Ruth Upperton was overjoyed, quickly set down her bowl, and hurried to the living room doorway, shouting from afar, "Julian, have you had breakfast? Come and join us."
"..." Julian ignored her.
His expression was fierce and cold as iron.
Ruth's enthusiasm felt like a bucket of cold water had been poured over her, chilling her to the core, leaving her stunned and stiff.
But, she knew it was her own fault.
She had personally pushed her grandson away, onto the opposite, hostile side, and now she tried to ingratiate herself with a smiling face. Would he be pleased?

Julian moved past her without a sideways glance, not even pausing, heading to the dining room.
Bertha Marley saw him, was very happy, stood up, grinning sweetly, "Julian, long time no see."
"You've been freeloading at my house and won't leave, hmm?"
