Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Losing Consciousness

"YOU DARE!"Austin would have chased that thought, but then the room was dizzying as Horri let out a second raw and guttural sound, as if he were dying. Austin made a step towards the guy, as if to help him, but, before he could make another one, Feari let out a gut-clenching sound of his own, ragefully, he said "I should kill you for this! I WILL KILL YOU FOR THIS!"

Feari stood over his brother, his pistol pointed at Austin, who had nowhere else to dodge away from.

'Go ahead,' Austin thought, his eyes shut tight, as if accepting his fate. He only had 3 months worth of accessible memory and none of them were good. 'Honestly, if this guy can put me out of my misery, I honestly don't mind,' Austin thought. He felt hopeless a long time ago; rightnow he felt hopeless and helpless, ready for a sweet release of death. 'I'm ready.'

But, just as Feari was about to pull the trigger, a booming explosion sounded at the cell's entrance, deeper in the tunnels, but close enough to cause vibrations where even they stood.

"They must've been following us here," Pannica said, sounding panicked. "And the gunshots and screaming must've led them right to us! Quick, Feari, help me carry Horri; we need to leave!"

"But I want—," Fear began.

"Killing this bastard loser is not worth it right now. If he lives what's coming next, then we'll find him and kill him," Pannica barked, as Austin realized that Horri was losing too much blood; he was losing consciousness. "Now help me!"

Her words seemed to reach Feari, who was about to move, but then noticed something and smirked. "Judging by this dweeb's jacket insignia, I'd say he's an Owl. The people coming here are Ravens from the Meadows. Not only are Ravens and Owls natural enemies, but, after what she did, Owls aren't welcomed there. If I leave him alive now, they'll just kill him in a worse way. I'm okay with that; it just sucks that I won't be the one doing the killing this time."

And, with that pleasantly terrifying piece of information, the three siblings took their leave. After a few grunts and groans, Austin was no longer able to hear them as they exit the tunnels. As the realization that his attackers are gone, Austin realized that he'd been shot numerous times and he was losing blood. He realized that the adrenaline must've clouded the pain and that he couldn't move to run or eve hide, even if he wanted to avoid the coming predicament.

And, when he heard the vibrations on the floor of his cells separate into multiple footsteps shuffling at his cell doors, he just knew then for sure that death had come for him. The last thing Austin saw before he blacked out from the pain was the shadowy silhouette holding a sharp object to his body. The feminine voice saying words he barely registered: "I think this one's dying," before losing consciousness
