"Lover swap?" Scarlett mused silently. Connor Osborne had indeed been Anna Ainsworth's husband, but Jeremy Thompson wasn't her husband at all, he was merely engaged to her.
In a blink, Connor Osborne was already close by. Seeing Scarlett and Amelia, he politely nodded, "Hello, I'm Connor Osborne."
Amelia, a little flattered, reached out her hand to shake his, her heart pounding furiously. This Connor Osborne, why did he look even more handsome than in the newspapers?
"Shall we go," Connor Osborne said, looking down slightly at Scarlett beside him. "Didn't you mention something about starting a dance party?"
Scarlett nodded, taking his arm and said, "A masquerade my classmates are throwing. Everyone's supposed to bring their own date, and since you're here, you can be my temporary boyfriend."
Temporary? Connor Osborne glanced at her, speaking meaningfully, "It doesn't have to be temporary."
