Damn it, is this woman toxic or what!
It's only been a few days...
His Adam's apple bobbed a few times as he shifted his gaze from her face to the pot in the chef's hand.
He frowned slightly, his tone carrying a hint of reproach.
"With a chef here, what are you doing in the kitchen?"
Yumi Stewart pressed her lips together, her eyes flickering, and finally looked elsewhere, hiding the disappointment in her eyes. She moved slightly and pushed Jackson Russo away, stepping out of his embrace.
"Just curious, I heard your brother hired a master of Sichuan cuisine for your sister-in-law, so I wanted to take a look."
The embrace only lasted a minute or two, but seeing it empty made Joel Russo suddenly feel a bit uncomfortable.
One dish was quickly finished, and the chef placed it on a plate, glancing between the two of them.
Then he stepped aside and said to Yumi Stewart:
"Didn't you say you wanted to give it a try? Go ahead now."
