Chapter 151 - A Single Drop of Poison (150)

They arrived at a grand structure that unmistakably resembled a laboratory—the very place Lyam had directed them to. The building stood with an air of wisdom and history, its sturdy stone walls bearing the weight of centuries. A massive wooden door loomed ahead, its presence both protective and foreboding. Flickering torches lined the entrance, casting shifting shadows that deepened the aura of mystery surrounding the place. As the dragons descended gracefully, they dismounted with measured caution, approaching the entrance with a mix of anticipation and unease. A lingering sense of uncertainty settled over them–what awaited beyond these doors?

Two imposing guards flanked the entrance, their watchful eyes assessing their every move. When they attempted to step forward, one of them raised a hand, blocking their path.

" Apologies, children, " he said firmly, " but entry is restricted without the leader's direct authorization. "

They exchanged uncertain glances, momentarily unsure of how to proceed. Starfania stood forward and looked him in the eyes and said. " Lyam gave us orders to deliver this poison to your head scientist immediately. "

The guards exchanged wary looks, clearly debating whether to believe them. One of them arched an eyebrow, scrutinizing Aeron and Vi before asking, " And why should we trust your word? "

Aeron met his gaze with steady confidence. " Because it's the truth, sir. "

Vi nodded in agreement. " I was there. I saw Lyam himself give the order. "

For a moment, silence hung in the air as the guard deliberated. A small chirping noise could be heard in the distance. As they all turned to face where the noise was coming from a blue dragon still cradling a precious egg. Its shimmering sapphire scales glistened under the dim light, and its sleek body moved with regal grace. With piercing blue eyes and razor-sharp claws. The guard stepped forward, extending a gentle hand to the creature. He murmured softly, stroking its scales before retrieving a small, tightly rolled note from its claw. Unfurling the message, he scanned its contents before looking up at the trio.

" The notes grant you passage, " he said, " but only under the conditions that the Dragon Savior herself gives him the vial. "

Without hesitation, the guard released the dragon, watching as it soared back into the sky. Then, with swift efficiency, he unlocked the heavy doors, granting them entry. Atlas and Drogo, ever curious, followed behind, their eyes darting around in fascination as they all stepped inside. The laboratory was a marvel–vast and temming with intricate machinery, tools, and computers. Beakers and test tubes lined the metal countertops, some filled with swirling liquid of unknown purpose. Shelves overflowed with books, loose papers, and ancient scrolls. In the center of the room stood a large table, its surface cluttered with maps and complex diagrams. Starfania leaned towards Arron, whispering, " This is nothing like VulcanFire lavatory. "

Arron gave a slow nod, his eyes wide with wonder. " It's incredible. "

Violet, equally captivated, let out a quiet breath.

" You can say that again, " she said, unable to tear her gaze away from the scene before them.
