Some sections were far wider than others, but all of them had been torn apart by the violent conflict that had erupted beneath Alterian.
This destruction had not gone unnoticed by those above.
Police forces had already been dispatched to the scene, arriving in increasing numbers as reports flooded in. Although many citizens still held a deep distrust toward authority, at this moment they trusted the police far more than the guilds. After everything that had happened, the guilds were no longer seen as protectors, but as unstable forces whose loyalties were uncertain.
