Ty kept both hands open while Balisk watched him.
The machine's lenses had no expression, but the attention still felt personal. The case sat halfway inside the throat. Balisk held the chains Scizor had released, and the rollers kept enough pressure on the glass frame to make every part of Ty's body aware of the load.
"Living claimant required usually means a person gets named and blamed," Blue said. "I dislike how direct the plate is being."
JJ held the release bar with both hands.
"Define claimant before he steps near that plate," she said. "I want the worker definition, not the royal one."
Blue leaned toward the clean plate without letting go of the bar.
"There is more under the first line below it," she said. "It is stamped smaller, and the soot hid it before the wall opened."
Ty stayed where Blue had told him near the rail.
