Rama, Shoji, and Axel stepped into the room with only Larsen there, waiting to speak to them.
His expression was grave. It was the kind of expression that felt heavy in the air before a word was even spoken.
When they had gathered, he looked at each of them in turn, then began.
"I know we've only known each other for three days," Larsen said, "but I can't help already trusting the three of you. I don't want to pry into your real motivations if you'd rather keep them to yourselves. But now, Rama has received an instruction from his power to find the Velmire Tablet. That tablet could clear my family's name. I trust you three to get it."
He paused, the intensity in his eyes unshaken. "I'm really sorry that I can't join you. I have to lead the Hunters in the sweep. I'm sorry if it's selfish but this is important to me."
