"The Great King of Mount Oe, Gold Bear Child, was defeated by Lord Kamiya," something like this might not seem like a big deal when just spoken of.
Yet, having a whole crowd of bystanders witness Gold Bear being brutally beaten by Kamiya is entirely another matter.
This large demon, after all, is the commander responsible for "field operations" in the faction, overseeing a battalion of Oni Tribe Soldiers, thus some dignity must be preserved for him.
Otherwise, it might make it difficult for him to manage his troops in the future, and could even dampen his work morale.
Someone as dedicated to his job as Gold Bear, if he becomes demoralized at work, it would indeed be a loss for the faction.
Kamiyagawa is exactly the kind of considerate and employee-oriented boss.
Thoughtful!
...
