When the maid called her, she was lying in bed with a splitting headache, feeling as if the whole room was shaking.
The maid knocked on the door and said, "Miss Fristy, the old man said they're leaving for the airport soon, please come downstairs."
Fristy Davis sat up: "Okay... I know, I... I'll come down right away..."
She struggled to get out of bed, and her body weakened, causing her to flop onto the floor.
She was so feverish that her limbs were weak and she felt dizzy.
But Fristy Davis felt this was a good opportunity, a chance to gain the sympathy of the Old Man and Madam, to let them see that she had braved the long journey through the rain with a high fever to bring them back. She didn't believe even then, they wouldn't be moved.
Fristy Davis haphazardly put on some clothes and shakily opened the door to head downstairs.
