Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1: Flower Crown in Red Puddle (part 1)

4th, February 2250, 17:15.

Vtech Company Building,

Hand running through his hair, his eyes set on the bright screen, the door to his office suddenly opens, diverting his attention. A small child walks into the room, stepping slowly with puffed-up cheeks. Seeing the child, the man quickly stands from the comfort of his chair.

The child's shoulders slumped, and her frown deepened, leading the man who walked toward her to ask, "What's the matter?"

Just by letting out a small voice the problem is made clear.

Holding on to his chin, he speaks with a compelling look "So, that's the problem?"

The child nods with a sour look.

There is a lot of thought and problem running through his head; yet he speaks with a composure look. "Come closer" as he turns his back against the child picking up his resting table on the way before he sits comfortably. Tapping on his tablet, he brings it up to the throat of the girl.

A ray of blue light starts to pass her throat the result only draws the man's eyebrow closer. Pushing back his glasses he let out a soft groan. The girl looked at him with a puzzled look and a wandering eye. "It'll take a bit of time but I assure you I can fix it".

The child nods, giving herself to the men without much of a word.

The clock turns 16 by the time he sweeps away the buildup of moisture on his forehead. A smile naturally forms on the child's face as she can feel the difference. "What are you waiting for? Give it a try" the man said putting down the tablet he holding.

Looking at the men she opens her tiny mouth. The crackling sound of static noise is first to come but what follows is a soft and child-like voice that carves the man's face with a smile. "Thanks, Dad!!".

For a split second after the compliment, the man's face becomes still, and the child runs out of the room leaving the man hanging in his thoughts. The door closes and the senses come knocking back at the men. His face appears worried with a gloomy stare. Too many problems to solve in a short amount of time the men thought. Then, the eerie noise makes him turn around, standing up he looks through the window below.

There are a group of protesters shouting in union swarming the front gate. The protestant leaves him holding his forehead. Wrinkles grow larger in his ever-worrying face. Sitting back down, he doesn't have time to pay attention to this unprovoked disturbance. His main focus is still on solving the major issues and finding a way to save all his efforts and work.

Instead of pondering on the spot, he chose to lean his back against the chair and spin. Maybe someway somehow an answer to his problem would appear. Without knowing it he didn't realise how fast he was spinning and his glasses were sent flying off, leaving him grasping and coming to a sudden stop.

Fortunately, the glasses land safely on the table. Arching forward, he riches out for it, but while doing so his eyes glace toward something else. Instead of picking the glasses he reaches out to the thing he eying. A picture frame containing the very people he cares about.

His eyes narrow down, a hint of fear in his voice "Maybe... at the very least…. I could save them"

*Back to the child*

Continuing running in the hallway, passing several robot workers on that busy day, her action resembles a bird finally free from its cage. Making a stop to look around. Her head keeps turning from side to side as if she is searching for something.

When the sound of distant laughter caught her attention. She starts walking following the sound and it gets stronger.

Soon the sound brings her to the lounging area where she finds the sources of the laughter. It comes from a child the same height as herself. Getting closer her head turned slightly sideway wondering what could be the cause of that child laughing so hard.

Hand on the stomach, shoulder bumping up and down; the laughing child looks to the left and notices her presence. Their eyes meet reflecting on each other look. Like looking at a mirror on the wall both have strikingly similar features and looks, with a small yet obvious difference.

The one who laughs has a pair of crimson-red eyes with dark brown hair, while the one who walks has a pair of sky-blue eyes and light blond hair. Both wearing a black dress with white collars.

"Yo sis how's your voice?"

Reaching out to her throat she let out a small groan before answering "Better than before. Thanks for asking"

She noticed the brown-haired child's cheeks slowly puffing up to the point she had to hold onto her mouth, as something was about to burst out.

Rolling her eyes, she had expected such a thing from this troller since the day her voice cord broke.

Pointing toward the child with tense eyes, she said "I know what you thinking, you better stop"

Taking a breath in the brown hair child did before answering "Fine, fine. Let's get back to playing... by the way, it's your turn to seek."

The blond one looks with a raised eyebrow; she protests that statement when she says "I was the seeker last time; it should be your turn"

Turning around dumbfounded she returned with a raising voice "No it's your turn!!"

