Romney Queens felt he had been completely outwitted, and by a young girl at that. Even though he and Madison York had been crystal clear with each other, his good intentions that night had only muddied the waters between them even more.
That morning when Madison York left, she said to him, "Don't feel burdened, we're both adults. Just think of last night as getting drunk and doing something foolish, and then let's forget it ever happened."
Romney listened to her and breathed a sigh of relief. He had thought about taking responsibility, but the girl was more open-minded than he was, and didn't expect him to take responsibility at all.
He thought this incident would just pass, and after splitting up with Madison York, he had not initiated any contact with her, nor had she contacted him. It seemed as if the period when they pretended to date each other never existed.
