Matilda Jenkins ran very fast and, in the blink of an eye, entered the elevator.
Nathan Cole reacted and called out, "Milly... Milly... where are you going?"
But she was already in the elevator, far beyond hearing him now.
Nathan Cole, feeling uneasy, chased after her, but the other elevator was in use.
So Nathan Cole simply took the stairs. He ran quickly, the stairwell echoing with the sound of his footsteps.
"That girl, why did she suddenly run like that? Who was she talking about..." Nathan muttered to himself as he ran. He felt like Matilda Jenkins had suddenly gone mad, completely out of control.
When he probably reached the sixth or seventh floor, he turned a corner and saw a man dressed in a black T-shirt, black pants, and wearing a hat. The man was slowly walking down, right in the middle of the road.
Nathan Cole shouted, "Excuse me, excuse me..."
He ran past the man, quickly leaving him far behind.
After he ran far ahead, that man stopped in his tracks.
