Back to the study room upstairs.
A faint halo of light spilled down, falling on Arthur's sculpted facial contours, perfectly matching and enchanting.
Ella tiptoed over, not yet close when she got caught—
"Lacey girl, why aren't you going back to your room to rest, hmm?"
"Waiting for you."
Ella leaned softly against his shoulder, watching him work diligently on the documents, and said with a smile, "Arthur, do you ever think about retiring?"
"What, you want me to stay at home and accompany you every day?" Arthur Lindsey's deep, ink-like eyes remained on the computer screen.
He was currently drafting an international merger plan and was in the final stages of it.
"It's not about having you accompany me every day; it's just that I see you're so busy every day and no one helps share the burden, I just feel sorry for you."
Ella was telling the truth.
