Chapter 20 - Step Towards Light (2)

Baranor stood next to a familiar podium and he took in the sight of his amassed army as he soaked in the the atmosphere of a crazed wave of blood hungry beast. Baranor could see Fara'mir walking back and forth at the forefront encouraging his men as if he wanted to put on a show for his new master, Baranor seeing this had a smirk on his face seemingly intrigued as to why he would do this. He finally decided to make his appearance as he walked up the stairs of the podium the crowd only grew more wild shouting in excitement over there new lord. Baranor stood on the podium observing the surrounding men and the war machines they have prepared in the back of which was a few balista's which Baranor knew would be put to good use. Once he was done observing the crowd he stomped and shouted to the crowd.

"Silence!"

As he waited for the crowd to quiet down he readied himself to address his army deciding to keep it short and to the point.

"My army! I know you wish for blood and blood I shall give, for today we march to slay a beast! Not a ordinary beast but a beast of the 4th tier! I know it will not be easy and not everyone will return. however, is this not what you wish for?! A battle to test your steel a battle to test your resolve! A battle that will be remembered by generations to come, a battle for which we can become even stronger than we are! If you wish to grasp that power with your own hand then today we shall march to bring down the demon of the forest and we will claim this forest as ours!"

The crowd of uruk's exploded in a shout of bliss and blood lust as if a wild beast had been let out of there cage, Baranor observed the crowd for one second longer then he made his quick exit off the stage and looked towards Fara'mir who was joined in the constant roars and shouts of his clansmen.

"Fara'mir, come"

"On the way boss!'

"Prepare the army that'll be accompanying me while I make the proper planning required for us to take down this "demon" of the forest"

"Will do boss!"

While Fara'mir was assisting the army to ready the ballista's and catapults as well as their own personal armor and weapons Baranor went into a tent that they designated as there war room, where all the planning for war and day to day planning happened. As he was looking down at the map on the large table in the center of the tent and writing down his intended course of action he noticed a strange crystal ball of what seemed like magic as it pulsated with a strange orange glow sitting atop of a pedestal, curious Baranor approached and observed it closely as he reached his hand toward it he was interrupted by Fara'mir entering the tent. Baranor locked eyes with his subordinate and moved his hand away from the crystal ball.

"Fara'mir you've arrived, question what is this strange crystal ball on this pedestal?"

"It's a communication crystal boss, it's how we used to talk to the big ol' war general who was our old boss."

"And you just told me?!" Baranor shouted as he gave his ignorant subordinate a vicious glare that sent a chill down Fara'mir's spine

"My bad boss I didn't realize it was important to you."

After glaring at Fara'mir for a few more seconds he let out a sigh and recollected his thoughts

'It's fine, whatever happens i'll deal with it then'

"So why is it glowing?" Baranor asked

"It's probably because the old boss wants to check in on the ol encampment we were ordered to build" Fara'mir replied

Baranor had to collect himself once more as he devised a plan that could maybe deceive whoever Fara'mir's old boss was.

"Answer it."

"Uhh you sure boss?" Fara'mir asked confused

"Yes you impudent fool!"

"Will do boss!"

After a few minutes of discussing his plan with Fara'mir it was finally time to answer the call of whoever this war boss was. As Fara'mir put his hand on the orb and injected a sliver of his mana into it a magic circle formed and presented a projection of what seemed like a uruk in crude full plate armor sitting on a chair made of bone and hide, yet something seemed off about this uruk he appeared slightly more human like, slightly taller and more lean. When his voice finally escaped from his viscous maw it bringed with it a unexplainable aura of dominance.

"Fara'mir! What took you so long to answer my transmission?! You damn fool, I nearly sent out another company to investigate the area!"

"Apologies War Boss, we were busy with a bunch of ghouls that ended up having a nest nearby, but don't worry war boss! We took car of em all"

"Pathetic a bunch of ghouls actually made all of you be in such disarray that you forgot to answer my transmission!"

