Chapter 98 - Outta Here

"That's right. I've carried this secret with me for my entire life and yet one look and you've seen through it all."

The Sword Sovereign once accused of having a secret ability opened up about the truth.

"Every Livelli has the chance to provide a unique power to their partner whether it be a small trinket or a weapon such as mine."

"Ah! So the fact that Null and Theef have such peculiar methods of using their Livelli was because of this?"

Klein was jealous of the fact that the others had their methods of harnessing foreign powers for their own use.

He turned to the only other member who shared his shortcomings only to see that he was idly kneeling by himself while observing the ongoing circumstances.

"How is it that you travel with these guys with no special powers of you own?"

Barter's Ruler was piqued by the question only to be interrupted by Null who happened to hear it.

"Is that what you think? This guy's technically on a whole other power scaling compared to us."

Barter's Ruler explained further about the matter, "In the universe, there is a widely known and followed power ranking that goes as follows: mortal, immortal, transcendent, and enlightened."

"It isn't always that simple, but the basic standards for each are renowned among the masses."

Null remembered all that happened on Planet Barter what with the confusion as to whether he was an immortal or transcendent.

"So what are the basis for each rank? Is being able to fly one of them?"

"Ah," Barter's Ruler was not aware of the happenings, but knew about his ordeal back then, "That is one of the widely known separations between mortals and immortals."

He continued, "While immortal may not be the best way to put it as most beings under the category are still constrained by a lifespan, it is under this rank that most supernatural abilities arise."

"Defying the most natural force of gravity is a fundamental marking point as to how a mortal becomes something more."

"Some like to call those that aren't too powerful as Transient beings as they are in between mortality and immortality.

"From then on, it's transcendence that separates immortals from the truly powerful of the universe."

After the explanation, it was elucidated to all of those in the room previously unaware of the differences in power.

"What then would we be considered as," Klein was the first to ask.

The room was silent.

"I recall being considered as an enlightened," Null spoke.

"That... even I must admit there are no perfect references to dictate your power level," Barter's Ruler admitted knowingly.

From the cosmic structure— now controlled by Ego— to the expansive vortex that was Void, Null had a strange arsenal in his possession.

"I'd say you got potential kid," Barter's Ruler simply shrugged off the power level Null was on.

"It's true. Not that I've been to many planets in the solar system but mofei is one of the more powerful magics of your power level," Theef added.

If he said so, then it must be true; as it stood, Theef had the most experience of them all when it came to travel.

Barter's Ruler grew up on his own planet before it was what it became under his rule and while he had made a plethora of connections such as the Wanderer's Guild and other off planet groups, he still resided on the planet to gradually grow his power of wealth.

"Alrighty so we're done here, right?"

Z'oelo spoke out after hearing the conversation grow past what he was concerned with.

Muni berated his uncaring attitude with a stifled grumble and a palm to his face.

Her small stature and inability to actually touch his physical self still shone despite the futile effort.

Null seemed to enjoy it as he chuckled at the closeness of the two that only he could see as a result of his connection with them.

"What're you laughing at," Z'oelo spat.

While he had opened his heart up to Muni, his personality still remained the same after the fact.

The others did not know what to make of the exchange and just looked at the two— and the invisible third— dumbly.

Null smiled and said, "No it's a good thing you two ended up together. In fact I'd like to reunite with my girl sometime and share what the two of you have."

The message carried an unknown weight with it as the crew were aware of the elusive Sophina after Null's explanation of It.

"We'll get her back man," was all Z'oelo could awkwardly but sincerely put.

"Mmm," Null grunted with approval.

"Now it's time we blew this popsicle stand. Are y'all with me?!"

"Yeah!"

The crew united with a cheer.

At this point, the crew had the addition of three of the flames that were marked on the cosmic chart.

They were revealed to be those last survivors on the planet of Null's predecessor, the Creator.

What reasons there were as to why they were chosen to reincarnate was unclear, but the solidarity they had together made them capable of weathering all that was to come.

On his home planet, Null overcame the Creator and met with Theef, an indispensable ally and friend.

On Planet Barter, Null overcame his struggles with Void taking over his fragile sense of self and met with Barter's Ruler, a wise leader and powerful force.

On Planet Mamon, Null overcame the loss of the cosmic structure and met with Klein, an equally strong willed and creative mind.

And now, Null had overcame the secular, peculiar spirit that was Ego as an met with both Z'oelo and Muni, two battle ready companions that were ready just as everyone else to progress their journey.

After this, the cosmic chart held the last two flames one crimson black and the other honey white that were on a whole other plane of existence.

How they would reach this plane and reunite with the two spirits was just another trial to overcome in the foreseeable future as the crew grew in strength.

Alone, they were powerful in their own rights, but together they were capable of feeding on each other's strengths and shaving away at their weaknesses.

It would take up to one hundred thousand years for them to fail the game set by It and It's conniving self.

Would Sophina even be the same by the time they were capable of reaching the dastardly beings realm?

Null tried not to think about such things as he relied on both him and all of his allies to keep his mental afloat.

For now, they would leave Plantet Lokhil behind as they journeyed onwards towards the unknown.
