Chapter 69: The Principal's Words Are Still Too Tactful

In Lincheng, outside the construction site, in a black van, Captain Li and his team discussed their recent string of successful apprehensions.

"Captain Li, this is the fifth batch of criminals we've captured," one officer commented.

The police officers exchanged glances, acknowledging their significant progress over the past month. In the back seat of their van were two criminals they had recently arrested.

These grave robbers had previously managed to evade the law as they plundered large tombs across the country. When they heard about Qin Mu's team excavating a Han Dynasty tomb, they decided to try their luck again.

"Let the headquarters know. They should send someone to escort these two back," Li Qi said as he looked at the two captives.

Not too long ago, Li Qi received a call from the director praising his recent achievements and stating that the bureau was applying for a third-class merit award in his name.

However, despite the high praise, Li Qi was puzzled by the lack of evidence linking Qin Mu to any fraudulent activity. The rapid progress of Shanhe University's construction also cast doubt on their ongoing surveillance.

Li Qi was beginning to suspect that something was amiss.

"There's something strange about this. I was pursuing a massive fraud ring, but..." Li Qi muttered to himself, still trying to make sense of the situation. It felt as though he were missing something.

Li Qi felt like their recent successes might be too coincidental. In fact, he had yet to uncover any evidence suggesting that Qin Mu was involved in any criminal activities. It was increasingly clear that their attention might be misplaced.

One officer spoke up, "Should we continue monitoring Shanhe University, Captain? It seems that we have yet to find any connection to the fraud ring."

Li Qi paused for a moment, pondering the situation. Given the lack of substantial evidence and the rapid construction of Shanhe University, it seemed that Qin Mu might genuinely be innocent.

"Wait, Captain Li, look over there. Those three individuals seem suspicious and are acting strangely," an officer pointed out.

Li Qi's intuition was sharp. He immediately noticed that the three people outside the van were behaving furtively. Their eyes darted around nervously, signaling to Li Qi that they might be involved in some criminal activities.

"Everyone, be prepared to act!" Li Qi ordered his voice firm.

Construction Site, Qinglong Campus:

Qin Mu walked the construction site, inspecting the progress. The construction of the Qinglong Campus had advanced at a remarkable pace, with key structures such as office buildings, teaching facilities, faculty dormitories, and student dorms already complete. The remaining work involved the main roads and the development of the entertainment area.

"Progress is looking good," Qin Mu remarked to himself, expressing satisfaction with the development.

With only slightly over a month left before the school year begins, all four major campuses should be fully completed. He knew that everything was going according to plan.

"Our faculty has already grown to 1,500," he stated.

Qin Mu's gaze turned to the office building, and he looked deep in thought. Shanhe University's first batch was set to enroll 8,000 students, and this initial wave of faculty recruitment was intended to fulfill the teaching requirements.

However, these teachers also needed time to familiarize themselves with Shanhe University's teaching materials.

Qin Mu pulled out his mobile phone and accessed the faculty and staff group chat. As the administrator, he tagged all members and sent a message.

"@Everyone, Qinglong Campus of Shanhe University is nearing completion. To facilitate your teaching, we invite teachers from all disciplines to visit the campus before August 1 to familiarize yourselves with your offices and adapt to the teaching environment."

Several minutes later, responses started pouring in from the teachers:

Zhou Zuomin, Department of Engineering Physics: "I can come early. I'm currently unemployed and have the time."

Yu Guangchu, Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics: "The principal's message is subtle. It's clear he wants us to learn the textbooks in advance. Do you think we should discuss the subject content together?"

Qi Limin, Nuclear Energy, and New Energy: "Regarding the textbooks, I've already started studying. The content after the fourth volume is quite complex. Would the other department teachers be interested in discussing it?"

Hu Zhengchu, Archeology Department: "@Principal, I've been studying the techniques of finding dragons and dividing money, but there are a few parts I still don't understand."

Yang Anguo, Sculpture Department: "Could you please recommend the skilled craftsman who sculpted the school gate? His work is incredibly ingenious and astounding!"

In the group chat, faculty members from various departments eagerly expressed their willingness to go to Shanhe University early and engage with their respective subjects.
