Sophie Sullivan: "..."
This sounds so familiar...
Entering George Stanford's office, he toned down quite a bit. With Thomas Shannon, this living King of Hell, present, he didn't dare to act out and certainly didn't dare to joke with Sophie.
The two sat across from George Stanford's desk, separated by the desk. He stretched his neck to carefully scrutinize Sophie's face.
As he observed, he kept nodding and said with a smile, "Fiona, your recovery is truly amazing. I believe less than half a month, and another 10 days, and you'll be ready for the third surgery."
Sophie's eyes sparkled with excitement, "Really?"
George Stanford smugly replied, "Of course it's true. When have I ever lied to you?"
Sophie happily cradled her face, turned her head, and looked at Thomas Shannon playing with a cigarette in his hand, "Did you hear that, Thomas Shannon? I'm about to have surgery!"
"I heard."
"Aren't you happy?"
"I am happy."
