Chapter 41 - Game over

The long, agonizing walk back through the dimly lit caverns felt like a descent into purgatory. Every single step Lucy took on the cold, sharp gravel sent a localized earthquake of white-hot torture straight up her right side. Her arm was completely butchered—the bone sheared clean through beneath the skin, hanging down like a dead, weighted branch that sloshed uselessly with her movements. She was entirely naked, her skin smeared with wet sand, slime, and the cold, metallic-smelling blood of the three Basculin she cradled against her bare stomach with her one good left arm. Behind her, the heavy, rhythmic scrape of Arbok's scales cut through the damp silence as the giant Pokémon dragged the heavy, scorched carcass of the Slowpoke across the dirt.

Lucy kept her jaw locked so tight her teeth audibly ground together. Tears of absolute, blinding agony tracked hot, clean lines down her muddy cheeks, but she refused to let a full sob escape her throat. She couldn't break down. Not in front of her Pokémon. She had to be the leader. She had to keep them all from starving in this goddeutsche pit.

When she finally stumbled back into the moonlit clearing of the camp, the dying embers of the grass fire threw long, flickering orange shadows across the stone walls. The moment she stepped into the light, the male and female Nidoran leaped to their feet, their small noses twitching as they immediately caught the scent of fresh blood and advanced trauma.

From the center of the clearing, the massive, multi-armed stone shell of Graveler shifted. Rocky uncurled his heavy bulk slightly, peering out from his defensive posture over Odin's hidden body. The moment his small, white eyes locked onto Lucy's completely pale, shivering, and naked form—specifically her mangled, dangling right arm—the high-level Pokémon went into an immediate panic. He let out a low, distressed, rumbling whine that vibrated through the earth beneath her feet. Rocky could literally sense the immense physical pain and suffocating emotional turmoil radiating off his master's lover. He shifted uncomfortably, his cracked stone hands reaching out toward her as if desperately wishing his boss, Odin, would just wake the fuck up from his coma and give this poor girl some semblance of hope again.

"Stay... stay still, Rocky," Lucy choked out, her voice a ragged, trembling whisper that cracked with raw exhaustion. She forced a harsh, defensive sharpness into her eyes, desperately trying to project strength she didn't possess. "Don't you dare move an inch. Keep Odin covered. I'm fine... I said I'm fucking fine, goddamnit. We got the food. Now stay focused on the perimeter."

Rocky let out another heavy, sorrowful grunt, but he obeyed, tightening his massive stone frame back into an impenetrable wall over Odin's body, his white eyes remaining fixed on her with absolute worry.

Lucy sank heavily onto her knees by the edge of the ash circle, her breath coming in shallow, ragged gasps. She dropped the three heavy, cold Basculin onto a flat stone in front of her. Her body was shaking violently from the dropping temperature and the sheer shock of her injury, but her mind was frantically spinning, trying to solve the next logistical nightmare.

How the fuck am I supposed to cut these open? she thought desperately, her eyes darting across the campsite, scanning her available tools and her Pokémon's anatomy. I have no knives. No gear. No supplies. My right arm is completely dead weight. I can't slice meat with one fucking hand.

She looked at her hands, then at the Nidorans, then at Arbok, and finally at Rocky's rough, granite hide. Slowly, piece by piece, a primitive, multi-step survival plan began to form in her hyper-focused mind. She had to cook this meat cleanly, and she had to prepare it perfectly so not a single bone could choke a comatose man.

"Alright... listen to me, everyone," Lucy muttered, wiping sweat and dirt from her brow with her left shoulder. "We have to do this step by step. Nidoran, both of you get over to those grass patches right now. Start ripping up the longest, sturdiest roots and underground plant stems you can find. Bring them to me. We need skewers. Move!"

The two small poison-types scurried off into the dark corners of the alcove, working frantically to tear up the non-toxic roots with their claws.

Lucy turned her naked torso toward the massive, cracked stone shell of the Graveler. "Rocky... I need your body for a second, big boy. Stay completely still."

Dragging her bruised knees forward, Lucy picked up the first heavy Basculin with her good left hand. Bracing her bare, sensitive breasts against Rocky's cold, sand-textured granite hide, she pressed the fish firmly against his rough stone surface. With a fierce, grunting heave, she began violently grating the Basculin's body up and down against Rocky's shell.

