Sister Kang respectfully escorted the people to the courtyard prepared for Song Chongjin and Wang Yongzhu.
This courtyard is on the east side of the Duke's Mansion, separated by a secretive alley, which is the garden of the Duke's Mansion. Small doors on both sides of the alley are usually locked.
Following the back door of this courtyard also leads to an alley, and beyond that, there is a tall courtyard wall. Against this wall, a row of rooms was built for the night watchmen servants.
There's a side door among these servant quarters which is used for daily purchases and other errands.
Exiting this door leads to a secluded alley. On one side is the Duke's Mansion, and on the other is the General Mansion.
Both families occupy considerable land, making this alley practically a private alley of the two families, with no one else walking through.
Thus, the alley remains quiet, devoid of people.
