Salem reluctantly held on to the last two palm-sized grenades in his hand, calculated the dropping point of the grenades, then turned and executed a bird entering the woods maneuver, temporarily escaping into the distance.
Isabella Lindsey and Julion Johnsons both leapt towards Sophie Foster, who was lying on the ground. Almost at the same time, each grabbed one of the unconscious Sophie's shoulders and rapidly jumped away into the distance.
"Boom boom boom boom..."
A series of grenade explosions louder than thunder made all three of their ears ring.
As soon as the explosions ceased, Salem turned and pounced back into the fray.
Julion Johnsons loosened his grip on Sophie Foster's shoulder, quickly swapped his legs on the ground as if riding a galloping war horse, and sped off to meet Salem head-on!
