´When did you get this kitty??´ The Queen asked Alex. ´I just got him, my Queen.´ Alex added with a soft smile. The Queen turned to King Kevin and made puppy eyes. That was surprising to witness. ´I will get you a kitty, my love.´ The King spoke up with a soft smile. The Queen giggled from excitement. The Queen´s belly was showing. We all know that she could give birth any time between now and four weeks. We are all on alert for that, and she is being watched closely, as that is the king's wish. The Queen gave Alex Akio back and leaned against the King. ´How are you feeling, dear?´ The Queen asked Alex. ´I´m getting better, my Queen. My ankle does hurt, but Mateo and Brandon are taking good care of me.´ Replied with a soft nod. We all kept chatting and joking with each other for a while. Akio fell asleep in Alex's arms. Alex yawned at some point. The Queen and the King bid their goodbyes and walked out of the bedroom. Brandon and I lay next to her on each side and held her in our arms. Before we knew it, she was already asleep. We smiled softly at her and kissed her head. We stayed awake and watched over her and her hurt ankle. Brandon and I took turns placing her foot back on the pile of pillows that we had made once she was asleep.
A while later, we heard a knock at the door. I got up to see who it was. When I opened the door, I saw a couple of maids carrying trays of food. I stepped aside to let them in. Brandon instructed them to place everything on the big table, and they did so. We thanked them before they walked out and closed the door behind them. I gently woke Alex up, and she looked at me with tired eyes. How cute! Brandon helped her sit up and carried her to the table with food. We sat down and ate. We joked and discussed the next steps for her foot. We decided to let her rest most of the time for the two weeks; after the two weeks, we will help her start training her ankle slowly and carefully.
After dinner, I cleaned up. Brandon gently picked her up and placed her on the bed. I fed Akio some nice cat food, placing the bowl on the floor near the bed. I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned my head to Alex, who tapped my shoulder. ´Yes?´ Asked her. ´..Can you and Brandon leave for a bit....? I need to change my clothes.´ She spoke up a bit in a shy voice. I glanced over at Brandon, and we nodded. ´Thank you, guys...I will call you when you can come back in.´ She added while we were walking out of her bedroom. A few minutes later, Alex called us back to her bedroom. We walked in and saw that she had changed into her pajamas. Akio was also on her bed, all snuggled up against her. She lifted her blanket for us, we didn´t hesitate, and snuggled up to her, wrapping our arms around her waist. Soon, she fell asleep, as did Akio. Brandon and I waited a bit longer before quietly walking out of her room. We went to our bedroom, showered, changed into our pajamas, and then went back to Alex. We entered her bedroom and locked the door behind us before crawling onto her bed and wrapping our arms around her waist. We fell asleep sometime later with our arms wrapped around her.
*time skip two weeks*
Brandon POV
After all the waiting and care for Alex's ankle, she can finally strengthen it. She walks around a little slower than usual, but not by much. The Queen doesn´t come out of the King's and the Queen's bedroom. She must be close to her due date. The King doesn´t leave the Queen´s side at all. She may give birth at any moment; we all see that it's a nervous day. I saw Alex pushing herself more once again. I sighed and went over to her. ´Alex. Not again.´ I told her, and she looked at me, determined. I chuckled softly before picking her up and carrying her over to a bench. ´I can handle myself, Brandon, ´ She spoke up with a slight pout, looking at me.
