperial Social Order Security Bureau and railway police on trains.
Riding a train is really not a novelty for them.