"Ughhh there were quite a few War Boss!"

"I don't care! Now onto the business at hand, have you made progress in setting up a steady camp in the great forest?"

Fara'mir scoffed before spitting out his reply "Of course we have War Boss! What do you take me for that I wouldn't be able to set up camp on my own!"

"I'll tell you what you are! A fool dammit! Now onto the main topic, what about progress on invading the town closest to the border of the great forest and Caradel kingdom?"

"Ughhhhh were getting to it War Boss!"

The war boss hearing his reply rubbed his temples before replying "Did you forget! Or were you too bust dealing with damn ghouls!"

"Of course I didn't forget! It just took longer to set up camp than expected"

"Know what Fara'mir, I don't care and at this point your incompetence is becoming increasingly a problem so I'll send over Gal'rog and his company to help tidy things along!"

"Bu-"

"I won't have any resistance in my decision is that understood Fara'mir!"

"Yes War Boss..."

"Good! Now him and his clan of stone makers will arive within 2-3 months! You have until then to take the town"

"Will do War Boss"

"Now! Get to work!"

At that moment the transmission was cut off as Fara'mir looked dejected and slightly fearful about the reprimands of his current master, Baranor however was stunned in silence, he was too stunned to move or even speak right now and all he knew was that he had to hasten his plans.

Baranor snapped out of his fervor and asked"Fara'mir are the warmachines ready?"

Fara'mir simply nodded his head

"Good! We march now!"

Both Baranor and Fara'mir marched outside in a hurry as Baranor walked to the stables he called out to Talon who was happy to see his master who seemed too busy to pay the poor bear any attention. Baranor quickly jumped atop the bear and headed toward the gate, as he was passing by he could see the uruk's with there hide armor and crude iron weapons readied and he gave a simple assuring nod. As Baranor was making his way to the gate he could see in the distance the war machines that would bring victory which sparked his curiosity as to how they even brought them all the way to the border of his kingdom from the border of the darklands without anyone noticing.

'Strage, I guess I'll ask Fara'mir myself once we start moving'

Once Baranor reached the gate he quickly called out to his ghoul subordinate who could scout ahead with there numbers and speed compared to a large warband of uruk's who didn't have enough war horses to carry them all. Commanding Crebain to start gathering his pack of ghouls to gather near the gate while still being hidden in the forest. Baranor waited until nearly sunset until all the uruk's were gathered with only about 90 of them with warhorses to ride and 20 war horses pulling the war machines along, Baranor looked satisfied with this amount of fire power even though not all of them were dominated he knew that the surrounding uruks would insure no one in their ranks would bring harm to him. Once Fara'mir made his way to the front a little behind Baranor he they were ready but decided to do last minute checks and planning with the uruks Fara'mir said were his captains of four separate groups. The four groups being seperated nearly evenly were separated by mainly 4 specialties one being calvary, one was spearmen with shields another were berserkers who would charge and relentlessly butcher there enemy and the last one being support with their main focus being bows and operating the war machines although they could redirect whatever extra manpower they had to the other groups as needed so it was also known as a little bit of extra reinforcements.

Baranor looked pleased but also surprised at how well this army was organized as the stories he heard of uruk's and orc's were savage tales of no organization and just bloodlust leading them, before the started there last checks and war counsel Baranor had to know so he led talon to the group and asked Fara'mir.

"Fara'mir, you surprise me I thought the uruk's were mostly a savage race that knew no basics of how to run a army!" Baranor said in a playful tone

"Well that's because most are my liege, the War Saw tribe is different as our main focus is the entirety of war which includes groups like calvary and archers as we have no shame for those who wield long ranged weapons as were not stupid enough to not use them but i bet you the boys in the back still want to be in the front but they know there just as important as the rest!"

"That's good to know my bunch of idiots are smarter than most of the uruks, wouldn't you say Fara'mir." Baranor replied

"That's how we win boss!"

"Very well, now onto the briefing."
