It's strange.
Just after they finished talking, Clarissa Lindsey lifted her little head, staring blankly as she rubbed her eyes, "Did I fall asleep again?"
What do you mean 'again'?
Several girls exchanged looks, stammering, "Yes, you did."
Clarissa Lindsey gathered her little backpack with gratitude, "Thank you, guys."
"You're welcome."
The girls reminded her to take her English homework with her and helped organize her slightly messy desk.
Clarissa Lindsey was a tad surprised.
What's with these people today?
Why are they suddenly so nice to her?
But she didn't have time to ponder because mommy had been waiting at the school gate all afternoon. If she didn't go out now, would her mother charge in to find her?
Saying this, she slung her backpack over her shoulders and plunged into the crowd, "I'll go ahead first."
Just after running down from the lecture hall, she playfully bumped into a boy in front who had paused in his steps.
