Checking his system screen always gave him a sense of excitement it still felt surreal to be able to grow stronger by completing his daily quest. He still didn't know how his parents got the ring or why they had it.

'Great my first lesson in the academy and I don't pay attention ' Kieran said stepping out of the classroom and into the hallway along with the rest of his classmates. Coming out of the building Kieran headed towards the cafeteria.
Upon reaching there Kieran was amazed by the size of the place, It was starting to dawn on Kieran the sheer size of the entire academy for it to have such a spacious cafeteria.
Walking up to the counter he picked a tray and got in line as he waited to be served .
" Hey " a voice called out from behind him, turning around to see who called him Kieran saw a blue haired teenager with icy blue eyes even though he was smiling it felt cold and indifferent.
" Umm, hi " Kieran replied awkwardly
" Am Tyler , Tyler Vandel you are " he said with a stretched arm looking for a handshake
" Kieran , Kieran Blake " he replied shaking Tyler's hands.
" Oh my bad this is Jerry Mckleve "Tyler said pointing towards a brown haired teenager standing next to him. He wore a round framed glasses and had a scholarly look
" Hi " Jerry replied his voice a little to soft to be heard clearly.
" He is very shy " Tyler said
" So what are you going to grab? " Tyler asked as the lone moved forward getting to their turn.
" I will go with the chicken soup " Kieran replied as he picked up a bowl of soup putting it onto his plate and walking off.
" H Hey wait up " Tyler called out as he followed behind Kieran along with Jerry.
After finding an empty seat Kieran placed his tray on the table and sat down looking at his two pursuers.
"Why are you guys following me what's wrong " Kieran asked becoming uncomfortable with them.
" Oh I just thought we could be friends and pass through the academy together, with the three of us been friends we can watch out for each other what do you think " Tyler asked staring at the two people sitting with him.
" Okay, you are saying pass this academy together and look out for each other, but are you sure you would stick up for me no matter what, no questions asked " Kieran asked his eyes twitching in annoyance.
" Yeah, I mean that's what it means to be friends right." Tyler replied.
" Well I have had bullies and oppressors but never friends so I am not to sure. " Kieran said eating from his soup.
" Well then, I am Tyler Vandel and I would like to be your friend " Tyler said with a stretched out hand.
Looking at him Kieran showed irritation and annoyance at the two people bothering him
" You believe your name is the only important thing I need to know about you if we are friends "Kieran said drinking his soup and ignoring Tyler's hand.
" Ah well I am sixteen, I was home schooled so I never really made friends and I have an elemental ability ice creation. I can create and control ice. " Tyler said bringing his hands back to his side.
"What about you "Kieran asked looking at Jerry who had just bitten into his sandwich and was chewing. After waiting for him to chew his food and swallow Jerry began to talk
" Am fifteen I attended Moshert high and I have an elemental ability also I can control earth " he said pushing his glasses up on his nose bridge.
" So the both of you have abilities and elemental ones at that nice for you two " Kieran replied
"What's wrong with you we are trying to be friends but you seem disinterested so we will leave "Tyler said getting ready to leave.
" Ha, fine I am sixteen too I am not going to say the name of my former school and I don't have an ability " Kieran said.
" You don't have an ability "Tyler repeated
" Yes, why you don't want to be friends anymore " Kieran asked looking at the two opposite him with a dead look
" No that's not what I meant "
" So you signed up for the program " Tyler asked
" Yes I did " Kieran replied drinking the last of his soup
" Does this mean we are friends " Jerry asked " Cause you introduced yourself and all that "
" Friends " Tyler asked as he stretched his hands out again and this time Kieran shook it
" Sure " Kieran replied shaking Jerry's hand next
" So are guys pumped up for the next class " Tyler asked
" HNT102 Threat identification yeah am pretty pumped up " Kieran replied
" I heard it teaches us about beasts and how to grade them " Jerry said already finished with his meal.
" How cool is it that we are in the hunter academy training to be next generation hunters " Tyler said his face showed excitement but when one looked in his eyes it said a different story, it was like he couldn't express his emotions clearly due to his eyes.
