Yun Jiao's eyes were fixed on the grain in the field when she heard Taohua suddenly stop speaking. She turned her head and saw Taohua collapsed on the ground.
Yun Jiao quickly put the grain in her hand into the bamboo basket, stood up, and crossed the field ridge. She was about to help Taohua up when Taohua's mother-in-law, Mrs. Qin, also ran over. Seeing Taohua unconscious in the field, she immediately reached out to pinch Taohua's philtrum.
Yun Jiao had to loosen her grip. Mrs. Qin pinched hard, and Taohua breathed out, slowly coming to her senses. She looked at the sky above her, "What happened to me?"
Mrs. Qin assumed Taohua was pretending to be lazy. Annoyed, she said, "You fake fainting over such little work, always shirking, now get up!" With that, she reached out to pull her up.
Taohua propped herself up to sit on the ground, tears brimming in her eyes, "Mother, I didn't—"
Yun Jiao stopped Mrs. Qin, "Aunt, don't rush her to get up, let her rest for a while first."
