Yang Ruoqian did not hate music.
He hated music that helped.
The old cinema's new background track was technically unrelated to Sparkle. It used a different melody, a different arrangement, and a different file name. Legal risk was zero. Cross-promotion risk was officially zero. The talent team had confirmed there was no planned actor visit.
And yet the lobby felt suspiciously like the place Sparkle's audience had once imagined in comments: quiet, restrained, sincere, and annoyingly good at making people forgive low commercial excitement.
Yang Ruoqian ordered the track removed again.
Director Chen removed it.
The lobby became silent again.
The next morning, a parent said the silence was nice.
Yang ordered a different track.
The staff chose a light jazz loop.
Retirees disliked it.
Yang almost smiled.
Then staff removed it without asking because it disturbed morning viewers.
The lobby returned to quiet piano.
Yang stared at the report. "Who approved putting it back?"