*Scrape. Scrape. Scrape.*

The brutal, sandpaper texture of the Graveler's skin worked flawlessly, but the physical effort was absolute torture for Lucy. Every single downward stroke jolted her shattered shoulder, forcing her to violently bite her own lower lip to keep from screaming again. She pressed harder, using her body weight to grind the fish against the stone until the thick, hostile Unovan scales and outer river slime were completely shredded away, leaving nothing but the raw, smooth pink skin beneath. Rocky winced slightly with every rub, his stone heart aching at the sheer volume of pain he could feel vibrating through her bare skin, completely amazed and heartbroken by her absolute desperation.

Once the first fish was entirely de-scaled, she dropped it and repeated the grueling, bloody process for the second and third Basculin. By the time all three fish were scraped clean, her left arm was trembling from muscle fatigue, and her chest was smeared with fish scales and slime.

"Arbok... get over here," Lucy panted, her forehead resting against Rocky's cold flank as she tried to catch her breath.

The giant purple snake slithered forward, her massive hooded head lowering until her slitted yellow eyes were level with Lucy's face.

"I need you to use one of your front fangs like a blade," Lucy whispered, her left hand pinning the first de-scaled Basculin flat against a smooth rock. "Lower your jaw. Keep it perfectly still. Do not twitch, or you'll take my fucking hand off."

Arbok hissed softly in understanding, opening her mouth just enough to let her long, razor-sharp upper fang protrude. Lucy gripped the dead fish by its tail with her single working hand, bracing it tightly. With a slow, agonizingly precise motion, she dragged the fish's belly violently along the razor-sharp edge of Arbok's fang, scoring the thick skin open from the tail straight up to the gills. The dark, cold blood of the Basculin spilled onto the stone, and Lucy quickly used her fingers to scoop the slippery internal organs out, chucking the guts into the dark.

"Good girl, Arbok. Stay right there," Lucy muttered, her teeth clicking.

With the fish split open, Lucy sat flat in the dirt, her naked legs spread wide. She pulled the scored fish onto her lap. This was the most critical, dangerous part of the entire process. She couldn't risk letting a single sharp, needle-like fish bone slide down Odin's throat while he was in a coma. She had to execute the final, savage extraction.

Using her long fingernails, she dug deep into the raw, bloody meat near the gill, pinning the spine down against her knee. She leaned her head forward, using her own teeth to bite down into the flesh, aggressively tearing a massive, thick fillet entirely away from the sharp, dangerous skeletal structure of the fish. She chewed slightly, her tongue and lips meticulously feeling every single millimeter of the raw meat, checking for any hidden pin-bones before spitting the clean, bone-free chunk onto a clean rock beside her. She worked like an animal, using her left hand to peel the flesh back while her nails and teeth ripped the meat from the bone, bit by agonizing bit, until all three Basculin were entirely reduced to clean, raw, boneless fillets. The bitter, coppery taste of raw fish blood filled her mouth, but she didn't care. She wiped her bloody lips with the back of her wrist, her eyes entirely vacant of pride.

The two Nidoran scurried back into the light, dropping a small pile of thick, sturdy plant roots at her feet.

"Good," Lucy said weakly, her voice trembling. "Now for the heat source."

She looked around the cavern floor and spotted a thin, wide, completely flat piece of slate rock lying near the boulders. An elite survival tactic clicked in her mind—the stone-griddle method.

"Arbok, grab that flat piece of slate with your mouth and drop it directly over the center of the fire pit," Lucy ordered.

The snake picked up the wide stone slab and positioned it perfectly over the glowing embers of the grass fire. Lucy then turned to the Nidorans. "Feed the fire. Toss more dry grass underneath that slab. We need it hot."

The small Pokémon shoved patches of dry grass beneath the slate, and within minutes, the flames roared back to life, licking the underside of the flat rock. Lucy waited, watching the moisture on the slate evaporate until the stone began to shimmer and sizzle with intense, radiating heat.

Moving with agonizing slowness due to her useless right arm, Lucy used her left hand to carefully impale the boneless Basculin fillets onto the sturdy roots the Nidorans had brought. Once the skewers were ready, she laid the raw fish meat directly onto the sizzling hot stone griddle.

