Charlotte's Pov
The rays of the sun shine brightly at me, giving me no other option but to squeeze my eyes open. I shut my eyes again so that they will adjust to the brightness of the room. Finally, looking around the room, a deep frown formed on my face at the unfamiliarity of the room. I tried to sit up but found myself too weak to move a muscle, turning to my left. I saw a cardioversion machine beeping, thereby answering my question of where I am.
But that didn't make me relaxed instead, it got me so confused. How on earth did I end up in the hospital? What happened? I turned to my right and noticed how organised the room is, more like a hotel room than that of a hospital.
I tried to recall how I got to the hospital, but I couldn't remember a thing, more like someone wiped my memory. " What the hell!" I spoke out loud in frustration because this is pissing me off and why the hell has no one come to check on me.
Moreover, I tried to move my hands but felt too weak to do so. Just when I was about to force my weak limbs to get me up, the door opened, revealing Jasper. He stared at me with a shocked, driven face." What?"I asked in annoyance that seemed to bring him back to reality. He immediately pressed a button on the wall before walking towards me.
"Charlotte, how are you feeling? Do you feel pain in any part of your body? Do…" The way he asked me questions annoyed me more, and then why the sudden care? I don't know where that is coming from.
"Can you stop?" I said while rolling my eyes at him, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath, and was about to spout rubbish, but thankfully, the doctors and nurses walked in with hurried steps.
Some nurses ran to check my temperature while the doctor used his stethoscope on me, and another nurse used a string to take a sample of my blood.
"How are you feeling now?" The doctor inquired as he folded his arms on his chest and stared intensely at me, while the other doctor readied his hand on his book to note down my words, I guess.
"I think I don't remember what in particular brought me here, it's like a dream to me, and then again, I'm feeling so weak."I asserted in a breathy voice while trying to stretch my numb legs.
"I think my legs are numb too," I complained while staring at the doctor, who seemed to be describing something to his colleague.
"You will be fine. We need to call in a therapist for her leg, my Alpha. Miss, when you have a proper rest, you will recall everything, it's normal that you don't for now." He crooned while looking at me with a raised eyebrow.
They all bowed slightly to Jasper, who wasn't even looking at them to begin with, but then they all walked out of the room, leaving only the two of us. "Can you explain in detail why on this freaking earth I'm lying on a hospital bed with numb limbs?"I rasped in anger.
"The doctor said you will recall all that happened when you have enough rest." He replied as he stood up from the sofa he was sitting on and walked towards me.
"Did you do anything to me? Because you look so guilty and the sudden care? Where is it coming from?"I blurted out in rage without minding my words at all.
"The most important thing right now is that you are alive,just like the doctors said you'll recall everything when you take a little bit of rest."He was obviously trying to avoid this topic. I let out a sharp breath then closed my eyes trying my best to relax my nerves.
"If I get you right,you're trying to say that whatever brought me here could have taken my life if not for the intervention of the moon goddess right?"I inquired from him, trying to suppress the anger surging in my heart.
"No,that wasn't what I was trying to say,I meant that you breathing right now is a miracle."At that statement I snapped my eyes open immediately.
"Charlotte,please calm down so you won't cause yourself more harm. It's not like you lost your memory or something, you will still recall everything…" he was still talking when a knock came on the door.
"Come in." He said to the person on the door,I watched as the door knob twisted and the door slowly opened revealing Grace with a flask of food obviously.
"Ohh,poor innocent girl, all thanks to the moon goddess that you are awake right now."She let out as she rushed towards my bed and dropped the flask on the stool, then hugged me tightly.
"Grace that's enough,she isn't strong yet,help her with the food, she needs to get some rest after eating."Jasper said to her and she immediately broke the hug but kept staring at me pitifully.
He walked to the window and sat down and Grace sat on the bed and began to feed me,I managed to force a smile on lips. I didn't want to ask her any questions. It's obvious that her alpha might have told her not to tell me a thing.
"Thanks for the food Grace, I really appreciate it." I let out after eating to my satisfaction,she nodded her head then packed the food flask and as though there was a signal that I just ate, two nurses walked into the room with a tray of drugs,injections and probably drip bags too.
"My Alpha,we are here to administer an injection on her then fix…." Jasper didn't even let them complete their explanation before cutting them short,forcing their mouth shut.
"Go ahead and do your job just know that whatever goes wrong in her treatment I will hold you responsible for it." Hr said to them with a warning gaze on.
"Yes my alpha."They responded to him.
One of them immediately took a cannula from the tray and raised my hand up and within a few minutes she located a vein and slowly she pierced the cannula into my vein,with the iv catheter she connected the iv bag,she set the fluid to a minimum range.
After doing that she took a string from the table then fixed a needle to it and pierced it on my shoulder causing a sharp pain on my shoulder.
"Ahhhhh…"I screeched in pain,as I tightened my fist.
"So sorry dear,the pains will subside in a bit."They tried to make me feel better.
"We'll take our leave right now."they annouced with a slight bow to their alpha before they took their leave.
"Grace,you can leave as well."He said to her and she nodded with smiles then walked out of the room while still staring at me in that pitiful manner that got me really pissed, I swallowed hard as i watched her.
"Get a bit of rest,I will be right here when you wake up."I scrunched up my face at that statement immediately but it seemed as though he didn't notice the frown on my face as he began to smoothen my hair like that of a five year old child. Without letting him do that for another second i slapped his
hand off my hair immediately.
"I dont need your fucking pity!"
