She was lost in thought when suddenly, a pair of large, angry eyes locked onto her. "What are you sneaking a look at?"
"Ah!"
Anna reacted as though she'd seen a ghost.
Since when did Laura notice her?
But she quickly regained her composure. After all, this wasn't Laura's house, and certainly not her room. Anna directly slid the door open, stepped inside, and motioned towards Laura, guiding her, "Miss Laura, please follow me. I'll take you to your room."
"Wait a moment." Laura didn't follow.
Instead, she interrogated her again, "What were you just sneakily watching outside the door?"
"Nothing at all."
Anna kept her cool effortlessly, her voice entirely unshaken. "Honestly, I just happened to come to the door. Plus, this is Miss Cherline's room. I clean here every day, so there's nothing worth sneaking a look at, right?"
"It'd better be that way."
Laura threatened her, "If I hear any unpleasant rumors, do you know what the consequences will be?"
