Olivia sat in her chair in silence, that interview made her baffled and in shock, something like this doesn't feel real, but yet it is
She didn't know much, yet she knew she needed to know more, she needed to get to the bottom of this
A strange being killing humans, the victim heard bells ringing and grew headaches and paranoia over time, were these symptoms from the creature?
And for some reason they heard their brother's voice, and this male heard his friends…is this creature also capable of mimicry? Just the thought of that is scary enough, can we truly be safe anymore?
Olivia sighed as she saw the text from the male, the video his friend sent him, she clicked play and turned up her volume
—---------------------------------------------------------
The video immediately showed someone behind the camera walking down the street, their heavy breaths were evident, the camera moving every once and a while to show behind them, as if they felt someone was behind them
The slight ringing of bells could be heard, though it was very faint
"LEAVE ME ALONE! I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG! GO AWAY!"
The male screamed in the video, audible sobs were heard, but in response all that was heard was a child's giggle, along with the sound of twigs snapping and rustling
The camera started to glitch out before everything went black, the last thing that was heard was an animalistic growl and roar as the male screamed
—---------------------------------------------------------
She felt chills down her spine, it seemed the victim was driven to his lowest, slowly going insane…
"The perfect victim….when they're weak"
Olivia whispered to herself
Whatever this thing was, it wasn't human and it was cruel
Olivia immediately called Sophia, not sure if she was still busy or not, she just needed to talk to someone before she went crazy herself
The phone rang a couple of times before it went to voicemail
"Oh come on!"
She knew Sophia is busy so she didn't try again, she couldn't help but remember what the male said
"I know too much...this thing….is not to be taken lightly"
What did he mean? What kind of 'thing' were they dealing with exactly? she needed answers
She looked at her phone again, maybe if she asked from that male again, would it be too much to ask for?
She ran a hand through her hair as she tried figuring this out
"I can't do that to them, I understand what having PTSD is like, I'll just make it worse if I ask more"
Olivia looked around her desk, seeing all the information she had gotten so far
It made her wonder
One day she was a journalist who was seeking to write a new story, and now she was mixed up in some supernatural event
Olivia then got an idea as she went to a new tab on her laptop, she typed in supernatural phenomenon, hoping to get something
"So many cases, what the heck? All reported and are now written as cold cases, that's one way to make someone's family feel even worse"
Olivia looked through all of them, and they seemed the same, people grew more paranoid overtime and got severe headaches, and soon went missing a week later
Whatever this thing is, it knows what it's doing, but why?
"I wish I could see when these were reported, It would certainly help me out, though I suppose I have gotten some answers, but not without even more questions to be asked."
Olivia said to herself, as her fingers taped against her desk.
Paranoia, Headaches, Bells ringing, voices, Disappearance. It seemed like a cycle, like a punishment wheel, pinning round and round, slowly driving mankind into insanity.
Was this thing toying with us?
She couldn't tell if that thought was scary or if it was good to hear, knowing exactly what the beasts motives were
The only thing that did not make sense though, why does this thing Kill both kids and adults? And what's different about the way he kills them both?
From the tape she had watched about the kids birthday, the kid had mentioned the creature being his friend.
Does this thing become with friends as a sort of way to get to them?
It wouldn't be too surprising if that had been true, a creature like this didnt seem to be very favorable to humans, though it made her wonder why the creature hated humans in the first place
There had to be a reason, though with no evidence or a way to talk with the creature without becoming a victim herself, that question would remain unanswered.
Olivia didn't know what to did at this point, Before exploring this topic, she thought she recognized the world she lived in
But now she felt like a newborn witnessing the world for the first time
It was unknown, and she didn't know which step would end up being her last,
It made her think more into that
Would she die if she researched more about this creature, the male she spoke to did say she should be careful, though she let out a breath of relief.
"No, I'm fine, don't freak out Olivia, You don't hear the ringing of bells, or voices, you'll be fine. You won't die"
Refocusing her mind on the more important things, she glanced down at her phone again, being alone with her thoughts while dealing with all of this grew to be too much. With the evidence she had she felt like she was only making little progress
"Its almost as if the police are trying to hide it from us, trying to make everything seem like its okay...When clearly it isnt.."
She then stood up and turned off the lamp that was one her desk, stepping out of her workspace she took in a couple deep breaths, before getting some shut eye for the night
She tossed and turned in her bed, it was hard for her to get any sleep, she had this eerie feeling like something was stalking her from a distance, making her slightly paranoid, suddenly her phone buzzes, theres a notification.
Lifting her phone she looks at the screen, her eyes squinted as her phone brightness blinded her for a moment.
It was an Email, a new lead perhaps. She read out the message
"Heard your investigating the entity I have some things to share that may help you, contact me if youre interested, i dont mind meeting in person"