SZSSZZZZZSSSHHHH.

The loud, aggressive sizzle of searing fish meat immediately filled the vast, quiet amphitheater. A thick, white plume of delicious smoke curled up toward the ceiling crack, cutting through the damp stench of the cave with the rich, savory aroma of cooking fat. Lucy watched the pink flesh turn a opaque, golden brown, using a stick to carefully flip the fillets over with her one hand, ensuring the meat was thoroughly and cleanly cooked away from any ash or dirt.

~x~

Once the fish was completely cooked, she pulled the skewers off the hot stone and laid them out on a cool rock to lower the temperature. The delicious smell made her own stomach twist in absolute hunger, but she completely ignored her own body. Her crimson eyes locked onto Rocky.

"Rocky... uncurl," Lucy commanded softly, her voice filled with an immense, protective weight. "Let me see him."

Graveler slowly shifted his multi-ton bulk, moving his massive stone arms aside to reveal the bare, unmoving body of Odin lying flat on the earth. Even in a deep, unresponsive coma, his body still possessed a hard, massive boner casting a prominent shadow against his thigh.

A fresh, weak sob of genuine, ridiculous laughter broke through Lucy's exhaustion as she looked down at him. "Of course you do, you unhinged scumbag," she whispered, a tear tracking through the grease on her cheek. "Even half-dead, it really is fucking big... you absolute animal."

She knelt beside his head, her bare knees pressing into the dirt. She reached out with her left hand, picking up a thick piece of the cooked, warm Basculin meat. She placed the fillet entirely into her own mouth, her jaw clenching as she began to vigorously chew the fish down, mixing it with her saliva until it was reduced to a completely soft, liquid slurry.

Leaning her naked body fully over his chest, her large, rounded breasts pressing flush against his cold, bare torso, she used her left fingers to tightly pinch his nose shut.

She leaned down, slamming her mouth deeply and passionately over his comatose lips. She forced his jaw open with her tongue, driving her mouth into his as she slowly, deliberately pushed the warm, chewed meat slurry straight down into his throat. Holding the kiss, she slid her left hand down to his neck, her fingers gently but firmly massaging his throat in a downward motion, manually forcing his automatic swallowing reflex to trigger.

Gulp.

Odin's throat moved, successfully swallowing the first mouthful of nourishment.

Lucy pulled her face away, letting out a ragged, gasping breath as she spit a stray drop of fish grease from her lip. Tears blurred her vision as she looked at his still, unmoving features, the emotional weight of her broken body finally catching up to her.

"Swallow it, you arrogant asshole," she sobbed softly, her voice a raw, desperate weight in the quiet cave. She grabbed another piece of fish, stuffing it into her mouth to chew another slurry. She leaned back down, locking her lips over his mouth once more, forcing the food down his throat via the deep mouth-to-mouth transfer. "Don't you dare fucking choke on me... not after I broke my goddeutsche body to keep you breathing. You eat... you eat and you wake the fuck up, Odin."

She repeated the grueling, messy, and intensely intimate process over and over again, refusing to stop until two entire Basculin were fully processed and forced down his throat. By the time she finished, she was completely spent, her forehead resting against his chest as she listened to his weak but steady heartbeat, desperately hoping this raw nourishment would give his comatose mind the strength to claw its way back to the surface.

While the grueling, nightmarish mouth-to-mouth transfer was taking place in the center of the amber glow, the entire campsite remained frozen in a heavy, deathly silence. Not a single Pokémon moved. Not a single jaw snapped. Arbok, Rocky, and the two small Nidorans stood perfectly still in the flickering shadows, their eyes locked on the naked, bleeding form of Lucy as she suffered through the agonizing process of keeping her lover alive. Their wild, predatory instincts were entirely suppressed by an absolute, profound respect for both Odin and Lucy's sacrifice. Even though the rich, savory scent of cooked Basculin and scorched Slowpoke meat was screaming at their starving stomachs, they refused to touch a single shred of food until the masters were fed.

