Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Mr. Wordsworth’s fury

Heloise's whole body jolted; he must have recognized her.

It's time to put all her cards on the table!

She was about to stand up when Ben stepped aside and said, "Mr. Wordsworth, it's not worth your trouble to discipline her because she doesn't understand at all. Just tell Jane and Harriet to be careful with her diet."

Ben knew that Reginald was a possessive, managerial person, and nobody could touch his belongings, but Ben did not expect that Reginald would treat a woman in the same manner.

Reginald lowered his eyes to gaze at her expressionless face, his fingertips pressed on the soft groove below her lips, and his eyes grew deeper and deeper, seeming to see through everything.

Suddenly, he laughed, "You're quite right. How can I expect a psychotic to understand me?"

"..."

Heloise couldn't acquaint herself with Reginald at all.

If he didn't recognize her, and he inexplicably said these words to her; While if he recognized her at the snack market, and there was no reason why he wouldn't expose her.

Forget about it.

She decided to respond to the situation as it was.

Reginald took Heloise's hand and held it in his palm. She wore a silver electronic lock on her slender wrist, "Can it be unlocked?"

Ben looked over it and returned, "This electronic lock utilizes a special material to make it, it's very hard and can't be opened without a special tool, but such tools are acquired by the Presidential Office, so ordinary people can't get them at all."

  "Is it?"

Reginald raised an eyebrow.

"There were once some people in the slums who tried to escape to the city by any means necessary, and they even cut off their hands in order to get rid of the lock to avoid being recognized." Ben added.

The ones who would be sent to the slums were the trashiest beings, and in the eyes of the general public, no one from that kind of place deserved to be called a human being.

Once anybody found someone in the city with an electronic lock on their wrist, they would report immediately and the fugitives would receive extremely harsh penalties.

Heloise certainly knew it well, which was why she wore a long-sleeved dress when she went out today.

"So, with this thing on, she'll be nothing but a filthy thing in the slums for the rest of her life."

Reginald turned the electronic lock on her wrist, but failed because it was too tight against her skin, then he said gently, "It's too much of an eyesore, remodel it and change it into a bracelet."

"Yes, Sir."

Ben bowed his head in response, standing under the tree in a daze.

Was it necessary to disguise this electronic lock? Anyway, the girl had already been trapped in Hyacinth Garden and could never flee, and also others could not come in, so who would know that Mr. Wordsworth, the CEO of the first Consortium in PHOENIXFELL Empire was hiding a psycho from the ghetto?

Ben had a lot of questions, but didn't dare to ask him, and he could only ask weakly, "Is Mr. Wordsworth going to rest here tonight?"

"Uh-huh."

Reginald answered simply.

"..."

No!

Would he stay here tonight?

He hadn't done anything bad to her before, but it didn't mean that he wouldn't do something evil to her tonight.

Heloise was in a state of panic, and she was spinning with ideas in her brain, when Reginald answered the call.

As he stood there listening, the smile that had been tugging originally at the corners of his lips disappeared, and his entire face changed into gloom.

With his change in the face, the restaurant was sunk into doom, as dead as a grave.

Ben and Jane both lowered their heads.

"Go back to the manor!"

Reginald hung up the phone and said in a cold voice before walking out the door without looking back.

Ben hurried to follow him out.

Heloise couldn't believe he was gone.

She breathed a huge sigh of relief and touched the electronic lock on her wrist, and she felt herself quaking in my boots, without control.

Today she tossed and turned had been so thrilling!

"I was scared out of my wits! I was really scared out of my wits!"

Jane sat down, reaching out and patting her chest, "If this young master comes to Hyacinth Garden a few more times, my life will be shortened by a few years."

Harriet came over with soup from the kitchen, and when she saw that Reginald had already left, she couldn't help but ask, "Why did Young Master leave?"

"He received a phone call and returned to the manor with a black face." Jane said, with a mysterious look in her face, "I think it's definite that the old master hooked a whore back again, and that's what caused the young master to be so furious."

It had always been like this all these years.
