On their way to the land of rice, Shikuro told them about different things that they should keep in mind while traveling to different countries.
"Anyone who wants to enter another country has to pass from one of the many posts at the border. On the border, The shinobi of that country checks the identity of each person and note it down. Once you leave the land, your name will be removed. If your stay is more than six months, You will be asked to leave the country or change citizenship and pay them taxes. This is only for normal civilians though. Merchants would have to get their goods inspected and pay a certain amount of tax while shinobi were to show their mission letter."
"If someone tries to 'illegally' enter the country, if discovered they would be captured and sent to the prison. They would have to pay a fine to get out. In case of a shinobi from another country, the punishment would be much bigger. The shinobi could be sent to life imprisonment, tortured for information, or directly killed."
"Of course, this is done only during peacetime and with countries who have friendly relations with each other. It is not feasible for large countries like ours to completely maintain their borders. So some shinobi slip by undetected. Though, the punishment is the same if we discover them. We are currently going to illegally enter the land of rice fields since we can't just show them the mission scroll that says we are supposed to steal from a company that belongs to their country." Shikuro chuckled at the end.
"So you guys need to be careful to not let anyone know that you are from Leaf. While Transformation jutsu is sufficient against civilians and even genins, Chunins, and jonins may find something amiss. So be careful around them. Oh and try not to use your Sharingan Itachi since it would be a dead give away and same for you Ken, no using lava release."
"Now let's hope that the company does not have a sensor nin. A sensor nin could easily tell that you are shinobi thanks to the glowing bulbs of chakra that you all have. Maybe the sensor would get blinded by the amount of chakra Ken has then we would have no problem hahaha." Shikuro laughed
'Never thought that I would see an Aburame talking this much and trying to make jokes.' Ken thought amused
They had to cover a lot of distance to reach the borders of the land of fire and the land of rice. They passed through the borders discreetly before using transformation jutsu to turn themselves into civilians.
They reached the location of the company from where they were supposed to steal the formula.
"Well Well, It looks like you lads got your wish fullfished of a difficult mission," Shikuro said as he saw about four jonins and sensed several more shinobi inside the company. The jonins were wearing Jonin vests so the genins assumed them to be jonins.
"How can a company from a country that does not even have a shinobi village have so many jonins protecting it?" Kabuto asked
"With this many jonins present even if they are only taught by the local lords, they should still be at Regular Chunin level from what I could tell from senseing their level of Chakra. Some of them are just genins wearing Jonin vests to scare away enemies. You guys really need to learn how to sense chakra and how to hide your own chakra from sensors." Shikuro said
"Anyways, They probably realized that if even one jonin from a major village tried to steal their formula, it would be pretty easy for them to do so, therefore they decided to increase their manpower. A smart move indeed. This is now officially a B-rank mission. There is no real Jonin here so I will be staying out for most part of the mission. Now do you guys have a plan?"
Ken after thinking hard had a lightbulb moment as he started telling them about his plan.
"They are protecting the formula of the fertilizer and the owner of the company but they forgot about protecting something else."
"And what is that?" Shikuro asked curios
"Their lead Researcher who was responsible for developing the formula. So we would use transformation jutsu and kidnap this guy and Itachi would then use his Sharingan to 0ut him in a genjutsu to get him to spill the information about the formula. After that, We would just leave this guy."
Shikuro whistled "I did not think that you had a brain in there."
"What did you say?" Ken glared at him as Shikuro kept quiet not wanting to step on the lion's tail.
"Well, You forgot about something, once we get the formula, the Land of Fire would produce the fertilizer then they would immediately know that the Leaf were the ones who did it. This would soil our relationship with the Land of Rice Fields." Shikuro said
"True, But they would not have any proof to act upon. They don't even have a shinobi village so they would be pretty hesitant to act upon mere suspicion. We could just say that some mercenary shinobi were the ones who sold us the formula." Ken replied
Shikuro knew that the plan Ken suggested was quite good. He just wanted to test Ken with this question and he was satisfied with his answer.
"Alright get on with the plan. I will be watching you guys." saying that he disappeared.
