The temporary desk sat on the page like a chair someone had carried in after the meeting started.
Ty understood chairs better than titles by then. A chair meant a place for a person to sit, even when the person kept their face out of the record.
The desk had been created eight minutes after the band left the wrist. The cross-route stamp came after that, and then the band reached the door.
Omina circled temporary again until the paper dented.
"A temporary desk still needs a parent office before it inherits authority."
Zunoder's expression settled into something almost approving.
"If the parent office is lawful, the emergency use remains available."
JJ leaned back from her torn page.
"Available keeps showing up with blood under its nails."
Heissman looked from the desk line to Omina's notes.
"Temporary desks inherit permissions from the office that creates them. They cannot create themselves."
The page took the last sentence faster than Ty expected.
That made it worse.
