Rama pushed himself upright, his chest heaving as he stared at the scorched, healing remains of Caedryn's body.
Then his eyes shifted. To the portal.
The swirling dark gate pulsed again, and now he understood.
The regeneration and the unnatural resilience, it wasn't just Mana. It wasn't a spell. It was the portal. That thing wasn't just a door to anotuer dimension. It was an open wound to another world. A world that he didn't even understand.
Caesryn had called it the Underworld.
And Caedryn was feeding from it, somehow.
Rama's stomach clenched. If he couldn't close that portal, then it didn't matter how many times they destroyed Caedryn's body he'd just keep coming back.
But the worst part was that Rama didn't even know how to close it. He had no spell, or weapon strong enough, nothing prepared him for this kind of shit.
He barely had time to think. Caedryn was already moving. He won't give him a chance to think.
