Ficool

Chapter 190 - Unstoppable Force and Immovable Object

Muni had always admired the others in the crew due to their goals and mentalities.

To her, it seemed she would only be tied to Z'oelo for life, so she had less of a need to focus on her strength.

After all, she was only a spirit companion.

"Tell her what you told me," Theef spoke to his own companion.

Since they were both spirits, they had no problem seeing and hearing each other.

"You can call me Cloak," he spoke nicely while adjusting his hood to his shoulder, "As I was telling this idiot, you and Ram were also intertwined as Z'oelo has only one livellum. It could be said that the ancient earrings were also an extension of you since you now have sole control of the organ."

It could be said that Ram was only a leftover spirit of the inherited earrings.

Unfortunately for Ram, he could not explain things before his personality was stored safely in the Cosmic Structure.

This function was something Ego discovered as the Emotions fused with them.

The Cosmic Structure could store the "footprint" of whatever was integrated with it and even bring it out whenever they chose.

Ego enjoyed feeling the Emotions ebb and flow within them instead of keeping them stored within the structure.

If the situation ever arose, Ego could scour through the battle spirit's other functions and even absorb him to create a replica.

That was their contingency if Rage ended up not helping Z'oelo improve.

Now that Cloak had explained the basics, Muni was left to figure out full control of the livellum and the ancient earrings.

Well, she was not alone in this endeavor, but she wanted to prove herself amongst the crew.

"Are you seriously going to postpone this for so long? I'm going crazy," Klein was acting strange as he kept begging for a fight.

"What's your deal, man? Don't you wanna have a fair fight?"

Klein took the question seriously as he stared at Muni's physical form.

Theef was about to perform something when Klein interrupted, but the usually introverted nerd was not having it for some reason.

"You want to help Muni? I'll help then," there was no trace of doubt in his mind when he said those words.

As if he had always been there, Klein teleported next to Muni's physical form.

"You want to know the secret behind comprehending a Universal Rule? There's only one solid method I've come to understand and that is to align yourself fully to a facet of life."

He continued, "To put it simply, you have to be crazy about something to the point it drives you. Use your feelings to find it then obsess over it!"

Muni felt more shocks than she could count overwhelm her to the core.

Seeing that she was about to understand, Klein gave one last thought, "If you want to attack, be an unstoppable force. If you want to defend, be an immovable object."

Muni was tougher than the average girl and had a hardened mind that made her more resilient.

She could handle matters that would make any other person struggle.

Her parents had wanted a son desperately, so she was treated like one until the day her brother was born.

Once that happened, they almost ignored her entirely.

This forced her to become more independent and a bit resentful of others.

Upon first meeting Z'oelo, she thought he was just another brat who had everything she did not.

After seeing his past though, she understood why he acted the way he did and was even jealous that he was able to express himself in his own way.

It was Klein and Z'oelo that had a sort of rivalry, but was Muni not an extension of Z'oelo's might?

As such, she took Klein's words and tried to apply them to herself.

The metal that her physical form was made of was hard to understand.

To call if spirit metal would be a damnable action, but that was the best explanation as to what it was.

It acted the same way normal metal did except there was yet to be something that scratched or dented it.

Muni's way of wielding her physical form relied on her using a fraction of the ki Z'oelo had to guide her actions.

She could hardly feel it as smaller parts coming together to form a whole weapon.

It was her entire body.

When she traced the parts of the livellum that were previously locked down by Ram, she felt the intensity of the bloodthirst that the ancient earrings held.

It was as if they held boundless intent which could hone a spirit's nature as a bloodthirsty fighter.

Instead of blinding her with this feeling, Muni felt as if a whole new world opened up for her.

If she focused hard enough, she could sense the flow of blood in others and as if she was given the inheritance of a butcher, she instinctively knew where to strike in order to cause the effects she intended.

If she wanted to torture someone, she knew where best to prolong suffering and bleed slowly.

'What's stopping me from Transcending? Why can't I find the way to my own Universal Rule?'

Z'oelo sensed her worries and consoled her, "This isn't like me, but I'm here for you. It makes me feel a bit immasculated hearing about how much you want to protect me and all. Just know that I don't need you to be a weapon all the time."

His words were the key that unlocked Muni's transformation.

Her physical form melted into a stream of liquid metal that flowed into the livellum.

With an additional stream of energy flowing from the ancient earrings, her spirit form glowed before growing in size.

When the light faded, she looked almost exactly like her previous self.

