Aoyagi is not human.
If what we saw that night beside Kifune Shrine was real, then Aoyagi is definitely not human.
Even today, Chouka Ichihiko vividly remembers the horrifying scene.
He still recalls the strong wind that night.
The creaky wooden structure of the old shrine groaned in the wind.
Chouka and his friend Egawa hid in the forest behind the shrine, lighting up cigarettes and starting to smoke.
The dim red sparks of their cigarettes flickered in the shadow of the trees, a detail he remembers clearly.
Then Egawa spotted something, flicked his cigarette ash, and raised his hand to point somewhere: "Chouka, look over there, is that... Aoyagi?"
Chouka followed his friend's gesture and, sure enough, in a small clearing behind Kifune Shrine, he saw a somewhat familiar figure.
Even though it was dark, it seemed to be Aoyagi from their class.
However, as troublemakers, Chouka and Egawa had no interaction with such a good student, so they didn't go over to chat.
