"You're going to break my hand," I laughed at Ethan as we both looked at the screen as Dr Meyers conducted the ultrasound in the dim room. The cold gel spread across my stomach made the hairs on the back of my neck stand in attention.
"Sorry," he chuckled before he pressed a kiss to my forehead. I did not think I had ever seen so much light in Ethan's eyes as I did in that moment. His whole body glowed as a bright smile stretched across his lips.
Even though I wanted to make fun of him I was close to tears even though so far all we saw was an empty void as Doctor Meyers searched for our baby.
"Little one is hiding," he chuckled. I squeezed Ethan's hand as my heart raced in my chest. The vast silence reminded me so much of the twins and even though I knew our baby was too small to have a heartbeat the anxiety in me was overwhelming. After another minute the smallest little floating bean appeared on the screen. "There they are," he smiled, "Looks just like you Ethan."
