Chapter 8 - CHAPTER 8

Moon Mist, our village, went behind us in an instant. As we approached the boundary between our domain and Misty Pines, trees and an arbitrary small home were scattered over the terrain. We had a three-hour drive to the next town, so I took her phone and started browsing the music to find something to listen to.

"Oh, look,"

I asked, glancing up, "What?"

"Let's stop, that place looks like fun."

I noticed a rather interesting place when I looked up. Tall rails with automobiles were present. swimming pools and slides.

What is that location?

"I've never been, I don't know. Let's go!"

I complained, "This is what happens when you never leave your territory. , "Let's go!"

We moved up to the gates once she pulled into the parking lot.

I'm Wolfy, and welcome to my world.

I said, "Hello. How long has this place been here?"

Have you ever been here before? We just started our fifth season, so we're actually pretty new.

We each gave a headshake.

"Welcome, new visitors!"

We purchased our tickets from the bubbly girl, who also gave us a map showing all of their attractions. She dubbed it an amusement park, and although it wasn't very big, it appeared to be entertaining for a few hours.

Ashley squealed, "They have a petting zoo!" "Let's go do the pet stuff!"

I chuckled and concurred. We arrived through opulent gates that were quite enormous. I was utterly out of my element. There were more people present than just those from Moon Mist.

I muttered, "I didn't know that many different wolves come here.

I agree, it's wonderful.

It great. This is fantastic. We need more mixing throughout the packs.

The girl at the gate called it a roller coaster, and she pointed to it as it sped by us and exclaimed, "Look at that!" "Oh, my Goddess, let's move forward with that!"

She dragged me in the direction of the queue, and I laughed and followed.

She questioned, "If this place has been here for 5 years, why haven't our parents brought us here?"

I let out a shoulder shrug. "I don't know. I mean, being the daughters of the Beta and the Gamma, we never left Moon Mist. Like, ever. The furthest I went was like a mile beyond the borders of town."

"Me too."

"Maybe that's why, Dad did always say there were extra dangers out there for high-born children."

"Maybe."

We spent what seemed like hours caressing all of the cute animals they had while we traversed the length of the park, rode as much as we could. The small rabbits were adorable. There were a staggering number of hues.

I exclaimed as a very fluffy black and white bunny hugged my neck, "I want one so bad." "She's so lovely!"

Ashley exclaimed, "I want goats!" as a young goat chased her around the barnyard.

We chuckled and played around like we were still puppies. I forgot about the heartache I had experienced for the first time in days.

Finally, we made our way back to the car as the sun started to set.

Ashley exclaimed with excitement, "I could spend like every day there!"

"I agree, and we will when we get back!"

"Yeah?"

"Absolutely!"

"Yay!"

Quickly, we were back on the road again, traveling in the direction of our destination. Cloudy Pines.

I let the air rush through my fingers as I held out my hand and gazed out the window while watching the trees go by us.

At a T in the road, we arrived.

The direction is "Which way?"

"Uh, go right. Misty Pines is on the right. Left circles back to Moon Mist."

"Right, it is."

A dump truck sped down the road as she departed from the stop sign.

I remarked, "That truck is moving pretty quickly."

Ashley stared at me as the car sped up a bit, "What?" she asked.

I yelled, "The truck! The truck!" as it crashed into the side of the vehicle.

Ashley shouts were muffled by the metal that engulfed us. Our faces and arms were sliced by glass. The roof of the car crashed down on top of our heads as it rolled on its side and flipped down the road. I yelled till we came to a stop. On the roof, everything was strangely silent while we took a nap.

In order to pull myself out of the suspended condition I was in, I reached for the seat belt.

I yelled, "Ash?"

She made no comment.

"Ashley?"

She stood still with her arms hanging down.

I approached her and shook her, "Ashley."

She remained still.

Hey, are you guys all right?

The truck's driver rushed up to the vehicle.

He yelled out again, yanking open my door, "Are you guys okay?"

I asked the man, whose face was pallid and ashen, "I think I am. What happened?"

He appeared to have blood on his head, and the collar of his shirt was soaked.

He gave a headshake. I'm not sure. The truck had a total breakdown, including the brakes and horn.

I yelled, "Ashley, help Ashley," as I yanked myself out of the twisted mess. "Help Ashley, please."

He quickly reached the driver's side and unlocked her door.

God, oh God.

What exactly is wrong?

I stood up and stumbled to the side of the car opposite Ashley, who was now a bleeding, disfigured wreck. Something was protruding from the side of her skull, which was covered in blood. I approached her and noticed that one of her arms was bent as I

I cried out, "Ash?" and got down on my knees. "Ash, please get up."

She remained still.

"This is not possible."

Please proceed as we wait by the truck until the paramedics arrive. I'm very sorry, miss.

I wailed, "I don't know why this is happening.

He wept with me, saying, "I'm very sorry.

I sat on the floor and held tight to my knees. Dad would have been furious. Gamma Arthur would be enraged. We had only been gone for a half-day when this occurred.

I sobbed, "This was such a bad idea, we should have stayed home.

"What?"

"I felt bad about myself, so we decided to go on a road trip to all the packs."

Oh, come on, that was a mistake, an inevitable mistake.

"We should have just stayed at home."

Far-off sirens gradually drew nearer.

The truck driver was in front of me and he began to shake a little. I quickly brushed away my tears and continued to observe.

"Hey, Mr., how are you doing?"

His eyes rolled into the back of his head as he uttered "I'm...I," and he collapsed to the ground.

I screamed and leaped to my feet.

I yelled, "Oh, my Goddess. What is happening?"

I bent down and gave him a shoulder shake. Simply lurching back and forth, his head. Blood gathered underneath him as sweat dripped on his forehead.

Greetings, mister.

He had no breath. His neck appeared to have some sort of wound due to the blood that ran down his shoulder.

"Did he cut himself during the accident?"

I attempted to stop the bleeding by pressing my palms against his neck.

I yelled, "Help!" "Someone, please!"

I heard the man make a terrible gurgling sound, which I also felt in my palm.

"Please, please, don't be dead. I can't handle this."

When his chest stopped rising and falling, I released my hold on his neck. His blood was smeared all over my hands and arms. My heart felt as though it were going to leave my body completely. I looked at the rubble in front of me as I stumbled back while standing.

I screamed, and the police and ambulance's lights appeared. I shut my eyes as the world became pitch black.

Ashley was no more. And I was to blame.
