Chapter 174 - Time Passed

After setting the destination, Theef piloted the ship out into space on the correct path.

As he did so, Null and the twins gathered into the ship's open space where they could properly train.

The new and improved ship was way larger than the previous hunk of scrap.

It was also revamped to contain a bathroom, many more rooms, a kitchen, navigation room, and a small Captain's Quarters.

Undoubtedly, Theef and Barter's Ruler made this ship with all the passion of enthusiasts.

Theef already knew the ins and outs of the junk ship, so he used the previous model as a reference.

Then, using the broken parts of the ship Theef utilized the mofei to manipulate a metal capable of withstanding heat and Barter's Ruler filled in the missing pieces with his Ruler's Gold.

Uncharacteristically, Barter's Ruler helped with the plumbing and electric work stating that he had learned some skills before becoming the ruler he was in the present.

Inside the creation, Null copied their energies in an attempt to understand them and utilize them.

Tino's energy was a beautiful scarlet much like his blood and was capable of powering any circle whether it be summoning or transference.

Additionally, it contained the power of whatever essence it absorbed and allowed the ability to manifest said essences physical traits.

The type of physical manifestation depended on the wielder's degree of compatibility with the essence.

'This is basically the inverse of Theef's ability to turn himself into whatever humanoid being after absorbing their energy. He can manifest the traits of beings through their essence.'

Null remained silent while he took it upon himself to ruminate over the possible implementations of the ability.

He also had Ego speak with Theef about how he felt whenever he shifted races since he could basically perform the ability of each with little to no effort on his end.

Tino had way less experience understanding himself despite living for as long as he had.

He could not perform as well as Theef when he took on other forms, but that did not mean he was entirely clueless.

It was his ability after all!

Since he was most familiar with demonic essence, Null had him transform the most he could into one.

Tino nodded and began channeling the demonic essence throughout his body via his enchanted blood.

His teeth sharpened, eyes dimmed, and a horn sprouted from the top of his forehead.

"This is my current limit," Tino said in a low growl.

"Hmm," Null examined his features and noted the changes in his mentality, "I'd say complete transformation is impossible, but going further from here should go smoothly."

It was at this time that Theef and Ego left the navigation room.

"I've come to impart some wisdom to my precious crewmate!"

"What have you learnt so far, Null?"

They both spoke upon entering the training space and Null smiled.

"Go ahead and impart your wisdom, dumbass. I'll let you know what I've got so far, Ego."

The pairs split up while Angie was twiddling her thumbs on her own.

Null had a much easier time analyzing Tino's energy with the help of the Cosmic Structure as it not only organized his energies, but emanated their true meanings once logged.

Ego had ample processing power to translate the true meanings into abilities and whatnot.

Null was more of a feelings guy, but Ego developed themselves alongside the Cosmic Structure which was more orderly and played out.

When they were about to begin training, Ego suddenly received messages from the Devine Couple, Klein, and Z'oelo.

As it turned out, their progress had improved to the point that Evangeline understood a Universal Rule and both Klein and Z'oelo stepped into the Immortal stage.

After congratulating them and informing them on how far they were from the next flame, the conversations ended in a, "See you then."

Their improvements only made Tino and Angie more eager to learn and practice themselves until they too reached that point.

It was time to get serious.

Null let Ego tutor Tino while he focused on Angie.

Her abilities were very different from Tino's as she was an information bank on everything witchy.

It also affected her personality a bit making her viler for reasons Null could only assume benefitted her witchcraft and ingenuity.

Most witchcraft was innately harmful, so a personality that matched that was only going to be equally harsh.

She also seemed to be more intelligent like Klein, a bookworm type.

The only circles she had practiced were the summoning circles, but she felt confident she could scrawl every circle she knew from memory.

In addition to that, she recalled various hexes and rituals— even potion making and alchemy!

This girl was a walking library of witchcraft knowledge, and it was time to tap into that strength.

First, Null had her perform the different circles to get the feel of it.

There were quite a few that ranged from summoning and transference to purification and transmutation.

Her actions were that of a skilled and experienced witch who had practiced her passion for many years.

Her work was nothing less than art.

Once finished, she looked to Null who was still a bit shocked by her display of scrawling.

She had been using blood that Tino had produced but it still looked marvelous.

It was to be noted that he produced blood faster the more he lost as a way to provide him with as much as he needed.

"Alright. Next is hexes. It should be fine if you dictate me as the target."

"Are you sure? I'm not entirely sure how potent they might be without prior experience."

"I'm sure, I'm sure. Even if it were to end up bad, Ego here can dispel the energy and forcefully remove the hex."

"Alright then," Angie resigned herself.

She cast one hex after another at the highest strength she could in order for Null to experience the full brunt of each one.

Some could not be observed at once like the unlucky hex, but for those like the simple curse hex, Null could feel the pain it caused him immediately.

Still, Angie kept on casting without stopping, her energy reserves being rather deep.

Once she was finished with the last hex, Null was slightly hypnotized and full of nasty pus filled bumps.

Ego sent a wave of spirit water through his body to clear him of the ailments.

"Those are pretty dangerous considering they messed even me."

The experience was not too painful for him, but he did feel worse at times which proved Angie's strength.

They went on to try each and every trick she had and by the time they were finished, they had arrived at the planet with the spirit, Terresa.
