Erasa, curious about the purpose of the room she was in, activated her "vision" ability. With this power, she observed everything happening in the house: Ben and his wife were talking in their bedroom, while Jérôme slept deeply, immersed in a sleep so heavy he seemed unreachable.
Realizing what a bedroom was for, Erasa, who had never slept since her birth, decided to try. She lay down, closed her eyes, and fell asleep. Yet even asleep, she remained conscious: part of her mind detached from her body and began to wander the house. She approached Jérôme, intrigued.
Erasa wondered what he did during his sleep and whether he was in the same state as her. Doubting it, she entered Jérôme's consciousness and discovered he was dreaming. Everything was blurry, and in the dream, Jérôme was repeatedly fetching and carrying water. Quietly, Erasa entered his dream unnoticed and darkened the dream sky.
In the dream, Jérôme said, "Oh no, it's going to rain, I'd better hurry…" Suddenly, his hands were empty, and he found himself alone, lost in an unknown void surrounded by dark, silent forests.
Panicked, Jérôme ran. Amused, Erasa laughed heartily.
She followed Jérôme's path, and suddenly he transformed into a giant black-scaled serpent. Terrified, Jérôme screamed as the serpent attacked him. Shocked, he woke up with a start, drenched in sweat, thinking it was just a nightmare. Erasa, still in her spiritual form, was still laughing heartily in her room.
The next morning, Ben quietly entered Erasa's room to check if she was still sleeping. To his surprise, she was still lying down. But when he went to the living room, he found Erasa standing in the hallway. Panicked, he fell backward.
Ben asked, "But… how did you do that?"
Erasa replied calmly, "Good morning, sir, how are you?"
Still troubled, Ben returned to Erasa's room to check, but the bed was empty. He remembered that Erasa probably possessed extraordinary abilities.
Shortly after, Ben told Erasa she would spend the day with Jérôme because he and his wife had to go to the market.
Ben said, "Be good, okay?"
Erasa answered, "Okay, Mr. Ben!"
In the living room, Jérôme looked tired, yawning repeatedly. Erasa sat beside him.
"Hello, Jérôme," she said.
"Oh, it's you… you already know my name?" he replied.
"Your father told me," said Erasa.
"Oh, I see. And what's your name?" Jérôme asked.
"My name is Erasa… Why do you look so tired?" she asked.
"I just had a bad night with useless nightmares!" Jérôme replied.
Jérôme's parents left the house, leaving the two young people alone. Jérôme then asked Erasa her age.
"I'm 10 million years old," Erasa answered.
Incredulous, Jérôme gave a mocking smile.
"You could just say you don't want to tell me your age instead of telling nonsense!" he said.
A bit offended, Erasa calmly replied, "You don't believe me?"
"Of course… and why not 10 trillion while you're at it!" Jérôme said.
"Because I wasn't born before, simply," Erasa answered.
Annoyed, Jérôme preferred to change the subject.
"Forget it!" he said.
He then asked Erasa where she came from.
"I come from a very distant world called Hell," she said.
"Sure, you're joking…" Jérôme said.
Jérôme proposed to accompany Erasa to fetch water at the river three kilometers away. He lent her more suitable clothes. Embarrassed to see her change in front of him, he sent her back to her room.
Once ready, they set off, talking along the way. Jérôme explained the concept of family names. Erasa said she had none but had a rank: she was an archdemon.
More and more skeptical, Jérôme pressed her with questions and eventually mentioned Boaz, the great sorcerer responsible for the curse on the village that poisoned the crops. Erasa then understood why the sky had been so dark violet since her arrival but kept her thoughts to herself.
Arriving at the river, Jérôme noticed Erasa's silence and worried.
"Erasa, are you okay?" he asked.
"Of course, why do you ask?" she replied.
"You're very quiet…" Jérôme said.
Erasa then asked if he thought a demon could accomplish anything alone. Annoyed by her words, Jérôme asked again if she was really a demon. Before she could answer, a titanic explosion shook the forest, throwing Jérôme and Erasa into the river.
The explosion unleashed a monstrous shockwave, devastating everything: trees reduced to ashes, flames devouring the forest, and the sky darkened by thick black smoke. Jérôme and Erasa were thrown into the turbulent river, struggling not to drown.
At the surface, Jérôme was surprised by the attack's violence. A second explosion propelled him violently against burning tree branches. A thorn pierced his abdomen, and he spat blood, his face pale.
"Ouch… that hurts…" Jérôme said.
He tried to free himself, but the pain was unbearable. Feeling death approaching, he looked at Erasa, tears in his eyes.
"Erasa… I'm sorry… it's over for me… You must leave quickly; there will probably be more explosions… If I die now, it's no accident. You have a role to play, maybe more important than mine. Whether you're a demon or not, you're not bad. I refuse to believe you're a demon. You're human, with an adorable face… Save yourself, save everyone!" he said.
Erasa remained impassive, watching Jérôme without emotion. Flames engulfed the dry tree he was clinging to, slowly consuming him. Jérôme closed his eyes, tears silently falling, then lost consciousness.
Suddenly, Erasa softly applauded. The flames instantly extinguished, as if sucked by an invisible force. She used telekinesis to lift Jérôme's burned body and laid it at her feet. Then, enveloping his body in deep violet spiritual energy, she made the charred flesh disappear into light smoke. To Jérôme's astonishment, he came back to life.
"What? But… where am I? Was it a nightmare?" Jérôme said, surprised.
Around them, the forest still smoked, but the flames were gone. Jérôme realized he was not dreaming and saw Erasa beside him.
"So Jérôme, how do you feel about being dead?" Erasa asked.
"Uh… I don't understand… How did you do that? Where do you come from?" Jérôme asked.
"I resurrected you. You were dead, pierced and burned. I didn't react immediately; I wanted to hear what you would say… It's incredible how a human can remain so brave facing death," Erasa said.
Jérôme blushed, embarrassed and sensing Erasa's sarcasm.
"Mind your own business! And if you're really a demon with magical powers, find out what's happening in the village," Jérôme said.
Erasa smiled, then huge bat-like wings with a wingspan of about seven meters spread from her back. She flew toward the sky, observing the village 3,000 meters away, under Jérôme's astonished gaze.
From above, she saw horror: hundreds of knights attacking the village, accompanied by three gigantic dragons, one with five heads. She quickly descended to Jérôme.
"Your village is attacked by knights, hundreds of men, and three dragons," Erasa said.
"Damn… Every time, Boaz's knights come to demand our money as tribute. But how can we earn money if our crops are poisoned by Boaz's curse?" Jérôme said.
Erasa remained silent, listening to Jérôme's complaints.
"Erasa, can't you make them disappear? You have the power to resurrect; you must be able to match Boaz," Jérôme said.
"Do you want me to eliminate them all?" Erasa asked.
"No, I don't want to die. But for years, they've made our lives hell. You have nothing to do with this; don't get involved," Jérôme said.
He grabbed Erasa by the shoulders.
"Don't move; I'm going to fight for my village," Jérôme said.
Erasa immediately caught him, making him fall to the ground.
Jérôme trembled on the ground and said, "Honestly, I don't know if I'll be able to beat them… Erasa… will you help me?"
Erasa: "What a stupid question! I'll help you, Jérôme; you didn't need to ask."
Surprised, Jérôme burst into tears.
"Thank you, Erasa… That's why I can't believe you're a demon. Thank you!" he said.
Erasa: "Take my hand!"
Jérôme grabbed it, and in an instant, they found themselves in the heart of the village. Around them, chaos reigned: bodies lay scattered, cries of despair echoed, and knights massacred the last survivors.
