Chapter 464 - Chapter 459: A Leap Into the Unknown

After learning the jutsu, Kaida directly went to Shisui to tell him about his plans. Luckily, Shisui was on break from his teaching duty at that time.

From the time he had started teaching new ANBU ninja, Shisui constantly discussed their progress at every chance he got. Knowing how well they were doing after all they had went through was always great till the first 100 times; after that, it became boring.

For Shisui, even little achievements like one of them smiling and making friends was great news, and it was for the family as well, at least in the beginning. Now it was becoming boring as they were almost hearing the same thing over and over.

Soon Kaida reached his home, only to find Shisui and Kimimaro watching TV in the hall. Since Kimimaro had never watched one in Kirigakure, he had developed a special interest in watching all of the shows, which were always redundant, but for the boy, they were interesting enough to pass time till Naruto was at the academy.

"Oh, Kaida, you are back early," Shisui said.

"Yeah, brother. I went to Mount Myoboku once again with sensei, though this time it was nothing serious," Kaida said, seeing Shisui going all tense for a second.

"So why did you go there?" Shisui asked, now relaxed but still curious as it is not a common occurrence to go to one of the three sacred places in the world.

"Toad Sage wanted to tell me that I should always do good; otherwise, I will become something very close to a tyrant who will rule the world in the future."

"Hahaha, nice one... wait, are you serious?"

"Yes, brother," Kaida said with a cheeky smile on his face.

"Oh god, now even Toad Sage is fanning his vain ego, which is already reaching the sky."

"That's not true," Kaida said.

"Tell me, does the thought of this whole tyrant thing being a lie ever cross your mind?" Shisui asked.

"...No?"

"See, you totally think you are capable enough to rule the whole ninja world and have to stop yourself from becoming a tyrant. If this doesn't mean you are too prideful, then what will—destroying the world in one attack?" Shisui asked, sarcasm practically dripping in his voice.

"I just didn't doubt the words of someone like Toad Sage. It has nothing to do with me being prideful," Kaida protested.

"Whatever lets you sleep peacefully," Shisui patted Kaida's shoulder, apparently giving up on explaining it to him, but from the small smile on his face, it was clear that he was truly enjoying all this.

"So why are you back so early then? From what I know about you, you should be back to your training after coming back," Shisui asked.

"I had asked Toads to be my summon when I went to Mount Myoboku, but Toad Sage said something about fate and all, and that I have someone else as my perfect summon, so I didn't get frogs as my summon."

"Go on." Shisui almost knew what was coming next.

"So when we came back, I asked sensei to teach me reverse summoning jutsu to search for my 'perfect partner.'"

"I knew it. You want to go on a little adventure of your own now, right?" Shisui asked.

"Why not? This is as good a time as any," Kaida asked.

"Ah, you are way too impatient. Shouldn't you at least discuss these types of things before finalizing?"

"Why do you think I am here then, brother? Is teaching some children affecting you that much?"

Smack!

"You are here to tell me that you are going on a summon search, not to ask for any advice at all," Shisui said, while Kaida rubbed his head.

"Isn't it the same thing?" Kaida asked.

"No... sigh. Listen, we Uchiha have traditional summons from generations, so if you want, I can ask Uncle Fugaku to arrange a meeting for you, or you can always go with the crows. They are very famous among our generation for their natural talent of genjutsu," Shisui said.

"Brother, if my fate has cats as my summon, then I will automatically be summoned to their place anyway. There is no need for any external help," Kaida said, his voice going a little heavier and old.

"Stop trying to act like a sage," Shisui said, holding his hand up for another smack on his head.

"Ahem, brother, all I am saying is that I am more than capable of handling myself, even if I go somewhere dangerous, so I would like to try all by myself first. And if by chance I can't find a partner, then by all means, I will ask Uncle Fugaku for help," Kaida said.

"Hah! Fine, but make sure not to take any unnecessary risks. Even an unassuming summon may have powers you can't even begin to guess from their looks," Shisui said.

At which Kaida nodded his head. A face of a weasel with a sickle at its tail came into his mind, a summon powerful enough to cut an entire forest in a single attack, and that too at the size of a normal weasel.

'Can I get her? Him? As my summon?' Kaida thought.

"Are you listening?" Shisui asked, a little irritated.

"Of course, brother. Don't worry, I will not take any risk at all. If I am not sure of my chances, I will not even think twice before running away," Kaida said.

"Good. Then you can go, though in..."

"Thank you, brother! Please tell everyone about this if I am late," Kaida said, jolting away from the door with a speed much faster than one he would dodge an attack with.

"That brat," Shisui said, chuckling to himself. Kaida just didn't want to inform Hae about this for obvious reasons.

'I just hope he will come back before dinner,' Shisui thought, because he too didn't want to tell his mom that he gave Kaida permission to do something this dangerous.

...

Kaida was now standing in an array made using Uzumaki techniques, a simple concealment array. There was absolutely no reason for him to do this, as he was standing in the training area present in the Uchiha compound, which was booked by him for a month. There was no way someone was going to enter it.

And no one knew he was here, other than his brother of course. The only reason he was going to such lengths was because of the possibility of an attack when he reverse summoned himself to Konoha. He would come back at the same place.

And why did he not do this at his home? Because in the off chance this whole summon thing didn't go well, and he was injured and appeared like that in front of Hae, he could very well say goodbye to the idea of having a summon ever.

With all of the possibilities taken into account, Kaida started making the hand signs of the reverse summoning jutsu, once again fascinated by how chakra was behaving. But this time, he didn't have time to marvel at the working of chakra. As soon as he finished the last seal, the air around him started to distort. Suddenly, he felt like he was being sucked to a different place. Thankfully, the feeling was not a new one, but certainly more powerful than when he traveled to Mount Myoboku with Jiraiya.

As soon as the feeling ended and his legs felt the ground once again, Kaida opened his eyes, which were glowing red with three tomoe rotating in them.

Surrounding him were large stone mountains, big enough to be seen like they were touching the sky.

'Am I in some kind of gorge? ...Don't tell me, is this Iwagakure?' Kaida's first thought went in that direction because of the mountains and stuff he knew about Iwagakure.

With a blur of motion, he silently flickered from the bottom of the gorge to the top to get a clear idea of the surroundings.

"Phew Even if this is the Land of Earth, at least I am far away from any settlement."

"And who are you, boy?"
