Chapter 75 - Before going home

Kai POV

After kicking them out of the kitchen, I cleaned the whole kitchen and the living room. Since I didn´t hear anything from them, I have decided to check on them. I pressed down on the door handle and felt that he had locked the door. I chuckled softly, grabbed the key from the door frame, and opened the door softly. I glanced inside the room and smiled when I saw them sleeping in each other's arms. I quietly closed and locked the door before walking to my bedroom and falling asleep the second my body touched the bed. In the morning, I got up and got ready for the day.

I emailed my boss that, due to my family's illness, I needed to take a couple of days off. Luckily, he agreed to this request. I went to the kitchen and started to make breakfast for four this time. Once it was done, I ate with a satisfied smile on my face. I heard steps approaching the kitchen and saw that Dominic and Aurelia had woken up. ´Good morning, sleepyhead!´ I said cheerfully to him. ´Hi there!´ They greeted me back with a bright smile. ´So, what shall we do today?´ I asked them while putting food on the table, and they sat down and thought for a bit.

´How about you show us around? Tonight we will be going back home, and I thought that you might wanna come with us?´ Aurelia spoke up with a gentle voice. I thought for a while before responding. ´I would love to show you two around, but I can´t just pick up my things and leave. Thank you for the offer of moving, but I will pass for now.´She nodded with a gentle smile, expressing her understanding of my reasoning.

After breakfast, we helped Dominic with his bandages before getting ready to explore the city. After cleaning up and getting dressed, Dominic made sure that Aurelia was thickly dressed before we left the house. We went to my car, and I unlocked the doors for them. I helped Dominic to get into the car, and Aurelia sat in the back with him. After closing the door i sat behind the wheel and turned the car on before driving off. I glanced back at them softly and smiled. I leaned down and turned the radio on. The drive was quiet, not awkwardly quiet, but pleasantly so. We drove through the forest, and I slowed down so they could enjoy the scenery. I heard them giggle and whisper to each other.

What typically takes one or two hours took us three hours to reach the city. I parked my car as close to the city as possible before turning it off. We all got out of the car, and I took them into the city. We spend the rest of the day walking around and eating food at different cafes or restaurants. They also bought things for their baby. I left them alone for a bit so I could get things for them without them knowing it. I visited a baby store and bought a bear plushie for their child. I smiled softly as I looked at the plushie; it reminded me of Dominic. Bears are big and strong, and some can be very stubborn as well.

After paying for the plushie, I went out looking for them. I quickly found them in a story, purchasing food. I waited for them for a little while until they noticed me and waved as they walked over. Both of them had big smiles on their faces. When they reached me, I handed Aurelia her bear plushie, which she accepted joyfully and gave me a hug before we walked back to my car. Once in the car, I pulled out of the parking lot. After driving for a while, I noticed that Aurelia had fallen asleep in the backseat. She was lying down with her head on Dominic's lap. I smiled softly at the cute view. Two hours later, we were back at my house and turned off the car.