Only after the final piece of the second Basculin slurry was successfully massaged down Odin's throat did Lucy finally collapse backward onto the damp silt. Her chest heaved, her large breasts covered in a sickening mixture of river sand, ash, and the cold grease of the fish. She lay there for a heavy beat, her body shivering violently as the physical shock of her completely severed right arm threatened to pull her under into unconsciousness.

"F-fuck..." she wheezed, her left hand shaking uncontrollably as she picked up her own cooked portion of the third Basculin from the cold stone.

She didn't care about the taste. She didn't care about the texture. She used her teeth to rip into the golden-brown flesh, her jaw working mechanically as she forced herself to swallow the raw, heavy protein using her left hand. The copper tang of her own bleeding lip mixed with the savory fat of the fish, her stomach twisting violently as the sudden influx of hot nutrition hit her system. She needed the strength. She needed the calories to combat the blinding white-hot pain roaring through her shoulder.

Once she swallowed the final bite, she wiped her bloody mouth with the back of her wrist and looked up at her waiting team, her crimson eyes completely hollow, stripped of all elite pride.

"Alright..." Lucy choked out, her voice a ragged, cracking whisper that barely carried across the dirt. "Eat. Fill your goddamn stomachs. We're going to need every single bit of muscle tomorrow."

The permission was the catalyst. Rocky immediately rumbled, stepping forward with his massive, multi-armed stone bulk, his small white eyes flashing with a sudden, dark intensity. The high-level Pokémon approached the dead, heavy carcass of the Slowpoke lying on the gravel. Utilizing his four thick, rock-carved arms with the brutal, unhinged power of a Mortal Kombat fatality, Rocky reached down. His upper two stone hands clamped violently around the base of the Slowpoke's thick, fleshy tail, while his lower two hands anchored into the beast's lower back.

With one sudden, terrifying wrench of his upper limbs, Rocky completely tore the massive tail clean off the torso.

*RIP.*

The sickening sound of tearing muscle, snapping tendons, and splattering blood echoed sharply off the granite walls of the vast amphitheater. Rocky didn't hesitate; he used his massive fingers to shred the thick, fleshy tail into smaller, manageable chunks and tossed the bloody pieces down into the grass to feed the low-level Nidoran kids. The small poison-types squeaked in a mixture of terror and gratitude, immediately lunging forward to tear into the raw meat with their teeth.

But Rocky wasn't finished. Immediately after throwing the tail, the massive Pokémon dug his upper stone hands deep into the dead Slowpoke's shoulders, while his lower hands violently gripped the beast's hips. He planted his heavy stone feet into the silt, his chest expanding as he unleashed a terrifying surge of his remaining physical strength.

With a brutal, chest-rattling roar, he pulled his four arms in opposite directions, literally splitting the massive pink carcass completely in half down the center of its spine.

CRACK-SPLIT.

The spine snapped like a dry log, bone fragments flying through the air as the torso tore into two distinct, bleeding halves, the internal organs spilling onto the gravel. Rocky gave a powerful swing of his upper arm, flinging one massive, dripping half of the carcass straight across the clearing. Arbok lunged forward, her jaws opening wide as she caught the bloody meat cleanly mid-air, her scaly length coiling into the dark as she began to greedily swallow her prize whole. Rocky then sat back on his heavy stone hips, using his multi-armed grip to lift the remaining half of the bloody torso toward his mouth, crushing the bone and meat together between his rocky jaws with a heavy, wet crunching sound.

Sitting entirely naked three feet away from the slaughter, Lucy didn't even blink. The gruesome spectacle of a high-level fatality occurring right in front of her face didn't register in her mind. Her emotional and physical trauma had pushed her into a state of absolute apathy; she completely ignored the bloody meat being ripped apart and eaten, her vacant gaze fixed entirely on the ceiling crack above.

"Water..." she muttered, her tongue thick and dry against the roof of her mouth. "We need fucking water."

The biological reality of their situation was closing in. Food was locked down for the night, but dehydration would kill a fragile human within days, especially an injured woman dealing with massive blood loss and bone shock. Pokémon possessed a powerful, resilient biological immunity that allowed them to drink almost any fluid—including salty ocean currents or mineral-heavy cave runoff—without any health concerns. Water was just water to them; their bodies could easily filter out the filth. But for Lucy and a comatose Odin, drinking the stagnant, iron-heavy mud of the subterranean rapids would cause immediate, debilitating internal illness. They would contract a fever and die in the dark.

