On the public bus.
Ella Lacey gazed out the window at the rapidly moving scenery and the ever-changing pedestrians, each so familiar yet so foreign.
She leaned against her window seat, tears silently streaming down.
It wasn't sadness.
It wasn't fear.
It was just an instinctive reaction.
Having once been kidnapped herself, she knew all too well the kidnapper's arrogance and couldn't help but worry what hardships her darling baby might be enduring...
...
45 minutes later.
On the 102 bus, an announcement rang out, "We have reached the final stop of this route. Passengers exiting the bus, please take your belongings with you. See you on your next ride."
Ella Lacey was the first to rush out. She sat near the exit door and immediately took out her phone after disembarking, calling the devil, "You can see where I am, right? I'm alone! Let me see my daughter now!"
"Mrs. Lindsey, what's the rush?"
