"Horace?" She called out softly.
"Yes love."
"I haven't been in school for a while, when am I going to resume?"
Horace shook his head gently, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "You won't resume for now, okay?"
A frown creased Ariel's brow. "But why? Classes are ongoing, and our exams will start soon."
Leaning closer, his voice took on a soothing tone, one that could calm storms in hearts. "Well, my love… I'm planning something. You won't be learning with anyone again. I've arranged a private lecturer, just for you. Here. At home. Only you and the lecturer."
Ariel blinked, surprise coloring her features. "Why?"
"An enemy discovered that you're my mate and that you're attending St. Vincent University," he explained, his eyes darkening ever so slightly. "I don't want them hurting you."
Her breath caught, shock and fear mixing in her chest. "What!? Why would anyone do that? I've never harmed anyone."