The only difference was that she still carried her fairy-like demeanor and clothing.

Inside of the livellum, the liquid metal took in the bloodthirst.

Noticing what was happening, Z'oelo focused on every change going on.

The liquid metal was turning deeper and deeper shades of red while ancient runes glowed a nice and clear cerulean.

Not long after the addition of the runes, Muni was ready to finalize the process.

She was about to enter the livellum when Theef stopped her, "If you want that bod of yours to satisfy your man, just humor me before running yourself dry."

Muni was confused considering Klein just told her what to ascribe to.

"Remember we got cheats," Theef laughed, "Ol' Cap'n Theef knows better than to make one of his crew members blow up."

He sent over a mixture of energy that he was working on and let her figure the rest out.

The energy itself was shiny like metal, but was formed of nanoscopic fragments that shifted in form ever so slightly.

Muni took the energy with her into the livellum where it fused with the liquid metal and made the cerulean runes carry a brilliant iridescence.

With the addition of the energy, Muni finally felt the entirety of the metal down to its smallest parts.

Now, she was confident in her choice of Universal Rule.

Z'oelo himself was coming along as he reached for something within.

Despite not being as clever as Klein, Z'oelo had dug deep inside himself to find something worth committing to.

No matter how hard he wracked his brain, he always ended up thinking of his father's teachings.

In hindsight, the Sword Sovereign taught him how to better control his emotions despite the resentment that was built up between the two.

For that reason, Z'oelo chose to go out of his way for a Universal Rule that made up for his and Muni's shortcomings.

'It hardly comes into play outside of battle, but I did inherit a useful ability,' Z'oelo thought while referring to the weak point targeting.

And thus, he visited a new but old method of achieving strength above all others.

'With this, I'll unleash what's been hidden inside of me alongside Rage!'

The Asura Battle Spirit flared with a new foundation of power: the Universal Rule of Vulnerability!

On Muni's side, she still felt the call of the bloodthirst, but beyond that she felt the vastness of Rage and her new physical form.

Slowly, the liquid metal escaped from Z'oelo's livellum and took on the form of the young fairy.

Her skin was bronze-like and her hair was a deep purple that reflected light like metal.

Z'oelo had a look in his eyes as he closed in on the little girl, "There's my Muni! Haha!"

Muni wanted to question his ridiculousness, but he scooped her in all four of his arms.

"Stop! You idiot! Where are you touching!"

None of her protests were working, but she had a smile on her face the entire time.

"Ugh! I'm just going to attack okay! Don't blame me for bullying you!"

Even with the warning, Klein did not use his full strength, but he still sent a fireball in their direction.

As if the incoming danger were not present, Z'oelo still spun around with Muni in his arms like an idiot.

With the fireball hurdling in their direction, Muni looked into Z'oelo's arms and he stilled.

"All I am is yours," she said before kissing his unexpecting lips.

Her Universal Rule was simple since Muni herself was a simple gal.

She had neither the experience nor the ingenuity of the other two, but there was a reason she was among those who survived the initial World Rebirth.

Even Barter's Ruler never saw her as her own person and only instructed them while she just awkwardly faded into the background.

No longer did she have to be a side character.

Muni was going to take over the stage and let the cosmos know of her Universal Rule of Indominability!

To begin with, Muni was tomboyish, so she was taken aback by the feelings Z'oelo had for her.

She did not consider herself to be attractive, but her looks were definitely above average no matter how one measured.

Were it not for the unfortunate circumstances she found herself in, she would be on the level of a homecoming queen.

Feeling the emotions Z'oelo had for her made her happy from the bottom of her heart.

It was as if someone was actually paying attention to her and seeing her for who she was.

It was a vulnerable thing to open up to someone so much, but Z'oelo did not mind the invasion of privacy.

That was why Muni felt the need to be the cutthroat one of the two.

She actually felt that Z'oelo was someone that needed her protection rather than someone to be protected by.

So when the scorching fireball came flying in their direction, Muni did not break the kiss as she immersed herself in the sensation.

While Z'oelo's Universal Rule of Vulnerability took the danger the fireball possessed and rendered it harmless, Muni's was the Universal Rule of Indominability that also rendered the fireball useless for obvious reasons.

Once the fireball landed directly on the two lovebirds, it unfazed them as either one of their Universal Rules could stop it from injuring them.

Barter's Ruler could not help but smile as he admired the progress of the three, 'I've got to find a better process of saturating my soul. These youngsters are already starting to surpass me.'
