Chapter 8 - Chapter-8: " Dungeons and Gates "

As the realization of his newfound powers settled upon Alex, he couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement.

The system had unlocked a world of possibilities, and he was eager to explore every facet of it.

Alex shifted his attention towards the system, his curiosity burning like a flame within him.

He leaned in slightly and addressed the enigmatic entity, "System, I would greatly appreciate it if you could enlighten me further regarding the role of a 'Dungeon Ruler' and the methods through which I can attain mastery over these diverse skills."

[Host, before pro..]

Before allowing the system to respond, Alex's mind raced with another idea.

He spoke with a tone of earnestness, "System, may I bestow upon you a name, something more personal than a mere designation? And in return, could you kindly address me by my name?" He paused briefly, ensuring his words were clear and concise before continuing.

The room fell into a profound silence that stretched on for an entire minute, casting an atmosphere of suspense over the space.

Then, unexpectedly, a response emerged from the system, defying Alex's expectations and leaving him utterly astounded.

[Host, you are free to address me by any name that suits your preference. My primary objective is to serve as your loyal guide on this remarkable journey.

As for your second question, the System shall henceforth refer to you as 'Alex.']

Alex found himself in a state of bewilderment at the system's reply.

Throughout his life, he had never entertained the notion that the system could grant him such a simple yet meaningful request, and the realization left him both amazed and appreciative.

"That sounds wonderful, so from this moment onward, I shall address you as 'Aira,' a name signifying the inception and the very essence of life itself," Alex expressed, his happiness genuine and uncontained.

"Indeed, Aira, about the answer to my previous question?" Alex inquired about the system.

[Yes, Alex, before we delve into your inquiries, it's essential that you possess a comprehensive understanding of the concept of dungeons and Gates.]

"Absolutely, Aira. While I do have a foundation of knowledge about dungeons and gates, I'm aware that my understanding may be somewhat limited.

Could you provide me with a more profound insight into this matter?" Alex inquired with a thirst for deeper knowledge.

The dawn of January 1, 2020, marked a momentous occasion as dungeons and gates made their initial appearance on Earth.

This monumental event ushered in a transformative era where once-thriving cities gave way to silent wilderness, forever altering the world's landscape.

These gates, characterized by their circular design, assumed a role as enigmatic conduits, bridging the gap between the earthly realm and the enigmatic dungeons.

The majority of these gates established connections with various dungeons, forging a bridge between the mundane and the mysterious.

However, there existed a select few exceptions to this norm.

Remarkably, these gates exhibited a diverse array of colors, each hue carrying its own unique significance.

Some gates radiated a tranquil shade of blue, while others exuded a vibrant yellow luminescence.

Yet, when a dungeon approached its capacity, the gate connecting to it underwent a dramatic transformation, its color shifting ominously to a foreboding shade of crimson red.

Through the utilization of specialized instruments and a keen understanding of these dungeon colors, people devised a system to gauge the difficulty level of the dungeons, thus ensuring they were well-prepared for the challenges that lay within.

This intricate system of gates and dungeons further stratified the challenges based on levels and ranks.

Dungeons, in particular, were organized into a hierarchy that encompassed a spectrum of experiences, ranging from the relatively manageable "Easy" dungeons to the more demanding "Medium" and "Hard" tiers.

At the pinnacle of adversity stood the infamous "Hell" dungeons, feared by all who dared to enter.

Correspondingly, the gates themselves were categorized into a diverse array of ranks, spanning from the humble Rank E to the formidable SSS level.

The rank of a Gate depends on the mana level and color of the gate.

There are a total of Five colors of Gates present on Earth.

For better understanding blue color Gates fall under the E to D rank, whereas Yellow Colour Gtaes fall under the C to A rank, and orange color gates fall under the S to SSS rank.

Red Gtaes means at any time the Dungeon Overload will occur, whereas Purple Gates is a little bit different.

There are only 5 purple color Gates that are present and they Don't have any rank, why? Because they don't connect to any dungeon. Surprise right?

Yes, they connect to 5 different worlds, but it is a story for another time.

So let's come to the topic, When a gate manifested, individuals were presented with several options to choose from, each representing a different level of dungeon challenge.

This choice could encompass "Easy," "Medium," "Hard" or "Hell" difficulty settings just like in RPG games.

However, one unique aspect of this enigmatic world was that the contents of a dungeon remained shrouded in mystery until a brave soul dared to explore its depths.

It was an inherent risk; entering the same dungeon at either an easy or hard level could lead to an encounter with identical creatures, with the primary distinction lying in the number and strength of these formidable adversaries.

To illustrate this concept further, imagine two individuals selecting the same gate, each presented with the choice of "Easy" or "Hard" difficulty.

Should person A opt for the "Easy" mode and person B embrace the challenge of the "Hard" mode, they would ultimately find themselves facing the same roster of monstrous foes.

However, it was the daunting disparity in the strength and number of these creatures that would truly test the mettle of those who embarked on this perilous journey.

Alex contemplated, 'In my previous life, despite extensive research and ten years of dedication, the government remained unable to unravel the secrets hidden within the dungeons.'

[ The dungeons present on Earth originate from different worlds that have been destroyed through natural or other means.

Every planet possesses a core, and when these planets are in the process of being destroyed under uncertain circumstances, the planet's core preserves its inhabitants and fragments, transporting them to different dimensions which are later known as dungeons.

Whereas, over time, as a planet's divine power accumulates through the alignment of constellations, ruptures occur in space and time.

These ruptures are known as Gates, connecting to these dungeons.]

"What?" Alex exclaimed, his voice resounding loudly through the room.
