Chapter 40 - Kill for the...

Speed up!

They find pods containing Space Marines of every Legion except for those two. Then an armoury to out fit them from just before Horus Heresy

More then three days had passed since discovering the vault and the crew of the ship we came on had decided to return to their ship the " Defining Moment" for the repairs needed before it's departure and it's call to return to combat, have now become unavoidable.

Before it leaving the Gjallarhorn at the edge of Space The Captain asked a question that had even brought a cold sweat on not knowing what could happen if this ship ever fell into the wrong hands, " My Lord I have some concerns that I whish to address before our journey back to Port." His words filled with curiosity, Titerus interested by Captain's unfound worries. "Speak your mind Captain. Theirs no doubt, any concerns you have will be put to rest." The Captain then ler his words go into the open air.

"My Lord with this warship you could wage a war againest a hole system and continue to the next, may be so bold to ask what are your intentions for the future." Titerus enjoyed the conversation which was clear and not hidden by innuendo's.

"Captain, it is good to be bold how ever some might be to... frail to here simple queations, *Titerus walks over to the edge of the platform steering out into the void* "Would you believe me if I told you that most of the stairs you see were at one stage, planets of the Imperium and home to trillions of people look towards their own skies and thought they were safe from the horrors of the dark knowing that we were there to hold it all back, yet even then the once and all powerful Imperium had it all, the peace of mind to enjoy our lives with bring new life into the world and Emporer to guide us all through it... then the Imperium blinked and in the span of less then a decade we lost what the Emporer spent hundreds if not thousands years planning and..."

I bore witness to a very rare moment in my career, "You speak as if you where their instead of recalling from ancient tomes and accounts from others." I aimed, for my words to strike with an honest question coated in respectful tone.

Titerus stood there a steel gaze fixated into the abyss of space... "Perhaps..." Soon after the captain left returning back to his command.

They start to revive the sleeping Luna Wolves.

While the captain took his leave Titerus recieved a message from Rylanor which said "We have found the armoury..." a slight grin made it's way onto my face. The armoury was stocked full of anything a legion could ask for enough munitions to rebuild a legion ten if not a hundred fold.

In the centre of millions of racks of ammo and bombs was the crown jewel of it all was a builtin factory unlike I have seen before and I would bet no other Astartes or the Adeptus Mechanicus could match it's potenial. This would make a fine place for delta to learn and seek a deeper understanding of that datapad

As delta was throughing himself around the place with joy and wonder almost blowing out his augments, an idea struck me that if the death and blood was need to find this place maybe that would be the key. I made my way back to the vault and asked Rylanor to join me there.

I staired at the door for what felt like hours searching for anything, Rylanor silently approched letting my thoughts become clear and it payed off small, details on the flags of each Legion was slightly off centre and some off them where on a slight angel, my hand centremeters away then Rylanor spooke " Wait Brother... Do them in order of when the great Primarchs were discovered by the Emperor." A moment passed as his words ran through my mind, fellowing his advice I realigned alterations in order of when the Emperor found them in depths of space.

A cold ancient metallic voice came to life, " Biometrics completed: ... lieutenant Titerus Vain 10th company, memaber of the XVI (16th) Legion The Son's of Horus formally The Luna Wolves... access... GRANTED!:" The doors of the Vault slowly slid open leaving a cold air flow out, I waited for the door to open and a flood of lights began to reveal... hope, their were more vault doors inside with each having distinct markings for every Legion they where... gene seed vaults. I felt a surge of light hit my face as if I stood before the radiant golden throne, I closed my eyes witnessing a new hope for the future.

I went to open my the gene seed vault and with out even needing my voice, yet again my eyes bore witness to another miracle at the very least a company of Luna wolves kept in a deep sleep inside capsules that have kept them from ageing in this forgotten warship.

I heard the sounds of Rylanor's feet hit the floor walking over to the vault of the Emperor's Children, he stood there waiting for a few moments, then raised his metallic hand toward the door. He then moved away " Not yet my brothers... but soon I will avenge the long dead." Leaving the Vault with thundering silence.

The ship itself is now full operational with a small crew and completely minimize life risking tasks. ( as they explore the ship and are able to fully man it details on ship would be greater.)

With these gene seed vaults we have found new hope for oursleves. I took me and Rylanor just over two days to revive the sleeping Luna wolves and bring them up to speed to what has happend in their absence. Sharing the shattering news of what had happend to our Imperium, I was slightly surprised by their reaction, some took a moment to understand my words others stood silently looking out into the void, then one sergeant took a step forword scars across his right eye with a white beard and had one golden stud his grim face showed me his experince but looking closely I saw his desire for hope "Chapter Master my name is Zadkiel I have survived my share of battles and lost many battle brothers, which I took command over... but along the way we did not faulter in our belief for what The Emperor had designned or what our primarch set out for us to do in his name but now... both are gone, what are we to do? An entire Legion reduced to but a handful of men compared to our days of old." I stepped forward placing a hand on his shoulder, " Our leaders and father may be gone but our duty has not finished in our absence The Imperium has faltered... it will be our duty to regain what we lost and much more."