Neither seems willing to back down. Both take a step closer to each other showing their stubbornness. Until the blond one broke the tension with a sigh "Are we really going to argue about this?"

Leaving the other one to also break from being stubborn. "….. No…. Fine, I'll be the seeker. Go hide somewhere; I'll only count to ten"

The child turned around, closed her eyes and started counting, while the other one hurriedly ran looking for a hiding spot. After considering a few spots she ends up picking a very obvious spot to hide on.

"This should be a fine place to hide," said the child behind a metallic trash bin.

Going back to the seeker she had finish counting and begin her searching. "Where could you possibly be hiding?"

The first rule of their hide-and-seek is they could only hide is the same floor they are currently on. Meaning she only needs to search that floor. She goes to a few locations where usually she likes to hide and doesn't find anyone.

It had been a couple of minutes since the last I saw her. Sis couldn't possibly hide in the venting right? The thought of the child as she looks around. Then a metal-like scratch ring behind her. Turning around she looks for the source of the sound.

After watching the surroundings closely, she spotted a yellowish string behind the trash bin which make a devious smile form on the child's face.

On the other side of the trash bin, holding to her mouth, although the child hopes that the seeker didn't hear the sound. She also wonders why her twin takes so long to find her. Unbeknown to her as her eyes go to the right she soon falls to the ground.

"I found you, sis!!.... Oh, oh, you should have seen what your face looks like" The brown hair child laughs with tearing eyes.

It turns out that she had jump scare the blond-haired child which resulting her being shocked and falling to the ground.

Picking herself up her face turns sour "Hey that's not funny!!.. what, what if you were the one in my spot?" the child retaliates.

"It's plenty funny," she said with a smirk on her face.

Tears begin pouring out from the blond-haired child which makes the brown hair child panic and she tries to calm her twin down. "Why are you crying? I was just making a joke!"

Her words didn't stop the cause. Letting off a sigh, the child apologises and suggests they head to the flower garden. Hearing her twin's suggestion, her mood instantly changes.

"You're such a cry-baby" the brown hair child frowns as they walk together.

As they walk the feeling of something missing is in the air and one of them speaks out "Is it just me or does it feel more empty than usual?"

Currently arriving on the first floor, they look around and found nobody.

"Where did everyone go?"

"Maybe everyone just taking a break"

Continue as they reach their destination. Standing right in front of a blue glass door automatically opens as they reach closer to it, their eyes widen with swing jaw. The vibrant colours of all the blooming flowers are fully on display with the sun beaming down dying the place colourful with all its glory.

Hints of aroma from the various flowers that remind them of finely made perfume. The flower garden located at the heart of the building has surpassed their expectation. Pulling her twin's arm, she took a closer look at the flower. "Look at all these flowers!!... There are so many of them!!"

"Yeah right"

Suddenly the child's hand got yank and now facing her smiling siblings. "Let's make flower crowns" the blond hair child spoke out to the brown hair child.

Standing there unresponsive to her twin, the child doesn't know how to answer the request of her siblings because such things aren't to her liking, but she also doesn't want to ruin the mood. After being beg by her twin she finally agrees to it.

"Let's make one for Mom and Dad too"

She briefly nodded before they split up to collect the flowers they needed. The garden is full to the brim; some even grow on the wall. The one who takes care of this garden must have put much love into it. It's a shame we're here to ruin it. The thought of the brown hair child as she starts collecting the flower.

After picking the flowers, they both sat down in the middle of the garden and started to make the flower crown. Quite the time passes when they finish, the sunbeam has dyed the place with orange light. In front of them now are four flower crowns with many leftovers. They had overdone when picking the flower. They promise to apologise to the person who takes care of the garden later on but they put that aside and focus on the crown.

With a smiling face, the blond one picks up one of the crowns and puts it on her bored sister. A crown made from roses, matching with the colour of her eyes and overall personality. "This suits you well, sister"

Being appraised by her smiling sibling she also does the same thing, putting one of the crowns on the head of her twin she says "This one fits you perfectly"

A crown made of blue periwinkle. The flower matches her eye's colour. They praise each other on their look causing them to smile with reding faces. Then, the two could hear a distant shout calling upon their names.

"Nyuro!!.... Auro!! Where are you two my kids?!"

The men from before are calling out to them, but they offer no responses and look in silence at the direction of the shout.