Lucy forced her shivering body to stand up, her long, slender legs trembling like weeds under her weight. She held her shattered right arm tightly against her stomach with her left hand, her eyes scanning the dark perimeter of the cavern until she looked up at the massive crack in the ceiling where the bright moonlight was shining through.

The air in the cave was freezing, and the humid mist rising from the subterranean river was constantly colliding with the cold, smooth granite boulders surrounding the clearing. A survival tactic clicked in her mind.

She shuffled her bare feet across the cold gravel, walking over to a large, slanted granite rock face jutting out near the edge of the grass patches. Because of the extreme temperature drop, the rock was completely covered in thick, pristine beads of clean condensation and filtered dew, pooling cleanly away from the muddy cavern floor.

Lucy leaned her upper body over the cold stone, her bare breasts pressing against the wet granite as she used her good left hand to carefully cup the fresh, icy droplets of water. She brought her wet palm to her lips, drinking greedily as the freezing, clean water throat-struck her system, washing away the bitter taste of raw fish blood.

Once her own throat was wet, she realized she had no cups, no bottles, and no containers to carry the fresh water back to Odin.

"Fucking hell," she whispered, a tear of pure desperation leaking from her eye. "I really have to do everything for you, don't I?"

She leaned back over the slanted rock, using her left hand to guide her mouth directly over a large, clean pool of collected dew. She sucked a massive mouthful of the freezing, pristine water into her cheeks, holding it tightly as she turned and walked unsteadily back to the camp.

She dropped to her knees beside Odin's unmoving, comatose head. Leaning her naked body flat over his chest once more, her erect nipples brushing against his cold skin, she used her left fingers to tightly pinch his nose shut.

She leaned down, pressing her lips deeply against his unresponsive mouth, forcing his jaw apart with her tongue. She slowly and deliberately transferred the freezing, clean water straight down into his throat, using her hand to gently stroke the side of his neck to trigger his automatic swallowing reflex.

Gulp.

Odin's throat moved, accepting the clean hydration.

Lucy pulled her face away, coughing slightly as a drop of water tracked down her chin. She stared down at his smug, punchable, comatose face in the dim firelight, her heart aching with a volatile mixture of intense love and absolute, unhinged frustration.

"You better appreciate this when you wake up, you lazy prick," she whispered, her voice trembling as she wiped her eyes. "I am literally chewing your food and carrying your water in my own mouth like a goddeutsche bird. If you don't fuck me silly for a week straight after we get out of this hole, I am going to murder you myself."

Defeated and entirely spent, she dragged her naked, bruised body close to his side, wrapping her long legs around his thighs and burying her face into his chest, letting the residual heat of the grass fire and his steady, nourished heartbeat carry her into a deep, dreamless sleep.

□■□■□

The pitch-black silence of the late-night cavern didn't break slowly. It shattered.

A heavy, rolling chorus of rhythmic thuds, scratching stones, and high-pitched, echoing squeals suddenly erupted from the southern transit tunnels. The sheer volume of the commotion vibrated through the limestone floor, instantly jolting Lucy out of her deep, dreamless sleep.

"Wha—"

Before her brain could even process the noise, a wave of agonizing fire shot straight up her right side. Her body violently convulsed as her shattered arm dragged against the dirt, the sheared bone grinding beneath her skin.

"AAAHHHG! FUCK!" she screamed, her voice cracking with a raw, guttural mixture of intense torture and sudden adrenaline.

She forced her naked, trembling legs to stand, her left hand desperately clutching her mangled right arm against her bare stomach. She was completely pale, her skin covered in a cold sweat, her breathing shallow and ragged. She had barely slept a few hours; her body was severely weakened, running on absolute structural fumes, and she desperately needed advanced medical attention to prevent permanent nerve necrosis. Yet, despite the sickening shock forcing her knees to buckle, her wild survival instincts took over completely. She dragged her feet across the gravel, stepping directly over the stone bunker where Rocky was shielding Odin, her face contorting into an ugly, fiercely animalistic expression. She was a naked lioness, broken and bleeding, but completely ready to tear out the throat of anything that dared to step into the camp.

Arbok lunged to her side with a terrifying, scaly hiss, her hood flaring to its absolute maximum limit. The male and female Nidoran scrambled forward, their quills bristling as they bared their small teeth into the darkness, shivering violently but refusing to run.

As the ghostly white light of the moon shifted across the cavern floor, Lucy's crimson eyes scanned the perimeter—and her heart dropped into a bottomless pit of absolute horror.

Standing before her was her worst fucking nightmare.

Emerging from the dark shadows of the lower pathways were dozens of round, pink silhouettes. More than thirty wild Clefairys marched into the clearing, their small, dark eyes glinting with a volatile, territorial malice. Behind them trailed over twenty massive, hulking Clefables. Every single one of the evolved monsters was holding a jagged, glowing chunk of raw, cosmic rock in their stubby hands—Moon Stones.

Lucy's breath caught in her parched throat, a cold jolt of pure panic paralyzing her lungs as the grim reality of the situation clicked in her mind. This wide-open, luminescent amphitheater wasn't an ordinary cave clearing. It was a holy, sacred regional ground. The massive crack in the ceiling wasn't a random geological feature; it was a cosmic altar designed to funnel the midnight moonlight directly onto the rocks below. The horde hadn't wandered here by accident—they had marched up from the deepest, unexplored veins of Mount Moon to conduct a mass evolutionary ritual for their smaller brethren. And they had just found a pack of naked, bloody humans and high-level predators desecrating the center of their temple.

"Oh, you have got to be completely, royally fucking kidding me," Lucy whispered, her voice trembling as she backed her bare heels against Rocky's stone shell. "We are screwed. We are absolutely, royally fucked in the ass."

This wasn't an ordinary school of wild Pokémon. This was an ancient, territorial clan. Unbeknownst to Lucy's frantic mind, leading the vanguard of the pink horde were two legendary, monstrous anomalies—a massive male alpha Clefable sitting at an incredible Level 58 with a Platinum-Potential, and his massive female mate sitting right beside him at Level 56, also boasting a flawless Platinum-Potential standing. These two apex predators possessed a raw elemental output so high and devastating that even Executive Ariana would have been forced to drop her arrogant smirk and take them with absolute, lethal seriousness.

And the horror didn't stop with the alphas. Surrounding the breeding pair were at least a dozen other massive Clefables holding a Gold-Potential status, their levels scaling deeply into the high 40s and mid-50s, their small, stocky arms radiating a heavy, crushing weight of high-level fairy-type energy that compressed the very air inside the cavern.

"Get back! Get the fuck back, you pink bastards!" Lucy roared into the dark, her voice a desperate, cracking shriek as she tried to project an aura of unhinged, dangerous authority. She thrust her left hand forward, her fingers trembling against the cool air. "Arbok, hiss at them! Make them think we'll tear them apart! Rocky, growl! Do fucking anything! Don't let them step an inch closer!"

Arbok unleashed a savage, deafening wail, her tail whipping back and forth against the gravel to kick up a defensive cloud of dirt, while Rocky let out a deep, chest-rattling stone rumble from beneath his shell, his white eyes glaring fiercely at the approaching line. The two small Nidoran stamped their feet, spitting weak lines of poison into the grass, trying their absolute best to look tough, to look lethal, to look like something the horde shouldn't mess with.

But it was a pathetic, empty lie. And deep down, every single member of the gang knew it.

The horde of fifty-plus high-level, Gold and Platinum-potential monsters didn't even flinch at the display. They didn't pause. Their small, vacant black eyes stayed locked on the campsite, their teeth bared as they slowly tightened the circle, the glowing Moon Stones in their hands humming with a faint, volatile energy.

Lucy's good arm slowly dropped to her side, her knuckles turning white as she looked out at the wall of pink flesh closing in from every single angle. The hopeless, crushing weight of the situation finally broke through her fierce exterior. Her breathing turned shallow, a single hot tear tracking down her pale, dirty cheek. There was no river to jump into this time. There was no trick, no motorcycle, no high-level teleport available to save them. They were trapped, broken, and completely outmatched in the dark.

This is it, her internal monologue whispered, a profound, aching sense of absolute despair freezing her heart as she leaned her bare back against Odin's hidden stone bunker. Game over. We're fucking dead.
